Barbara was an amazing woman of character with many talents. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, God-loving woman, soloist in her church, artist, gardener, fisherman, and great cook. She lived a full life and was a very strong woman who was a walking miracle! She lived two thirds of her life with only one kidney, was a survivor of five different cancers, two hip replacements, a knee replacement and she never let any of it get her down.

With great love, Oscar and Barbara were married for 56 years. Their marriage was a true partnership and an inspiration to others. They worked together in their business, Wagnor Construction Company. They collaborated on every bid and as the bookkeeper, she was very proud that after undergoing an audit, the IRS owed them an additional refund!

Barbara was a faithful, woman of God. She cherished her faith and being a member of the Baptist Church. Over her lifetime here in San Angelo, she was a member of several churches. Most notably, Oscar and Barbara were Charter Members of Lake View Baptist Church who worshiped there for almost 50 years. She was happy to recount that they had laid some of the first bricks. Most recently, she attended Fort Concho Church. She loved that Daniel Ortiz, the grandson of one of her dear friends and son of a couple she long respected for their children's ministry, was Pastor. Barbara's solos at church were a real treat for all in attendance. Wherever she worshipped, she was generous with her talents and treasure.

She was a gifted artist. Barbara was an amazing China Painter, who won multiple blue ribbons at the local and Texas State fairs. She went on to teach porcelain arts and won even more ribbons in the Instructor Category. She was the President of the San Angelo Chapter of the Texas State Federation of Porcelain Art Clubs for many years. Barbara enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, ceramics, & embroidery. Whatever she touched became a thing of beauty. She was prolific in all these mediums and readily shared the fruits of her labor with all her loved ones.

When it came to the outdoors, she loved gardening, raising farm animals, and fishing. Barbara grew some of the most beautiful irises and lilies. She often lost sleep bottle feeding orphaned farm animals and loved to fish, especially for catfish!

She was a homemaker. She sewed clothes for all her children and made the best enchiladas, burritos, cakes, and cookies you could imagine. One felt fortunate to be called to her table.

Barbara was a matriarch, friend, and role model. She was good to everyone and was fun to be around. She told stories with laughter and enthusiasm, was always there to listen, and gave great advice.
