Louis William Kadlacek , age 94, slipped the surly bonds of earth on August 6th and is now in glory with God. Born on May 21, 1927 in Westphalia, TX to William Louis Kadlacek and Elizabeth Helen Kadlacek (Reinders) – the oldest of five children. He finished the 10th grade at Olfen and was drafted into the Army Air Force at the age of 17 where he served in Germany at the end of WWII. 

Louis married Allene Ruth Menke on August 2, 1949. He later married Billie Douglas and was with her til her death.  

Louis is survived by son Steven (Diane) and daughter Linda; grandsons Cory (Lisa) and Nicholas (Stasey) & great grandchildren: Colton, Alyssa and Hadley; Siblings Rose Marie, Elsie and Raymond. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth and sibling James. 

Graveside services will be Tues, Aug 10th at 10am at St. Ambrose Cemetery in Wall with Deacon Floyd Schwartz as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, please reach out to someone you have lost touch with or have a difference with and make amends – tell them you love them, forgive them or ask for their forgiveness.

Marissa Ann Gasca, age 44, entered the gates of Heaven on August 4, 2021 in San Angelo.

Public viewing will be on Thursday, August 12 from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM at Robert Massie Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Calvary Cemetery. Marissa was born June 22, 1977 in San Angelo to Juan Manuel and Mary Louise Flores Gasca. Marissa worked for MHMR for over twenty years before her health prevented her working. She loved her work and caring for her clients.

Marissa had a huge heart and loved her family fiercely. She cherished her children and granddaughter.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Ebony Monique Gasca, Bobby Josiah Gasca and Samuel Anumuku Njemanze Jr.; her sister, Monica Davis and her husband Henry Jr.; her aunt Mary Ann Flores; her nieces and nephews, Nyla Davis, Malina Davis and Wesley Davis; her precious granddaughter, Marianna Nickole-Louise Gasca; and also the Walker family who has always been our support and family.

Jerry Tounget, age 78 of San Angelo passed away on August 6, 2021 at his home in San Angelo.

A graveside inurnment service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the Christoval Cemetery in Christoval, Texas. Chaplain Scott Melton of Hospice of San Angelo will officiate. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home.


Jerry was born in Ballinger, TX on April 20, 1943 to Zach and Wade Tounget. He grew up in Christoval and played a little 6 man football at Christoval High. After graduation he worked different jobs for a living but his longest occupation was driving a truck. Jerry lived most his life in west central and west Texas....For fun, Jerry dabbled in Quarter Horse racing at Wilkie Downs in San Angelo, took a few vacation trips, ran a few cows and liked to go camping at Big Bend.

After he retired, life slowed down for Jerry, but he always enjoyed the moment he was living. He always knew what was happening on his street, in his neighborhood, and in town. He was so well informed as to who was doing what to who and why! He was always up to date with the latest news!

Jerry really enjoyed a good conversation and liked to settle into a discussion whether short or long (he preferred long of course). He collected people and conversations, shared his heart and his opinions (oh boy) and you never talked to him without learning about the other important people and things he had gathered and collected since the last time you spoke.... And you knew if a conversation started with "Well, let me ask you this..", it was going to be good or at least interesting!

After a life of truck driving, Jerry was used to an early schedule and one of his favorite things to do was walk down to the corner store in the wee hours. He would get a free cup of coffee, grab a paper (at least until he decided it was worthless and stopped buying it) and chat with the store clerks. It was the best way to start his day he always said.

In addition to being a conversationalist, Jerry had a knack for travel; and for someone who did no driving and no longer owned a vehicle (for years!), he sure made it all over town! As he shared of himself in conversations and made friends, he could depend on his friends and family for a ride, and he never hesitated to ask!

While Jerry may not have communicated his feelings, he deeply appreciated his life and loved moseying through life and always, always loving those conversation and connection he made with those around him.

Jerry is lovingly survived by Survived by his son, Donald Tounget of Midlothian, TX; by his daughter, Rhonda Tounget of San Angelo, TX; his sister Patricia Filip of Carlsbad, TX; his brother Ricky Tounget of San Angelo, TX; his sister-in-law, Charlotte Tounget, his good friend, Butch Kirk; and his nephew, Dennis Filip.

Pinky Carruthers went to be with our Lord and savior on August 6, 2021, in San Angelo Texas. Pinky was born February 18, 1936, in Del Rio Texas. He is proceeded in death by his parents John and Selma Rosenow Carruthers and siblings Walter Lee and JoAnn Carruthers Bell and wife Joy Rose Carruthers and second wife Billye Latham Carruthers. 

He was survived by his son Cody Carruthers daughter in law Dale Carruthers, Todd and Trish Latham, Mickel and July Doyle and children and grandchildren of theirs. Papink’s beloved Grandchildren Yesenia and Beto Salgado, Korlee Carruthers, Carter Carruthers, Aaron and Valerie Lascano and Phillip and Hannah Lascano, and Great Grandchildren Anthony, Emily, Liam, Caspian and Ivan. 
In his early years he raised and showed registered rambouillet sheep and was a champion to be reckoned with he competed with some of the top names of the day and loved sharing the stories on how he managed to always take home the blue ribbon. He was recognized across the state for his prized sheep. He went on to raise sheep and was a leader in wool production throughout his younger years. 

Pinky was a third-generation rancher in Terrell County Pinky spent his life working on the ranch he could tell you all you ever wanted to know about the land and the livestock with such detail and a few good Ol’ stories thrown in for good measure. His love for the ranch was unmatched he even passed that love along to his son Cody. To know him was to love him Pinky had a way about him, and he could get you laughing so hard with his wit and in turn make himself laugh so hard he ends up choking on his chewing tobacco. If you knew Pinky you knew he loved his chew and was delighted when a fresh box arrived in the mail from an old friend that thought of him now and again. 

Pinky had a full blessed life he was married to Joy Rose Carruthers and Later on in life found love once again and married Billye Latham Carruthers. He always said he was the luckiest man in the whole world for finding love twice.  

A few things you should know about Pinky, well he loved good conversation with old friends laughing about the good old days, attending a roping and betting on his pick for the year whom he watched closely. Driving around the ranch early in the morning checking water and talking about the new fence being built. Taking the kids to the fishing hole or driving them around shooting jackrabbits and enjoying their faces as they walked in the door. He truly enjoyed his family and waited for a visit now and then. Terrell County was where he called home and to see it through his eyes was experiencing a good deer hunt, listening to the water fill up a tank, watching the sun set on the ranch and waiting to see what Cody had in store. Pinky and Cody were a team to be reckoned with when it came to getting things done. The Horseshoe Dot meant the world to him, and you always knew it once you traveled trough the gate. Enjoying one another and above all “Making a hand” as Pinky would say it was his way of saying get up and do something! 

You will be greatly missed cowboy; you sure did blaze a trail! Adios until we meet again.

Myrna Nadine Casbeer Turner passed peacefully from this life and to eternal rest on August 6, 2021 at 12:25 a.m. in San Angelo, Texas. Nadine was born to Daniel and Zelda Mae Casbeer in Midland, Texas in 1936 and lived the majority of her youth in Midland, Texas and Ft. Davis, Texas before moving to Kermit, Texas in 1953 where she attended and graduated from Kermit High School. In the spring of 1954, she met Albert Orval (Red) Turner, the man who was to become her devoted husband, love of her life, and life partner for the next 66 years. The two met on a double blind date in April, 1954, instantly had that “spark”, and married September 11, 1954. The newlyweds set up house in Kermit, Texas where they resided until their retirement to San Angelo in 1994. 

Nadine lived a full and blessed life as daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked for many years as an outstanding Sears Manager in Kermit, Texas. Through the years, Nadine had many passions: she loved following and supporting her children and grandchildren at sports events, traveling through national parks, square dancing, scrapbooking ( making gifts of them to all her children and grandchildren ), oil painting and trips to San Angelo’s Senior Center, and family genealogy. 
Nadine is preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws Albert Orval Turner Sr. and Daisy Mae Turner and one grandson, Michael Reynolds. She is survived by her husband Albert Orval (Red) Turner, her three children Janice Reynolds (Mike) of Joshua, Texas; John Turner (Tammie) of Bronte, Texas; and Robert (Bob) Turner (Evelyn Tyssen) of Clifton, Texas. Nadine believed her grandchildren were among her greatest blessings include: Stephen Reynolds (Jenny) of Denton, Texas; Anthony Reynolds of Joshua, Texas; John Turner Jr., of Big Spring, Texas; Kristi Rainey (D.J.) of Mertzon, Texas; Alyx Douglass (John) of Lubbock, Texas; and Staff Sgt. Kirby Turner (Kylee) of Swansboro, North Carolina. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren: Jocelyn, Cooper, Melanie, Baylee, Taylor, Dava, Ella, Kiera, and Jackson and three sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. 

Nadine will be forever in the hearts of those who knew her strong spirit and her love of conversation! 
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Harper Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Denise Marie Bloomquist loved the pursuit of a challenge and welcomed it. She welcomed her next challenge in partnership with God on August 4, 2021. She left knowing that she had created a community to carry on her legacy. Denise was born on August 26, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa to Gerald and Lena Bloomquist. After graduating from high school, she became a proud Hawkeye at the University of Iowa earning a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies. She then packed up her car and moved to Texas to earn a Master of Divinity and Master of Theology at Texas Christian University and fulfill her calling as a minister. Later, Denise embraced her love of governmental service and earned a Master of Public Administration from Angelo State University.  

They say the sum of one’s life is the mark they leave upon the world and Denise left a permanent mark that will never be erased. From her ministry at Central Christian Church in Comanche, First Christian Church in San Angelo, the Churches of Christ in Leicester, England and First Christian Church in Mertzon to her grant-writing and work with Project Janus, Inc, Denise gave her heart to build and strengthen her community. She brought the concepts of Stephen Ministry, Adult Day Care, School-To-Work, Summer Jobs for Youth, and Trauma-Informed Care to the Concho Valley and her grant writing efforts raised over $20 million dollars. Denise worked to create and build the Adult Day Care of San Angelo in memory of Mary Elizabeth Buttery. She then utilized those skills to serve as the liaison between the MHMR Board and contractor in renovating the MHMR Services of the Concho Valley building on Beauregard.  

She also supported her community through her work with State Representatives Junell and Campbell, if you had a problem, she was ‘on it’ and she would never give up until the problem was solved. She loved her Howard College and Angelo State University students and was always willing to provide advice and find support. She hoped to teach them a sense of civic responsibility; the true nature of the governmental process; and the difference between an academic source and a Facebook post. She was so many things to so many people: mom, grandma, sister, aunt, minister, House of Representatives District Manager, grant writer, construction project manager, radio host, college professor, amateur bowler, campaign manager, mentor, and friend. 

Denise enjoyed all of her jobs, but the jobs she enjoyed the most were being a grandmother, mother, friend, and cat-rescuer. She is survived by her son Ian Robinett and wife Roxie, granddaughter Lillian Robinett, brother Bill Bloomquist and wife Vicki, niece Alison Bloomquist and wife Jen Buyske and children Erik, Will, and Ryan, nephew Eric Bloomquist and girlfriend Hallie Cohen, and special aunts, uncles, and cousins. Denise believed that a family was made of the people who supported you and she was proud to belong to so many extended families. She is survived by members of her chosen family Mary Lackey, Pat Hines, Jack & Denise Barbour, Carl & Jerry Ann Butters, Dr. Cynthia Lackey, Jeff, Lori, Georgia, & Jackson Chandler, Angie, Gus, & Presley Reisner, Matthew McCone, Larisa Schoenhals, Ana Leyva, special neighbors, the rescue cats she lovingly called the Monroes, her First Christian Church family, her Foster Communications family, her political circle that always included members of both parties, her academic family, and her longtime friends and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her father Jerry, her mother Lena, her grandparents, her chosen son, Jeremy Lackey, her chosen family, John Hines, and her mentors Col. Edwin Buttery, Dick Burnett, and JoAnne Powell. 


Denise was moved by the simplest of joys, especially the random moments of silliness of being the crazy, goofy grandma with Lillian. Their unpredictable adventures were her cherished memories. In all that she accomplished, no moment was ever seen as an inconvenience, especially when it meant extending a helping hand. Many of her contributions were anonymous so it is safe to assume that if you are living and working in the Concho Valley, Denise has done something for you or your organization. She always showed up for those she loved in their times of need and celebrations. Her love for her extended family that she endearingly referred to as ‘the pack’ was unbreakable and unending. Contentment filled her days and kindness ruled her heart, yet she was never one to miss the opportunity to provide levity with a little snark. She was always willing to provide advice and never one to say I told you so, but oh you knew anyway. She had a fine-tuned malarky meter and knew that eventually others would see what she could see all along. 

She loved nothing more than giving and took such joy in finding gifts for others. She loved picking out music boxes for Lillian’s birthday, the perfect baby gift for her new great-niece, creative, imaginative gifts for her great-nephews, creative ways to send money to her niece and nephew, quirky gifts for her brother and sister-in-law, a year of lunches for Larisa for Christmas, the perfect gift baskets and surprise balls for Roxie, Lillian, and Ian, experiences for her family, girly gifts for Presley, daffodils for Vicki, tastes of Texas for Carl and Jerry, a room in a fully booked dorm for 2 boys who didn’t pay attention to deadlines, and the special poems and bookmarks for her church family. But, her favorite gifts to give were the jokes and mischievous gifts like the Mexican Pizza and Hippos she shared with her father, Whack-A-Mole during campaign season, a magic eight ball for Judge Junell’s tough decisions, a Doc McStuffins doctor kit for Cynthia’s graduation, a pack of Rolos for someone needing to watch their words in a meeting, government papers for Angie, Jeff, and Jeremy, the three stooges gifts, the nun collection, and the countless, unmentionable family jokes that appeared at the most unexpected times and under the Christmas tree. 

Denise left us as suddenly as she took on new challenges, so God must have needed the master of all trades for a special assignment. We will celebrate her life on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Lawnhaven Memorial Garden at 2:00 pm under the direction of Harper’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Project Janus, Inc. through the United Way or the First Christian Church in Mertzon, Texas.

Antonio "Tony" Trujillo, age 68 of San Angelo met his Savior at the gate of Heaven on August 7, 2021 in San Angelo.

Public viewing will be Friday, August 13th from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Robert Massie Funeral Home and on Saturday, August 14th from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM.
Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. The family requests that masks be worn and social distancing is observed.

Tony was born July 17, 1953 in San Felipe, Guanajuato, Mexico.

For many years Antonio farmed in Childress and Paducah for B. L. Carrick. Once he moved to San Angelo, he began working with Mike Poulter and Gary Pfluger at Fixture Concepts and Acme Installation. He loved working with Dale, Danny White, Ruben Magallen and so many others. He enjoyed his work where he learned how to build cabinets and later with Acme he traveled all over the country installing cabinetry that he helped build. Had his health not declined he would still be working!

Tony also liked to watch football on Sundays and worked in his garden in the afternoon.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening. The fruits and veggies of his labor were shared with family and friends alike. He was known for the tasty squash, cantaloupe, and chilies that he grew. The entire family helped out in the garden.

He was a loving husband and father, who raised his step children as his own. Tony played with the boys and cooked out a lot cherishing time together. He would help anyone who needed it. Tony was always happy and had a great sense of humor. He was a kind big hearted man and cherished time spent with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

He is survived by his wife Susan; his mother, Juana Trujillo of San Felipe, GTO, Mexico; his step-children, Eric Perez Sr and his wife Jana, Melissa Canales and her husband Steven, and Albert Castro Jr and his wife Amanda; his siblings, Miguel Mata and his wife Maria of Oklahoma City, San Juana Mata Tujillo of San Felipe,GTO, Mexico, Augustina Mata Trujillo of Leon, GTO, Mexico, Jose Trujillo and his wife Olivia of Plainview and Ignacio Trujillo of Leon, GTO, Mexico; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Herbert Eric "Herbie" Duke know by many as "Pa Duke" went to join his loved ones at 10:00 pm on Saturday, July 31, 2021.

He was born on December 19, 1931, the youngest son of Herbert and May Duke Sr. He moved around the southern states as a laborer and finally settled in San Angelo, Texas in 1978.

Herbert has three sons, John Duke and wife Diane (deceased) of Bendale, Mississippi. Anthony "Joe" Duke and wife Anita of Mertzon, Texas., Ray Duke of Van Cleave, Mississippi. and one daughter, Beverly Jones and husband Melton of Bendale, Mississippi; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by one daughter Gwendolyn "Gwen" Allen, two sons Eric Duke and Andy Duke; one granddaughter Lisa Duke and one great granddaughter Airianna Martinez.

There will be a gathering at his home on East 17th Street San Angelo, Texas on Thursday August 12, 2021 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm for his Texas family and friends. There will also be a gathering in Alexandra, Louisiana on Saturday, August 14, 2021, for his Louisiana family and friends, time and location TBA.

Francine Baucham age 72 entered the gates of Heaven on August 2, 2021 in San Angelo.

The public is welcome to come pay their respects on Friday, August 6 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Robert Massie Funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Fairmount Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held in Francine's honor at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 7th at St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Green officiating. Francine was born June 12, 1949 in Jacksonville, Texas to Jeffie and Alpha Clemmons. Francine joined church at an early age. Francine graduated from Fred Douglas High School and attended Lon Morris, a private college located in Jacksonville.

Francine moved to San Angelo, Texas in 1974 where she met the love of her life, Kelly Baucham and joined St. Paul Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Hoover Lemons. Kelly and Francine were married on December 24, 1976 and to this union Kelli Siobhan was born. Now Francine had two Kellys to love and love them she did. Francine loved to talk about her family and if you knew her, you've heard the story of Kelli's premature birth and how God worked a miracle.

Francine was employed by General Telephone Company for 30 years where she worked in various departments. After retirement she worked as church secretary for several years before taking a job at Sitel Inc. Francine worked at Sitel until her health declined in 2019.

Under the leadership of Pastor Fredd B. Adams, Sister Francine worked in the youth department, sung in the choir, worked on the finance committee and the kitchen committee. Before her health started to fail, she came back part-time and helped out as Rev. Green's secretary. Francine was an asset when it cam to anything that had to do with making church bulletins and other computer related skills, which was demonstrated many times as a member of the Cosmopolitan Social Club.

At 5:30 PM on August 2, 2021, the Lord called his good and faithful servant home. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 44 years, Kelly Baucham; her daughter, Kelli Siobhan; her brother, Willie Clemmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, special friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeffie and Alpha Clemmons.

Dela Jean Gibbs Terrill passed away August 3, 2021. She was the daughter of Harold and Norma Gibbs, born in 1942 in San Angelo, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Buddy Gibbs. 

Dela was married to Joel B. (Burt) Terrill for 57 wonderful years. Their children are Craig Terrill and wife Melodi, children Ryan, Ashley Kendrick (Jordan), and Brooke: Mike Terrill and wife Melani, children Mason and Megan: Tammy Terrill Glass and Jason, children Laurel Kate and Hunter. These children and grandchildren were the very pride of her life. 

Dela graduated from Baylor University in 1963 with degrees in English and History. She and Burt married in June of 1963 and traveled extensively while he was in the Army for 10 years. In 1973 they moved back to San Angelo. A consummate American woman, Dela filled many roles of homemaker, community and church participant and paid professional. She was a supportive Army wife, partner in the community through San Angelo Junior League, Philia Women’s club (three times president), Republican Women, Cultural Affairs Council, Santa Rita PTA for 14 years, Baptist Retirement Board, Hospice of San Angelo, Meals for the Elderly and Salvation Army Boards. Dela and Burt chaired Fiesta Del Concho in June 1980. 

The Terrills grew up together at First Baptist Church of San Angelo to which they returned in 1974. In 1997 they moved to Glen Meadows Baptist Church where they both took responsibilities as they had at First Baptist. 

Dela worked professionally as a high school English teacher, as director of the Child Development Center and Montessori Kindergarten at First Baptist from 1984-1994, as owner/manager of Belvedere Cemetery for seven years until she sold it and as co-manager of a Water Valley Ranch and Brownwood ranch. 

Dela hosted family holiday dinners, bridge and 42 groups with poise and grace. She always had time for late afternoon Chinese Checkers with her husband and card games with her seven grandchildren. She read a lot, enjoyed home décor, antiques, and flowers as evidenced by her yard. She was a strong Christian which was reflected in her life of caring for others. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Harper Funeral Home from 2:00pm-4:00pm. Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at First Baptist Church at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Belvedere Memorial Cemetery.
