Clovis Harvey (Country) Olsak, prominent Tom Green County rancher and farmer, died Jan. 16, 2014.

Born in Runnels County, near Rowena, Nov. 8, 1924, to Rudolph and Clara Olsak, he grew up on the family farm and attended school in Veribest and graduated from San Angelo High School. Clovis was a natural athlete with a special interest in football and baseball. He attended San Angelo Jr. College and then Texas A&M on a football scholarship, graduating with a B.S. degree in Animal Husbandry.

He married Bettie Jeane Morris January 29, 1948. A lifelong resident of San Angelo, he was involved in many organizations throughout the years, serving in various positions of the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo, Texas Pecan Growers Assn., Texas Farm Bureau, Board of City Development, A.S.U. Alumni Assn., and West Texas A&M Club, in addition to many other organizations.

Clovis and Bettie loved dancing, sports, and the outdoors. Clovis farmed and ranched in Tom Green and Schleicher counties; recently, he was especially well-known for his pecan production. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at First Methodist Church.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Memorials may be sent to the charity of your choice.

Survivors include Bettie, his wife of 65 years; brother LeRoy Olsak; daughters Cindy Hanks, Stephanie Sayers and husband Chip and Connie Langlais and husband Dave; granddaughters Courtney Turpin, Lindsey Trojcak, Kimberly Sayers and Jessica Langlais; grandson Dave Langlais Jr.; and great-grandsons Grant and Jace Turpin and Adrian Langlais. Clovis is also survived by a large extended family of cousins and friends.

Charles H. Hight, 89, of San Angelo, joined his Lord on Jan. 17, 2014. He passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness.

Graveside service with military honors is at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in Little Saline Cemetery, London, Texas.

Charles was born on April 24, 1924, to George and Nellie Hight. He began service to his country in the US Navy serving during both World War II and Korea. He followed this with 30 years civil service for the US Air Force as a heating and refrigeration technician. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; their children, Phylista Dudzinski and husband Randy of Mexico Beach, Fla., Anita Hight and husband Steve Dahl of Albuquerque, N.M., Randy Byrd and wife Karla of San Angelo, Texas, Nita Jameson and husband Glyn of San Angelo, Texas and Michael Maples of Dallas, Texas; and 11 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a veteran's charity of your choice.
