The Justice Department announced Monday recent actions taken against two foreign nationals charged with deploying Sodinokibi/REvil ransomware to attack businesses and government entities in the United States.
The Abilene Police Department Major Investigation Bureau, with the assistance of Patrol, arrested 56-year-old Carlos Smith of Abilene Wednesday afternoon.
Dwayne Evans discharged the firearm, striking one of the kidnapping victims. Following the shooting, two kidnapping victims inside the vehicle were able to escape.
