Francis Charlene Weaver was born on November 2, 1934 in Comanche, OK and passed away on September 5, 2018.

Edith Murle Jackson VanZant was born February 14, 1926 to Wilmer and Effie Jackson in Abilene, Texas. She married the love of her life, Kenneth VanZant, on February 1, 1944 and for the next 52 years they spent their lives side by side. Murle enjoyed hunting, fishing, Blue Grass music festivals, traveling and baking. Her life was full and she was very proud of her family. She is survived by her four children, Edith (Cliff) Moore, Tommy (Sheila) VanZant, Irene (Dennis) Hogan and Eddie (Jo) VanZant. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren, Misti (Kelly) Bearden, Cory (Rhonda) Moore, Laura (Dan) Hollingshead, Holly VanZant, Jimmy Zyla, Kenny (Shelly) VanZant and Jordan (Geoff) Watson. Great-grandchildren include Jordan Curtis, Dylan and Stormy Bearden, Bradley VanZant, Taylor Angel, Emily and Koby Hollingshead, Chloe and Ivy VanZant and one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild on the way. She also has three sisters, Fay Wheeler, Louise McHenry, and May Dean (Mauri) Fitzgerald.

Family members waiting for her in heaven include her beloved husband Kenneth, parents, Wilmer and Effie Jackson, two brothers, Elsie and Johnnie Jackson, and a grandson, Michael Shane Zyla.

The family would like to thank the Bronte Nursing & Rehab and Kindred Hospice for the loving care they provided.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday in the Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis Phariss officiating with burial to follow in the Water Valley Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Cory Moore, Kelly Bearden, Jordan Curtis, Dylan Bearden, and James McCleery.

Murle was blessed with a happy life, but she was ready to meet Jesus and see her husband again.

Don Ward Brown, 70, of Lubbock, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018, in Lubbock.

Graveside services will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Fairmount Cemetery with Rev. J.T. Tucker, Chaplain at Shannon Medical Center, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Brown was born on September 5, 1947 in Monahans to Preston Vaughn and Myrle Brown. He attended Rankin High School and graduated in 1966. Don married Karen Little and they had a son, Aaron.

Don was known by his high school friends as a gifted athlete. He went on to major in physical education and history at Angelo State University. After graduating college he coached one year and then went into the Army. He was stationed in Germany as a cruise missile crew man.

In 1973 after serving in the Army he was hired as a golf coach and history teacher at Coronado High School in Lubbock. Don was well thought of as a teacher and coach. His golf teams won many championships. Don retired from teaching at Coronado High School.

Don loved his dogs, Patton and Wickett and his trips to Colorado.

The family would like to thank his friend Damon Hogan for the friendship and help that Damon displayed in the last months.

Survivors include his son, Aaron Brown of the home; a sister Dana Hopkins and husband Jim of Richardson; an aunt, Florence Hoshall of Marietta, GA; and cousins, Richard Browning of Lubbock, Lou Bloxom of Doss, Chug Browning of Iraan, Debbie Hoshall of Marietta, CA, Charles Hoshall of Oklahoma City, OK, and Mark Hoshall of Aurora, CO.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Preston Vaughn Brown; his mother, Myrle Brown; a sister, Phyllis Stephens; a nephew, Jodee Stephens; aunts and uncles: Clide and Pauline Barbee, Waymon and Mertis Evans, Sybil and Bert Browning and Howard Hoshall; and his cousins, Bobby Browning and Calvin Barbee.

Ginger Rose Rodriguez, of San Angelo, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at her residence.

Ginger Rose was born in San Angelo to Cynthia Ramirez & Paul Rodriguez, Jr. on June 8, 1979. She went to school at Central High School. She was a Homemaker who enjoyed music and was a bright and lovely soul who enjoyed life to its fullest.

Pallbearers will be David Alonzo, Sam Alonzo, Paul Rodriguez III, Mario Rodriguez, Caleb Reynoso and Conner Featherston

Ginger Rose is survived by father, Paul Rodriguez, Jr. and wife, Diana; mother, Cynthia A Ramirez; sister, Jackie Rodriguez; niece, Bianca Featherston and husband, Conner, niece, Brynlee Featherston; brother, Paul Rodriguez III and wife Dreama. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Viewing will be Friday, August 31, 2018 10:00am ~ 6:00pm at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel followed by a prayer service at 7:00pm.

Juanita Zapata, of San Angelo, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

Juanita was born in San Angelo to Luis and Aurora Zapata. She worked in production for Ethicon for over thirty years. Juanita enjoyed traveling to Austin to spend time with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter and enjoyed hanging out with her son, Michael, where they would go out to eat and spend time outdoors. She enjoyed being with her sisters, Mary Lou Reyes and Gloria Gregg and families. She also enjoyed shopping, listening to mariachi music, hanging with her friends (too many to list) and Facebooking.

Juanita Zapata is preceded in death by her parents; Luis Zapata and Aurora (Talamantez) Zapata; brother and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Louis Zapata, Mario Reyes, James Reyes, Gavino Zapata, Jon Apperson and Michael Apperson.

Juanita is survived by daughter, Jenna Apperson and husband, Jon; son, Michael Zapata and Christina Banda, sister, Mary Lou Reyes and Mario; sister, Gloria Gregg, granddaughter, Isla Apperson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday, 31st of August, 2018 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Elizabeth E. Aguirre, 90, passed away Tuesday August 28, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Elizabeth was born on April 8, 1928 to Marcelino and Juanita Escoto in Yoakum, Texas. Shortly after the family would move to Eden where Elizabeth grew up and attended school. Elizabeth would have to leave school after the 8th grade but would return to get her G.E.D. and eventually her LVN degree. She worked at Shannon Hospital as an LVN for over 26 years before retiring. Elizabeth believed in hard work and lead her family by example raising four children by herself. She loved her family and spent as much time as she could with them.

Ms. Aguirre is preceded in death by two sons David L. Ramirez, and John Daniel Ramirez, Grandson Moses Ramirez.

Elizabeth is survived by two Children Janey Munoz and Nick Ramirez Jr., Grandchildren Nicholas Ramirez III, Pamela Renee Ramirez, Nicole H. Farmer, Victoria Munoz, Danica Rangel, John Daniel Ramirez Jr., Michelle Ramos, along with 15 Great Grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 30, 2018. A graveside service will be held at Fairmount Cemetery at 2:00 PM Friday, August 31, 2018.

Alegra Baker, 75, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018.

Alegra was born to Ray and Lottie Mae Owers on December 7, 1942 in Alexandria, Louisiana. She grew up in Louisiana in Grant Parish attended Pollock High School graduating and going on to attend college.

Alegra married the love of her life Howard Baker in Pollock Louisiana on January 5, 1970. Alegra was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Aunt. She was a member of TOPS and Santa Fe Trail Ride.

Alegra worked for Shannon at the St. John’s campus. Alegra is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Howard Baker, son Tommy Baker, parents Ray and Lottie Mae Owers; and brother Harold Owers.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her sons: Paul Kirtland and wife Alice of Grapecreek, TX; Billy Kirtland and wife Becky of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and their children Belinda Marie Kirtland of Denton, her children Kiai, and Oliver, and Billy Kirtland Jr. of Saginaw, his daughter Olivia, Patrick Kirtland of Lake Worth; and David Baker his wife Brandee of Ft. Worth, Texas, their children Cody Baker of Abilene, Mason Baker of Ft. Worth, and Baylee Baker; two brothers Gene Baker and wife Gwen, and Jerry Owers; nieces Tabatha Baker and Terri Andrews; Nephews Tommy Baker and Theo Baker; dear friends Ruth Halfmann, and Marilyn Parsons; along with numerous other family and close friends.

A Graveside service will be held at Grapecreek Cemetery at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 19, 2018.

Steven Robert Marro, 63, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018. Steven is survived by his daughter, Nicole Marro, and two sons, Mitchell and Shawn Marro. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home
