Ernest J. Menn, born October 19, 1923 in Rockdale, Texas peacefully passed away on August 23, 2016. 

Viewing will be from 10:00am to 8:00pm on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Emmett Corker officiating under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

A veteran of World War II he made his home in San Angelo, Texas. Working first at Montgomery Wards he moved on from his first employment to begin his new career as a painter for Doss Brothers from where he eventually retired. He married Rosemary Baker in Veribest, Texas on July 21, 1951. His wife passed before him on February 22, 2000.

He is survived by his daughter Johna Phelps and husband Art, daughter Barbara Prindes and husband Scott. His son Bill Menn preceded him in death in 1986. He is also survived by his granddaughter Tracy Kirk and husband Justin, grandson John Phelps and great-grandsons Dakota and Kobe Roberson.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Meadow Creek Nursing Home and the caregivers of Hospice of San Angelo with special thanks to Dr. Chitwood.

Our beloved Rosa Maria (Granny) Luna, entered the presence of YAHUAH, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; the God of Israel, on the 17th of August, 2016, at the age of 65.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016, 10:00 am at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, San Angelo, Texas, with Francisco Luna, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

She entered eternity while enjoying the worship music she loved and hummed around the home, as she worked, before becoming ill. She was a quiet and private person who loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She was also a woman of great faith who suffered valiantly through the final fifteen months of her life due to complications from surgeries. Her greatest joy was that her loved ones come to know the God she loved and served. Her favorite song was God on the Mountain. Before retiring, she worked as a Childcare Provider for San Angelo Daycare, Wild Little Indians Daycare, and Mosaic Daycare for many years. Previous to her illness, she spent five wonderful years caring fulltime for her youngest grandson, Alex aka Tatis. We will miss her for the time being but our hope, as hers, is built on a solid Rock. We will see her again where pain, sorrow and grief are not allowed!

Luna of San Angelo, daughter, Brenda (Joe) Reynoso of Wood Lake, CA, son, Leeroy (Jessica) Sanchez of Eagle Pass, daughter, Diana (Gonzalo) Luna of San Angelo, daughter, Amanda (Christopher) Castillo of Visalia, CA, daughter, Christine (Mark Rutledge) Madrid of San Angelo, grandchildren, Adam Villareal, Serena Reyes, Vanessa Reyes, Roylee Sanchez, Ryan Lee Sanchez, Joshua Sanchez, Rosie Sanchez, Emeterio Luna, Mark Sanchez, Issac Vincent Sanchez, Alex Isaiah Sanchez, Denise Patrick, Marissa Madrid, Valerie Ordaz, Eddie Ordaz, Jasmine Ordaz, 6 great grandchildren, sister, Virginia (Alex) Santiago of Grape Creek, brother, Abel Rodriguez of Brady, sister, Senovia Samaniego of Grand Prairie, sister, Marivel Contreras of Ozona.

Mary Louise Moore Barker passed away on August 23, 2016 after living with Alzheimer's for several years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Many of her acquaintances may not have realized that she was dealing with Alzheimer's because she would still greet them with a big smile and hello even though she may not realize who they were. Of course, she had a kind heart for everyone during her entire life.
The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26th at Harper Funeral Home Chapel, 2606 Southland Blvd., San Angelo, Texas with Tommy King officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25th at Harper Funeral Home. 
Mary was born in Millersview, Texas on December 3, 1927, the only child of Jim Moore and Ada Ruth Woodress Moore. She married Wayne Eudell Barker, the love of her life, on June 12, 1944, while he was serving in the United States Army. They resided in Millersview after he returned from activity duty, before moving to San Angelo in 1956. Mary cried when they moved from Millersview to the big city. Years later, Eudell would tease her that they needed to move back to Millersview, and she cried at that thought as well. While living in San Angelo, Mary worked for the Yellow Page division of GTE for over 25 years and made many great friends there. 
Mary is survived by two daughters, Sharon Barker Marsden, her husband LeeRoy Marsden and three granddaughters, Missy Marsden LaBarge and her husband Shane LaBarge, Amy Marsden Sims and her husband Shaughn Sims, and Heather Marsden and her husband Rob Polston, and Deborah Barker Pilmer, her husband Gordon Pilmer and grandson Jonathan Pilmer and his wife May Katherine Pilmer. Mary is also survived by five grandsons, Kramer LaBarge, Keegan LaBarge, Griffin Sims, Drake Sims and Jared Polston. 
Pallbearers will be Gene (Buddy) Barker, Jr., Wayne Barker, John C. (Chuck) Shore, Jr., Jim Shore, Zane Cummings and Mark Davis. 
Special thanks to Melissa Gomez, Irene DeLeon, Sylvia Tenorio and Debbie Luna, who cared for Mary while she stayed at home, the loving staff of The Springs as well as Dr. Vayden Stanley and the caring staff of Kindred Hospice. 
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, Kindred Hospice Foundation, Johnson Street Church of Christ and West Texas Boy's Ranch.

Julia A. Houston, 54, of San Angelo, Texas completed her earthly assignments and moved to her heavenly home on August 23, 2016.

Julie was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on March 26, 1962 to Phillip and Vivian Pinching. She married Tom Houston May 23, 1981. Julie graduated from Cadillac High School in Cadillac, Michigan in 1981. She loved her children and sacrificed material things so she could be a stay-at-home mom during the formative years. Julie was employed by San Angelo ISD including 14 years as the Bowie Elementary secretary and 5 years as a Special Ed Paraprofessional at Reagan Elementary. Julie had the gift of gab that even broke the technology barrier, as friends could often identify her text messages without even looking by the multiple text tones! Julie enjoyed time with friends, cooking, traveling, and especially bragging about her family. She was a member of Glen Meadows Baptist Church. 

Julie had a beautiful smile and contagious laughter. Her caring nature was a special gift to those who were hurting and in need. She often gave of herself serving, listening, and encouraging others, while she herself was in pain. Although she did not understand why she had to suffer and fight so hard, Julie accepted that Christ her Savior had a purpose. 

Julie is survived by her husband Tom Houston, son Michael Houston (Jennifer) of San Antonio, daughter Erica Benavidez of Lubbock, son Christopher Houston (Elizabeth) of San Angelo, grandchildren Trevon and McKaylen Benavidez of Lubbock, and sister Donna Jo Pinching of Cadillac, Michigan.

Visitation will be Friday, August 26, 2016 from 5-7 P.M. at Harper Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10 A.M. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Glen Meadows Baptist Church. Graveside burial at Fairmount Cemetery to follow.

Carol Dean Blair, 78, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in San Angelo. Carol was born November 22, 1937 in Big Spring, Texas to Carrol McKinley and Lula Mae Sinclair Lee. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1955. Carol worked in a number of professions during her lifetime. Aside from being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, she was a secretary, court reporter, and radio station announcer. Carol was also a strong woman of faith and truly loved attending her church home Victory Christian Center. She also cherished her children and grandchildren, and her pets as well. Carol will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob Blair, her brother, Carroll M. Lee, Jr., and her sisters, Ladell L. Hoover and Frances L. Montgomery. Carol is survived by her sons, Driller Prather, of Center Point, TX and Skeet Prather, of Kingsland, AR; 3 Grandchildren, Brandon L. Prather, of Midland, Patrick C. Prather, of Midland and Nicole L. Prather, of Stroudsburg, PA; 1 Great Granddaughter, Emma G. Prather, of Midland, TX; and numerous nephews. The Graveside service will be 3:00 P.M., Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Foster Cemetery on Foster Ranch in Sterling City, Texas with Rev. Jerry Roach officiating. Max William Knox, 81, of San Angelo, TX, passed away peacefully to be with the Our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. He beat cancer but couldn’t beat Parkinson’s disease.
Max was born in Mexia, TX on the 4th of July, 1935. He grew up on the family farm outside of Mexia. He did his homework by kerosene lamp until his family got electricity on the farm. He told the story that The Knox Family had the first electric refrigerator and people came from miles to see it. He grew up farming, hunting, fishing, and training horses.
Max moved with his family to San Angelo in 1953. He graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1953. He married Velma Pearl Parker on March 9, 1956 in San Angelo, TX and were married for 60 wonderful years. Max worked for M-System Grocery Store in San Angelo and then transferred to Abilene, TX where he did a ride along with a Highway Patrolman and knew this was the career for him. He went to the DPS Academy in Austin, TX and upon graduation in 1957 was stationed in Lubbock, TX. After 3 years he was stationed in Post, TX as the first Highway Patrolman in Garza County. Every month for the next 8 years he put in for a transfer to San Angelo, TX and in 1968 was stationed in San Angelo.
Max retired after 28 years as a “red patcher” Highway Patrolman. After his retirement, he went to work at Home Motors with the Taylor boys and later worked for Enterprise ferrying cars throughout Texas.
Max enjoyed watching his kids, grand kids, and great grand kids in all of their activities and sporting events. He loved to hunt all over Texas and especially coon hunting with his dad and brother. Every year when his children were growing up they went to Gunnison, CO for fishing. On one trip he was swept down the river for over a mile and still came out with his rod and a rainbow trout. After his children left home, Max & Velma started to travel and went from the East Coast to the West Coast, to Canada and to Alaska. His favorite spot to go every year was Las Vegas. He also loved to play a good game of 88 with family and friends and a chaw of tobacco. Max was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association for over 30 years.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. Knox, Sr. “Bob” and Mary Knox; brother, Robert F. Knox Jr.; daughter Rebecca “Becky” White; and great-granddaughter, Kadyn Paige Wilson.
Max is survived by his wife Velma, as well as his son Clifton “Clif” Knox and his wife Judy; Son in law Michael White; four grandchildren Bo Knox, Misty White, Dusty White and his wife Jennifer, Rindi Wilson & her husband Stephen; along with six great-grandchildren Rylie & Taylor White; Charlotte, Kalyn, & Brynlie Wilson; and Tye Elston; Sister in law Becky Knox; along with wonderful nieces and nephews and their families.
A visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Southgate Church of Christ on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Max was a man of honor and conviction. He loved his Lord and strived to take care of his family. He was a member of the Southgate Church of Christ.
His passing deeply saddens us but his life inspires us.
