Ariahella Kamille Gloria

07/03/2025 - 10:02 , by TKing09

With sorrow and pain we announce the passing of our daughter Ariahella Kamille Gloria, the lord gave us 5 beautiful years with her before she gained her wings.

Ari girl “The Bull” was such a gentle giant with a big personality, Ari loved mermaids and being at the ocean, a true mermaid at heart.

Even in all the smallest of things she would find joy.

She had an obsession with balloons and bubbles, playing dress up wearing her plastic princess heels, playing with her cousins, roaming around outside eating dirt, roaring like a dinosaur, and spending time with her dog Jax. If Ari was not inside watching Bluey episodes or watching every princess movie she loved being adventurous and to go exploring every chance she could.

Her constant laughter and smile that would fill the room will definitely be missed but not forgotten as we will always continue to keep her memories alive. We never want this disease to define who Ari is, she was a strong, brave, courageous little girl who fought her battle until her last breath.

Ari is met in heaven by her beautiful sister Khloe Gloria; Uncles, Mario Jr. Salazar, Amador Salazar; Cousin, Israel Galindo; Grandma, Melody Gloria and Great Grandpa, Amador Salazar.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Natalie Salazar and Hector Gloria; grandparents, Carol Salazar and Mario Salazar; great grandparents, Gus and Kay Constancio, Ubaldina Salazar, and Cruz de la Garza; aunts and uncles, Justin-Salazar, Isabella Salazar, Jorge and Veronica Reyes and family, and

Cassandra De La Garza and family, and many cousins, great aunts and uncles.

Hector and Natalie would like to take this moment and say thank you to hospice of San Angelo, her neurologist and medical team, her social worker Patrica and Candy, her hospice nurse.

We would also like to thank the community who have been following our story with both of our girls, we truly do appreciate all the support with much love and sadness.

The Gloria Family.

Here lies a spirit, light and free, a mermaid girl of the deep blue sea.

Five years she danced, a joyful dream, besides coral castles, a vibrant gleam.

With fins of stardust, and eyes so bright, she chased the sun through ocean light.

A tiny siren, with songs untold, in waves of wonder, her story unfolds.

Though tides may turn, and oceans weep, her memory sleeps in the ocean deep.

A mermaid's daughter, forevermore, she swims in heavens, to distant shores.

A visitation for Ariahella will be held Monday, July 7, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home, 435 West Beauregard, San Angelo, TX 76903. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at The House Of Jireh, 1414 N Chadbourne St, San Angelo, TX 76903. A celebration of life service will be at a later date. Friends will be able to share the many stories of Jerry's life. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Dalton was born February 2, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan, to Floyd Carroll and Lola Irene Dalton. As a small child the family moved to Arlington, where Jerry and his father owned and operated a gas station for many years. He wrote his biography, a booklet about his battle with melanoma which he survived, remaining cancer free for 25 years. It's called Melanoma, Then Why Am I Still Here "a biography of the luckiest most unlucky guy." Jerry said, "along with humor,I used it to help myself and others affected by cancer. God is with you. Ask Him for spiritual healing." He and his wife attended a home church with pastor Les Smith.

Kay Weatherby Ellis

07/03/2025 - 09:49 , by TKing09

Maberta Kay Weatherby Ellis, of San Angelo, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the age of 85, at her home following a period of illness complicated by dementia. She was born on December 16, 1939, in San Angelo, Texas, to Roberta Carr and Theron K. Weatherby.

Kay grew up in San Angelo and Big Lake, Texas, on the family ranch—a place that taught her resilience and stewardship. She was especially close to her younger brother, Theron Karman Weatherby, with whom she shared many childhood memories riding to and from town together for Reagan County schools and sports in their shared vehicle.

Following her love of art, Kay traveled to New York to attend art school before deciding to pursue a career in healthcare. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Angelo State University and worked as a medical technologist.

Kay was a remarkably talented artist. Her creativity knew no bounds—she painted, photographed, sculpted, and created beautiful, counted cross-stitch, intricate beaded jewelry, and many cherished rosaries she shared with friends.

In 1962 she married Sonny Becknell, and though they later divorced, they remained lifelong friends. In 1979, she married Buddy Ellis.

Kay was known for her generous spirit and deep love of community arts and music. She helped fund and support events and organizations such as the San Angelo Cowboy Gathering, Bluegrass Festival, Bluesfest, Rockin’ the Ranch, The Chicken Farm Art Center, and perhaps her favorites—the Lady in Blue Project and Heritage Park.

Music was central to her life. She rarely missed a jam session, often attending four or more each month, playing her keyboard and singing with friends. She especially loved hosting, welcoming musicians into her home for the 4th Monday jam each month. Kay also supported many musicians in advancing their careers, including Bernie Nelson, Case Hardin, Daniel Makins, KR Wood, and the Kin Faux band.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roberta Carr and Theron K. Weatherby; her husband, Buddy Ellis; her brothers, Johnnie Sim Weatherby (and his wife, Jo Weatherby) and Dr. Karman Weatherby (and his wife, Carolyn Weatherby); nephews Jay Sim Weatherby, Joe Dean Weatherby, Jeff Weatherby, and Dr. Jerry McCabe; her dear aunt, Mabel Carnes; and dear friends, James Basford, KR Wood, and her first husband, Sonny Becknell.

She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Brandi and husband John Young of San Angelo, and Margo Robin Gooding of Bremond, Texas. Her grandchildren include Brianne Brock (Jason) of Eldorado, Kylie Collins (Josh) of San Angelo, and Desiree de Jongh (Jacob) of College Station. She adored watching them and her great-grandchildren grow: Brason, Kane, Jett, and Sadie Brock; Jonah, Quinton, and Livi Collins; and William Harman.

Other family members remaining to cherish her memory include Buddy’s children and their families: Kimberly Rathmell Morgan, Wade Rathmell (Janice), Kipp Rathmell (Donna); as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families: Tim Weatherby (Claire), Jay Weatherby (Jana), Amy Hendrick (Cal), Kristin Valicek (Ed), Mike McCabe (Diana), Terry McCabe (Anna), Todd McCabe, and Cindy Weatherby and their families.

Also especially dear are Heather and RL Pond of Amarillo and their children Jaxton, Preslie, and Tru; Ortencia de Leon of Arlington; Stacey Asbill (Brandon) of Mason; and Marjorie Maloney (Paul) of Cypress.

Kay leaves behind many friends, including Margaret Nixon, Diane Secord, Lucia Driskell, Tammy Worley, Jay and Penny Johnson, Dwain and Vicky Morrison, and all the musicians she played with at the jam sessions and that she enjoyed supporting.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, July 3, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Haper Funeral Home, 2606 Southland Blvd., San Angelo, TX. The graveside service will take place Saturday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at Glen Rest Cemetery, 100 E Lake St., Big Lake, TX, with Lori Jo Thomas singing.

A Celebration of Life & Jam Session will be held Saturday, July 5, from 6 – 8 p.m. at San Angelo Cowboy Church, 4015 N. Chadbourne, San Angelo, TX. Rev. Jay Johnson will officiate, and the family welcomes you to share your memories.

Pallbearers for the service will be Tim Weatherby, Jay Weatherby, Brownie Fisher, Case Hardin, Bernie Nelson, Mike Truitt, and T. Gozney Thornton.

In honor of Kay’s generous spirit, memorial contributions may be made to any of her favorite causes: House of Faith, San Angelo Cowboy Church, or Emmanuel Episcopal School of the Arts. Supporting these organizations is a meaningful way to continue her legacy of caring and giving.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Hospice of San Angelo, Shannon Home Health, and her special friends and caregivers: Aurora Lozano, Daija, Rebeckah, Ciria, and Maria, for their compassionate care and support.

Being self-taught and hardworking, Roy survived the good and bad times of the oil/gas business always with a positive “can do” attitude. Roy Sr. was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who was so proud of his family and what he had accomplished. Although a workaholic, he found and made the time for his family.

He will be remembered as someone who worked hard and taught his children to do the same. A man that had his integrity and honor and whose word meant something. He cherished his friends and was always the perfect gentlemen. Roy loved to cook and was famous for his hot rolls and liked to have his dishes rated on a scale of 1-10. Roy was a 10 on our scale. A conservative man, but who was accepting, generous and giving and who had a heart the size of Texas. Roy struggled with Dementia in his later years, but his wit, charm and love shown through. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Melissa, Vivian, Maria & Clinton who provided loving home health care and support.
