Evelyn Evans

08/21/2025 - 15:26 , by TKing09

With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Evelyn Pearl Evans, who left this world on Friday, August 8, 2025, in Menard, Texas.

Born on May 22, 1951, to Harold and Lillian Wright, Evelyn grew up in San Angelo, Texas, alongside her four beloved sisters: Marilyn, Rosie, Linda, and Violet. She attended Lakeview High School before the family moved to De Leon, where she continued to build a life rooted in faith, family, and kindness.

It was in Texas that Evelyn met and married, Daniel Nason. Together, they built their family. As a devoted wife and mother, Evelyn found her greatest joy in raising their three children—Diane, Jason, and Michelle. She was not only their chauffeur and cheerleader but their constant source of encouragement, strength, and love. Whether it was a school event, a bingo night, or a spontaneous sing-along, Evelyn showed up with joy in her heart and a smile on her face.

Evelyn raised her family in San Angelo, where her home became a haven of open arms and delicious meals—especially hamburgers and Cokes delivered with love. She later moved to Menard to be closer to her sisters, where she continued to spread joy to everyone she met.

Her passions were simple yet profound: bingo nights, arts and crafts, prayer meetings, music, church, exercise, and singing and dancing to “Long Black Train” by Josh Turner. Evelyn had a gift for making every day special. She could lift your spirits with a hug, style your hair or nails with love, and light up a room with her laugh.

More than anything, Evelyn was the proud grandmother of five cherished grandchildren: Connor, Ethan, Jeremy, Brian, and Rochelle Lynn. She adored every moment spent with them, and her legacy of unconditional love will live on through their hearts and lives.

Evelyn’s spirit was gentle, generous, and joy-filled. She gave without hesitation, loved without limits, and lived with an open heart.

She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and eternally loved by her children, grandchildren, sisters, extended family, and every soul lucky enough to be embraced by one of her unforgettable hugs.

Services will be held for Evelyn at Calvary Baptist Church at a later date.
