Adam J. Martinez, 45, of San Angelo, passed away on January 3, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas. 
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall, Tx. Interment will follow in the Eola-Mereta Cemetery in Mereta. Services have been entrusted to the Gutierrez family and Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North. 
Mr. Martinez was born April 8, 1968 in San Angelo. After graduating from Wall High School he attended Ranger Jr. College and then Sul Ross University. He was an excellent cabinet maker, following the trade his father taught him. He had many satisfied and happy customers due to his great sense of humor and outgoing personality. He was a great sports aficionado. He loved football, baseball, track and other sports. During his school years he won many sports medals. Adam loved spending time with his family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter. He will be remembered as a great father, brother, son and grandson. 
Survivors include his parents, Manuel and Rosa Martinez of Mereta, his daughter Jaylynn Martinez of San Angelo and two brothers, Manuel J. Martinez Jr. and Anthony J. Martinez and wife Mari both of Mereta. Other survivors include his maternal grandparents, Domingo and Basilia Ramirez and niece and nephew Emma and Ethan and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. 
Pallbearers will be his cousins, Andy, R.J., Kristopher, Bobby Joe, Michael, Roland, Abel, Adrian, Steven, Rusty, Paul, Jason, Greg, Ronnie, Cody and David. Honorary pallbearers will be Vincent, Matthew, Kelvin, Simon (Pee Wee), Adam III, Zadrian, the Mereta Mustangs, Wall Class of 86 land the 80’s and 90’s Sul Ross Lobos. 
The Martinez family would like to thank all of the friends and relatives for their support and prayers during Adam’s illness. The would also like to express their appreciation to the medical staff at the Sweetwater hospital and Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Tx.
