Beatrice Evelyn Stewart Brown, 90, went peacefully to be with the Lord on March 29, 2017 in San Angelo, Texas. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by family and friends, as her pastor prayed and read scripture.

Born in Pickens County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Taylor Hillhouse and Sunni Arnita Medlin Stewart. She was an active young woman accustomed to the rigors of farm life, and followed her adventurous nature in to the Army Nurse Corps Training program at the University of South Carolina, where she met her future husband Wilton J. Brown, then a Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps student from San Antonio. After the end of World War II, Beatrice and Wilton were married and moved to San Antonio where she began her nursing career. They moved to San Angelo in 1953, where she balanced her career as a Registered Nurse with raising three sons and an active membership at Park Heights Baptist Church and Southland Baptist Church. She took up tennis in her forties, after retiring from nursing and achieved a top 10 ranking in Texas in the over 50 age group, continuing to play into her 80's.

Beatrice is preceded in death by her husband Wilton J. Brown, as well as three sisters and four brothers in South Carolina. In addition to one brother and three sisters in South Carolina, she is survived by three sons, Retired Tom Green County Judge Michael D. Brown of San Angelo, Colonel (USAF Ret.) Stephen D. Brown (Victoria) of San Antonio, Jeffrey J. Brown (Angela) of Ft. Worth, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday March 31st from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, April 1st at 11:00 AM at Southland Baptist Church, with interment to be held at Fairmount Cemetery on Monday, April 3rd at 11:00 AM.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Pastor Taylor Sandlin, who was at their mother's bedside in her final moments, and they request that any memorials in their mother's honor be made to Southland Baptist Church, in San Angelo, Texas
 

Robin Van Scalf of San Angelo, Texas passed away March 28th, 2017. He joins his mother and father, Dalton and Shirley Scalf in Heaven. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Kathy Scalf, his four sons, Jamie Scalf and wife JaneAnn of Montgomery, Texas, Joel Scalf and wife Heather of Amarillo, Texas, Nicholas Scalf and wife Arlene of San Angelo, Texas and Nathan Scalf of San Angelo, Texas. Also, surviving are his sisters, Linda Keys and husband Doug, Janice Pledger and husband Scott, and Sandy Baldock; brothers, Brian Scalf and wife Kim, Randy Scalf and wife Tina, and a plethora of nieces and nephews. The greatest joy of his life were his seven grandchildren, Evan (12), KayDee (9), Avery (9), Liddy (6), Luke (5), Lyla (3), and Millie (2). He was a wonderful provider, husband, father, and grandfather. He worked extremely hard to care for his family. Robin was the love of Kathy's life and her rock. He will be greatly missed. An open visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2017. Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger, Texas at 11 AM, Saturday, April 1st, 2017 with Vernon Ferguson officiating. 

Floyd Jennings, Jr., 85, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 27, 2017 in San Angelo surrounded by his loving family. Floyd was born July 22, 1931 in Fitzhugh, OK to Floyd Fay and Winnie Mae Hooper Jennings. He grew up in Oklahoma and moved to West Texas in 1955. He married the love of his life, Deloris Ann Mainord on May 29, 1953 and they shared 63 beautiful years together. Floyd worked in the petroleum industry for many years and retired in 1983. Floyd was a man of incredible faith and was called to become a minister in his next profession. In 1960, he became a full-time pastor and worked as a pastor and as an associate pastor at numerous churches in West Texas for over 55 years. He fully retired in 2015, but never ceased to teach and spread God’s word whenever he could. Floyd was above all, a loving husband father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his grandchildren and occasionally loved to go fishing as well. His incredible faith and his tremendous love for his family will always be cherished and he will live on in our hearts forever! Floyd was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Deloris Jennings, of San Angelo; his sons, Rick Jennings, of Brownwood, TX, and Jimmy Jennings, Sr., of San Angelo; 8 Grandchildren, Stephanie Wood, Stacye Jennings, Gunner Jennings, Brittany Evans, Ashlea Jennings, Heather Jennings, Jimmy Jennings, Jr., and Justan Jennings; 10 Great grandchildren; his brother, Dale Dean Jennings and his wife, Lorene of Holdenville, OK. Floyd is also survived by two nieces, one nephew, dear friends, Gayle and Novalene Reeves, of Midland, TX and numerous other family members and close friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 31, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. Eunice Irene Vicars Welch was born December 10, 1916 in Thorndale County, Texas to J.P. Vicars and Mary Pearl Hilyard Vicars. She was the eldest of three brothers; Orville, Leighton and J.P and two sisters; Nina Ruth, Patsy.
Eunice married Tully Welch on December 8th, 1934 in Blackwell, TX along with their friends, Leonard and Dolly Baker. Jack and Louise Baker witnessed the ceremony and then they all went to Ft. Chadbourne to a barn dance. Eunice and Tully were married for 61 years before the death of Tully separated them, physically but not mentally.
Eunice and Tully had two children, Harlan R. Welch and Mary Karen Welch: three grandchildren, Tim Welch, Tammy Gully, and Kevin Tims, and six great grandchildren, Samantha and Austin Tims, Layton and Ryan Gully, and Ethan and Trenton Welch.
Eunice was an amazing woman who had an amazing life. She loved her family and always put everyone before herself. She was a wonderful cook who liked putting together large family dinners and making lots of deserts. She couldn’t get enough of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always ready to poke some sweets down anyone who visited. Eunice’s second love was following politics and whatever was on CNN. Political discussions were always fun during family dinners because Eunice leaned a little left and the rest of the family leans to the right. Even at 100 years old, she kept up with this last Presidential election.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Harper Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Reception will follow at 3702 Mariner Terrace.

John(Jack) Richmond Massey was born on September 3,1971 in Austin, Texas to Don and Billie Massey. 
In 1973 he and his family moved to Del Rio, Texas where he grew up. Jack enjoyed singing in the middle school choir and played multiple sports including his favorite, football. Jack’s true love was Scouting and loved the outdoors. He went on many adventures through scouting including canoeing rivers and hiked trails from the Ozarks to the Gila wilderness and everywhere in between. He was a summer camp counselor as a youth scout at camp Sol Mayer and then later as an adult he was excited to become the camp Director of Camp Sol Mayer. The highlight of Jack’s adventures were the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Jack earned the highest honor in scouting completing his eagle scout rank in which he helped bring new soccer fields to Del Rio. Jack’s Eagle project was literally the construction of the first youth soccer fields in Del Rio. The association started the year before and played here and there at baseball fields and such. This was a huge project for a young person involving heavy equipment excavators, graders, trenches and such. Water supply, sprinklers plumbing, storage shed construction and many, many volunteers. Also involved was a referee clinic to provide training to volunteers. No one had been around soccer before that. This project received recognition from the head of the President’s Council of fitness, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Jack graduated from Del Rio High School in the Spring of 1990. Jack attended Angelo State University and made his life in San Angelo, Texas.

In the year of 2002 he met the love of his life, Tana Massey.
They soon were married on May 22nd, 2004. Jack worked for Darnell & Dickson for a short period of time, then went on to work under Randy Rohmfeld at AAA Testers where he would work for the next eleven years.

Jack was Preceded in death by his parents, Don and Billie Massey and sister Barbara Massey.
Jack is survived by his wife Tana Massey with daughter Sage Massey, beloved stepdaughter Addison Simmons and stepson Payton Menchaca. Brother Randy Massey and wife Deborah of Las Vegas, Nevada, Russell Massey and wife Tina Massey of Austin, TX. Beloved father and mother-in-law Don and Carolyn Maynard, Brother and sister in-law Jason and Dana Calhoun all of San Angelo, TX. Jack took all of the above roles very seriously, but most of all was a great uncle to Jennifer Massey of Broken Arrow, Ok, Dylan and Davis Calhoun of San Angelo, TX, and Taylor Massey of Austin, TX.

We would like to thank Dr. Mull and his staff for the great and extensive care given to him in time of need, and our friends for the prayers and thoughts sent our way.

"William H. (Dub) Riley of Fort Stockton, passed away March 22, 2017, -3 days short of his 88th Birthday.
He was a Beloved Husband, a Loved Father and Grandpa.
He was born in Brady, Texas on March 25, 1929 to Bill and Ilene Riley
He graduated from Texas Tech in 1952 and started a Teaching and Coaching Career.
In 1955, He moved his Family to Fort Stockton, Texas where he and his wife, Lela began Farming. 
During the early 1970’s Dub became involved in International Agricultural Consulting in the Mid-East. 
He and Lela wound up in Uruguay, South America where he spent the last 15 years of his career.
Upon retiring, he and Lela moved back to Fort Stockton and later to San Angelo to be closer to family. 
Dub is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lela; his children; Wil Riley & wife Bonnie of Miami, Florida, Tam Honaker & husband Rick of San Angelo, Timothy O Riley and wife of Paysandú, Uruguay, and Hoven Riley of Fort Stockton. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Honoring Dub’s wishes there will be no service.
We will miss dearly our Husband, Father and Mentor.

Clifford Wayne Wright, 79, of San Angelo was received by his Heavenly Father with open arms on Monday, March 20, 2017. Clifford was born October 31, 1937 to Clifford Harvey “Skeet” Wright and Fleta Rogers Wright in Nolan County on the Divide. He attended school in Divide and went on to work many jobs in his life, including Kimble Foods in San Angelo, Texas International Airlines in San Angelo and Waco, Mayfield Paper Company in San Angelo; Burmass Publishing Company in Midland, Briggs Garden& Pest Control in Levelland and Pest Management in Lubbock.

In a final act of generosity, Clifford requested that his remains be donated to Texas Tech University Medical School in Lubbock for research and medical advancement purposes.

A memorial service & celebration of Clifford’s life will be Monday, April 3rd at 11:00 at Harper Funeral Home.

Clifford loved nothing more than the opportunity to visit and get to know people everywhere he went. Within minutes of meeting someone, he had made a personal connection and was invested in so many details of their life. He had a witty sense of humor and loved getting to share a joke or a laugh with those around him. The last several years as his health declined, he continued to maintain his sense of humor and witty personality.

He and his late wife, Marla, loved to travel, bird watch and work in the yard. He took pride in his ability to identify birds just by listening to their chirp. He loved to play golf and continued playing up until his later years when his health began to prohibit physical activity.

One of his favorite times of the year was the Hanks Cousins’ Reunion every July. He attended every year until he was too sick to travel. He had the distinct honor of serving as family auctioneer for the reunion auction each year. He was notorious for ‘fabricating’ bids in the hopes of baiting other bidders. However, he got stuck with many items when this tactic backfired on him. But, as he did with most setbacks, he took it lightheartedly, and was happy to contribute.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marla, and brother, Donald Wright.

He is survived by his daughter, Christi Matthews & husband, Tommy, of San Angelo; son, Jeff Wright of Dripping Springs; step-children, Angela Allen & husband, Glenn of Levelland; Sheree Toal & husband, Steve of Lubbock; Freddie Steen & wife Marilyn of Gray Court, South Carolina; grandchildren Mickey & Kayla Matthews, Bradley & Stephanie Matthews, Dillon & Kate Matthews, all of San Angelo, Garrett & Amy Wright of Midland, Cody Wright of Buda, Hunter Wright of College Station, Justin Wright of Dripping Springs, Michael & D’Lyn Pompa of Levelland, Vince & Catherine Duarte of Burleson, Chillisa & Connor Brinson of Big Spring, Cienna Toal, Payne Toal, Jennifer Steen & Amanda Steen all of Lubbock and Josie Allen of Liberty City. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Helen Kennedy. He also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, and countless friends.

Although his passing has been hard, and he will be greatly missed, we rest in the knowledge that his body is whole again, and he is no longer suffering and struggling for every breath. We are comforted by the assurance that he has already met lots of new people in Heaven and knows everything about them.

The family would like to thank the staff of Regency House, Community Medical Center and St Gabriel’s Hospice for their love and care for our dad.

Also, special thanks to Mary Beth and Arlen Lohse, Karen Gudim & Ana and Harold Smith for the many, many meals delivered to him from Meals for the Elderly. The impact you had on him spanned far beyond the meals you delivered. He loved your company and the time and conversations he had with you.
