Trammell Eats: These 4 Businesses are Thriving in the COVID-19 Economy

SAN ANGELO, TX – One of the most booming businesses categories in San Angelo during this COVID-19 lockdown have been the food trucks.

As previously reported, on March 19, Governor Greg Abbott killed all dine-in options at restaurants across the state of Texas. That has put a number of restaurants out of business. The one type of restaurant that was arguably most prepared for this lockdown were the food trucks.

In this episode of Trammell Eats, Matt Trammell hits four of the hottest food trucks in San Angelo that are thriving.

First we went to Lonestar Cheeseburger and tried their Famous Double Duke Cheeseburger. This burger was topped with all of the classic toppings but featured Lonestar's own specialty mayonnaise. We also show you another option — the Philly cheese steak.

Then our culinary tour stopped in on our friends at The Pit Bar-B-Que to taste their famous "Jailbreak Sandwich." This is a brisket sandwich topped with creamy peanut butter and grape jelly. We also lucked out when we arrived their just in time for their Taco Thursday. These tacos are packed with their famous brisket.

We then visited the busiest spot on Abe Street called Reyna's Tacos. Their drive-thru has been packing the street since the lockdown because of their taco box. This box filled with 15 authentic street tacos is definitely the way to go when you need a tasty fast pick-up meal that feeds many people.

The last stop on the tour was actually at the office of San Angelo LIVE!. We called in the Kona Ice truck in for a sweet treat. Kona Ice will pull up to you wherever you are, just give them a call.

These four spots have filled the hole for to-go food better than most restaurant in town. To visit these spots check out their Facebook pages here:

This is the third episode of Trammell Eats.
