Suspect Dead After Double Shooting In Big Spring

BIG SPRING, TX –– A suspected suicide and attempted murder of two individuals kept Big Spring officials busy during the early hours of Tuesday.

According to the Big Spring Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Carey Street just before 1:00 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene they located two gunshot wound victims outside the home. The victims, identified as a 42-year-old Hispanic female and a 26-year-old White male, were treated at the scene by EMS. The female told officers they had been shot by Danny Crosby, who was inside the home.

Upon entering the house, officers found the 62-year-old Black male laying on the ground with a gunshot wound. The firearm was found near Crosby.

All three victims were transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center for treatment, but the Hispanic female and White male were later airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

The female victim is in stable condition, while the male victim remains in critical condition.

Crosby would ultimately succumb to his injuries and be pronounced deceased by the Justice of the Peace at SMMC.

The preliminary investigation suggests Crosby was inside his home with the other two victims when he shot them and then turned the gun on himself.

The shooting remains under investigation.
