WATCH: Giving Thanks To Frontline Workers and Local Business

SAN ANGELO, TX -- During these difficult times of the coronavirus, it's the frontline workers who are playing critical roles in our communities.

From healthcare workers and delivery drivers to grocery workers and waste management employees it's individuals in these fields and many more who are making a difference when it matters the most.

Republic Services is in charge of handling recycling and waste management for the City of San Angelo and is giving back to its frontline workers in the Commitment to Serve Initiative.

Republic Services is saying thank you to it's 28,000 essential frontline employees by offering them meals two times per week. It's a $20 million project that's not only feeding the frontline employees but their families as well.

The initiative was also created to help generate economic growth throughout the communities where Republic Services are located. Local San Angelo restaurants such as Shenanigans, Senor Changs, Next Level, and Jalapenos Locos have been among the many who have been called up to provide meals for Republic Services frontline workers.

Watch as Republic Services Municipal Services Manager Joe Spano talks about the initiative and how's it's benefiting more than Republic Services.
