Patricia Jean Talley

04/24/2025 - 09:20 , by TKing09

Patricia Jean Barth Talley transcended peacefully from this life on April 19, 2025, at the age of 93.

Patty was born September 14, 1931, in San Angelo, Texas, daughter of Aurelia Cuff Barth and Albert Richard Barth. She attended and graduated from San Angelo Central High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin and later Angelo State University.

She met the love of her life, Edgar Rich Talley, when she was fifteen. They married five years later in Austin on February 8, 1951. They both were lifelong residents of San Angelo and each was the only child in their family. Patty and Edgar had a long and happy marriage until his passing in 2005.

Patty was a devout Catholic and prayed the rosary daily. She sang in the Holy Angels adult choir for over 30 years and also sang in the Saturday evening choir for five years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Holy Angels Women’s Society, the Texas A&M Mother’s Club, the Business and Professional Women’s Club, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and received the Order of the Rose. Patty worked in the family business, The Talley Press, alongside her husband, in-laws, and her sons.

Besides her children and grandchildren, her greatest joy was sewing. Granny crafted many “twirly” Easter dresses for her granddaughters. During the holiday season she participated in the Salvation Army’s dress a doll drive. Patty would pick up six undressed dolls and return each of them in a beautiful one-of-a-kind ballgown and hat. Her creativity soared highest with her fabric mosaic wall hangings. She entered her fabric art in the annual San Angelo Fat Stock Show and came home with ribbons.

She was an excellent cook always perfecting and testing new recipes and remembering everyone’s favorite dishes. She was poised, graceful, and giving with a little bit of sass on the side.

Patty and Edgar’s travels took them around the world time and again. They went places and did things most of us only see on television. They flew in a hot air balloon over the planes of the Serengeti in the shadow of Kilimanjaro following the migration of wildebeest. They rode elephants, flew in helicopters, and they boated the Amazon in a dugout canoe. They visited Europe, Africa, South America, China, the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, Australia, Thailand, Nepal and India – repeatedly traveling to Africa and South America. Patty was the videographer and Edgar the photographer.

Patty was predeceased by her husband, Edgar, and her granddaughter, Bryn Nicole Talley. She is survived by her children Stephen Talley and wife Penny of Covington, Washington, Vance Talley of Grape Creek, Greg Talley and wife Susan of Liberty Hill, and Jeanette Talley Driskell and husband John of San Angelo; grandchildren Diana Talley and husband Matt Rizzo of Seattle, Washington, Susan Talley Engdahl and husband Patrick of Lake Tapps, Washington, David-Lex Talley and wife Rachel of Lompoc, California, Amelia Talley Littlefield and husband Andrew of Lubbock, Joseph Talley of Mesa, Arizona, Mandee Talley Holmes and husband Jason of Brookshire, and Jessica Driskell of San Angelo. Patty was also blessed with eight great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Talley, Greg Talley, John Driskell, Andrew Littlefield, Jason Holmes, and Steve Ortiz.

Special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and especially to the Memory Care Staff (Aioleen, Dezeray, Mina, Stephanie, Julie, Alicia, Maggie, Pappianna, and Jocelyn) at Brayden Park for their devoted love and care.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Harper’s Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Holy Angels Church. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Afterwards a reception will be held at the Adult Faith room at Holy Angels Church.

Patty’s favorite charities are Mt. Carmel Hermitage, Meals for the Elderly, and Concho Valley Food Bank.

Debra Clarise Lohman

04/24/2025 - 09:17 , by TKing09

In Loving Memory of Debra "Debby" Clarise Eichman Lohman

September 9, 1954 – April 20, 2025

Debra "Debby" Clarise Eichman Lohman, born in Brownsville, Texas, on September 9, 1954, peacefully passed away on April 20, 2025, in Bronte, Texas. She was 70 years old.

The eldest of six children born to the late William and Barbara Zimmerman Eichman, Debby is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, David Wayne Lohman, Sr., whom she married on March 19, 1975—a union that stood as a testament to devotion, laughter, and lifelong companionship.

Debby is also survived by her siblings: Sandra Eichman of Flower Mound, Texas; Donna Eichman Martin and brother-in-law Jackie Martin of Irving, Texas; David Eichman of Bonham, Texas; Vicki Eichman Potts and brother-in-law Larry Potts of Brashear, Texas; and Joseph Eichman of Alvord, Texas.

She was a mother to three children: Phaedra Clarise Lohman Homuth and son-in-law Thomas Homuth; David Wayne Lohman, Jr.; and Barbie Marie Lohman Arthur and son-in-law Drake Arthur.

Debby adored her grandchildren: Alaura Homuth Jimerson and husband Laveren Jimerson, Jennifer Homuth, Rachelle Arthur, Abigail Arthur, and William Seemann III. Her joy extended into the next generation with her great-grandson, Jaden Jimerson.

Debby met David in 1972, and it was love at first sight. A proud Texan through and through, she never missed an opportunity to share her warmth and humor—like the time in Germany when she greeted locals with a cheerful “Guten Tag, y’all!” A dedicated Army wife, she supported David across many stations around the world, especially during their memorable years in Germany.

Her service extended beyond family—Debby gave her time as a volunteer dispatcher for the Nolanville Fire Department, a Girl Scout troop leader, and a Boy Scout Den Mother.

A lover of arts and crafts, Debby could often be found sewing wedding gowns and tuxedos for teddy bears and dolls, creating intricate name doodles, or tackling the latest cross search puzzle.

Please join her family for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas. Visitation with the family will be from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by a chapel service. All are welcome to share in a brisket meal and fellowship afterward at daughter Barbie’s home in Robert Lee.

Nadine Elder

04/24/2025 - 09:14 , by TKing09

Nadine Elder, 96, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and matriarch of the Family, met her Lord and Savior on Good Friday, April 18, 2025. Nadine was born in Posey, Texas on November 22, 1928 to Lois and Kyle Hart on the family farm. Nadine, along with her three sisters, grew up during the Great Depression. Although they didn’t have much, her parents created a Christ-centered and loving home life. Nadine’s mother took her daughters to the Lubbock library where they studied and read for several hours. This created a life-long love of reading that Nadine had until she lost her vision.

Nadine met her husband, Grady Lee Elder Jr, in high school. They went on to Texas Tech and married on August 8, 1948, in Slaton, Texas. They had an amazing 60-year marriage! Grady’s career as Chamber of Commerce manager started in Spur and moved the Elder family to Brownfield, Snyder, Mineral Wells, San Angelo and Plainview. They finally retired in Destin, FL. Through all the moves, Nadine was the charming and dedicated wife who settled the family into each new location; she was the heartbeat of the family.

Nadine’s greatest treasures were her two sons, Grady and John, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You never met a more adoring and devoted mother, grandmother, or great-grandmother. “Dean Dean”, as she was called by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, would spoil each child with their favorite dishes every time they came for a visit. Dean Dean had a love of cooking, perfecting the famous “Dean’s Rum Cake”. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, travelling with Grady, hosting large family get-togethers, talking for hours on the phone with her sisters, and studying the Bible. Nadine always had the most gorgeous backyard, she spent hours on her hands and knees gardening. She also enjoyed working as a volunteer through the Shannon Hospital Auxiliary. Nadine loved to take pictures, and made sure her family had multiple photo albums to commemorate all of the wonderful times together. Dean Dean loved the Lord, and said the best decision of her life was when she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a young girl. Nadine moved back to San Angelo, TX in 2016, she made it very clear to the next generation how important a relationship with Jesus Christ is.

Nadine is survived by her son, John Stephen Elder of San Augustine, TX; daughter-in-law, Connie Elder of Destin, FL; five grandchildren, Jason (Kristin) Elder of Destin, FL, Elizabeth (David) Chambers of San Angelo, TX; Ross (fiancé Laura) Elder of Chattanooga, TN; Stephen (Wynne) Elder of Bryan, TX and Alexandrea Elder of Houston, TX. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Francene James of Lubbock and Linda (Bob) of Fort Worth, and many nieces and nephews. Nadine also had a very special bond with her former daughters-in-law, Martha Elder and Sherry Donovan.

Nadine is preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lee Elder Jr., her son, Grady Lee Elder III, her parents, Lois and Kyle Hart, her sister, Juanell Johnson, and two grandchildren, Scarlett and Savannah Beasley.

We want to give a special thanks to Nadine’s wonderful caregivers: Mandy Sosa, Viola Pena, Monica Gutierrez and Pat Chappa. Also, to Dr. John Harvey and Dr. Rudy Haddad for their extra care and attention over the years. Memorials in her honor can be made to the American Cancer Society or Meals for the Elderly.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, April 27 at Southland Baptist Church in San Angelo, Texas with Pastor Chris Curran officiating and under the direction of Harper Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be: Jason Elder, Ross Elder, Stephen Elder, Lawson Chambers, David Chambers and Kevin McGinnis.

Eddie Lee Watson

04/24/2025 - 09:12 , by TKing09

Our dear Dad, Eddie Watson, passed away on Apr 20, 2025, at home with his daughters at his side, in San Angelo, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66yrs, Janice in July of 2024, and is survived by his daughters Vicki Keck and Kheva Flowers, his 5 grandchildren Mark Keck Jr and family, Cassie Garrison and family, Kinsey Aryn Keck, Tyler Travis and family, and Brady Flowers and family.

Eddie was a simple man, a devoted husband and father. He was humble and took pride in working hard and caring for his family. He had an easy-going personality and was well respected by those who knew and worked with him. Dad was born in St Louis, Missouri and he recently stated that relocating to Texas in 1968 was the best decision he ever made.

Dad’s passions in life were his wife, children, a few good dogs, and creating a peaceful haven out of his yard for his grandkids to run, play, hunt Easter eggs, and throw water balloons. Can’t forget how he loved to work the grill and produce mouth-watering meals for us! Dad was the behind-the-scenes support, enabling the fun and sometimes elaborate activities and celebrations his wife, our mother Janice, came up with. Together they loved each other, being grandparents, and creating fun, laugh-out-loud memories with their 5 grandchildren.

He and mom had such fun helping orchestrate family reunions in Missouri, and going to Branson for long weekends. Dad really enjoyed going into little shops and looking through seemingly insignificant treasures. Late in life, Dad’s vision began to fail him, and he would often be found sitting outside with his bestie, Drifter D, at his side, just enjoying the peace and quiet, but prior to that he enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, doing puzzles, and solving word searches.

Our dad was a success in all the ways that matter: he loved, he supported, he nurtured, he listened, and he provided. He made his children proud, and our hope is that he left this life knowing how much he was appreciated and loved.

In lieu of flowers please send any donations to Hospice of San Angelo.
