City of San Angelo

Standard Conservation in Effect — San Angelo is in standard conservation, which restricts outside watering to twice every seven days at no more than one inch per week from Apr. 1 through Oct. 31. Watering is prohibited between the hours of noon and 6 p.m. during these months. Runoff of more than 150 feet down any street, gutter, alley or ditch is also prohibited. More instructions are at the City of San Angelo.

Thanks to a labyrinth of exemptions, homesteaders aged 65 and older will experience little to no change in their property taxes. On the other hand, renters are the most vulnerable to rising housing costs if the bond passes.

    SAN ANGELO, TX — Newly installed San Angelo Chamber of Commerce President Steve Ahlenius made a case for the San Angelo ISD’s upcoming bond during a Friday address to the Rotary Club. He argued that passing the bond is vital for the community’s future. The district is considering a $403 million construction bond, possibly split into two ballot choices: $112 million for a new Glenn Middle School and $281 million for district-wide upgrades. The final decision on the bond amount will come next school board meeting and the ballot referendum will likely be placed on the May 2025 ballot .
