Bynum Roxa Lee Jordan

SAN ANGELO Roxa Lee Jordan Bynum died in a local nursing home on May 8, 2014, she was 91. She was born May 7, 1923, in Kansas City, Missouri to parents Roy and Mable Jordan. She was married to Raynard Robert Bynum for 48 years. Robert died in 2002. Roxa spent much of her life in Missouri, California and Texas, working as a decorator. Roxa enjoyed her association with the San Angelo Art Club, serving four times as president. She was a volunteer at San Angelo Community Hospital and Meals on Wheels. Roxa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; and her younger sisters, Marjorie Bennett and Claire Edwards. She is survived by her son, Roy Alvin Bynum; niece Joan Sodowsky; nephews Lynn Curtis Edwards and Greg Bennett; also her very special church family; caregivers Virginia Maginness and Dora Terrazas; and many special friends that watched over her for so many years. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2014, at Cottonwood Cemetery in Cottonwood (Callahan County), Texas with Alvis Fisher of West Angelo Church of Christ officiating. Alford Huntley Lloyd

Lloyd Alford Huntley, 92, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 8, 2014, in a local care center. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Lloyd was born Aug. 22, 1921, in Arkansas. He proudly served in the Navy during World War II, during the invasion of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He worked at Wendland's Manufacturing for 33 years, he was shop foreman for many of those. He married the love of his life, Juanita Robertson Huntley, on Aug. 24, 1940. They spent 73 remarkable years together. Surviving Lloyd are wife Juanita; children Ronny Huntley, Laurette and Ray Ernst and Elaine and Tom Lee; and grandchildren Brian and Steve Huntley, Kenny Jo Tarin, Dallas Seals, Ella Nichols, Jeff Ernst, Chancey Burrows, Brande Hudson and Shelley Knowlton. Pop will also be missed by 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends may sign the online register book at johnsons-funeralhome.com.

Peiser Cliff H.

Cliff H. Peiser, 88 passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 13, 2014 at his residence. 

Family Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday May 14, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. 

Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Thursday May 15, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home with SAPD Chaplain Edward Lopez, officiating. Burial with honors provided by the San Angelo Police Honor Guard will follow at Mullins Cemetery under the directions of Robert Massie Funeral Home. 

Cliff was born in Tom Green County on May 3, 1926 to Cliffie H. and Bonnie Dell (Byrd) Peiser. Cliff proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy in a combat air crew as a seaman second class machinist’s mate. He was stationed at Memphis, TN, Norman, OK., and Jacksonville, FL.; he attended gunner’s school and machinist’s school during 1944 and 1945. 

He married Virginia Jeter on March 4, 1950 in Tyler, Texas and they shared 56 wonderful years together until she passed on September 14, 2006. They ran the Harley Davidson and the BMW dealerships in San Angelo. 

Cliff joined the San Angelo Police Department on August 23, 1951 and retired on January 31, 1985 after 34 years with the rank of Captain. He loved every minute of it. 

Pallbearers will be San Angelo Police Honor Guard and Cliff's fellow veteran officers 

Survivors include his daughter; Sara Peiser; brothers; Bill Peiser and wife, Beverly and Bobby Peiser and wife, Karen, sisters; Shirley Boatright, all of San Angelo and Kay Woerner of Marble Falls, numerous nieces and nephews. 

Donations in Cliff’s honor made be given to the San Angelo Police Officers Association at P.O. Box 201 San Angelo, Texas 76902.

Fairchild Katherine Elizabeth

Katherine Elizabeth Fairchild, 75, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2014 at a local hospital. 

Family visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Pastor James Miller officiating along with Mills Caraway. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. 

Katherine was born on October 15, 1938 in Plymouth, PA to Steven and Elizabeth (Novak) Oktisuk. She married Thomas Gerald in 1954 in Nanticoke, PA; Thomas passed away in October of 1980. Kathy was a stay at home mother to her 6 children and was like a mother to all the other children in the neighborhood. She loved to play bingo and skipbo with her family and friends. Kathy never met a stranger and always cooked enough for an army. 

She is survived by Son, David (Denise) Fairchild; Son, Robert Fairchild and Shelley Harris; Daughter, Pamela (Dale) Whitlock all of San Angelo; Son, Steven (Stephanie) Fairchild of Midland, TX; Brother, Mike (Maureen) Oktisuk of Plymouth, PA; grandchildren; Brandon, Sterling, Steven, Tommy Jo, Shannon, Michelle, Tonya, Jason, Kristen, Heather, Frankie, Brittney, Jonathan, Scott and Megan along with numerous great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be Steven Fairchild, Sterling Fairchild, Brandon Barnes, Tommie Fairchild, Frankie Flores, Scott Worley, Rodney Swearingen and Chris Whitlock. 

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sonya Barnes and Rodney Swearingen.

Lawson Tate Bobbie

Bobbie Lawson Tate, 82, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014 at her residence. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2014 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Services are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. 

Bobbie was born May 21, 1931 to Robert and Francis Simms Lawson in San Angelo. She married W.D. Tate on February 14, 1952 in San Angelo. Bobbie spent her life taking care of her home and family. She love to spend her spare time writing tales of all sorts. Bobbie enjoyed contributing to various charities and organizations. 

She was preceded in death by her parents 

Bobbie is survived by: husband W.D. Tate of San Angelo, son David Tate of Austin, Grandchildren Mason Tate and Sarah Tate of Austin, sisters Mozelle Wilson of Irving, Linda Hornow of Pearland, and Caroline Nutt of Conroe, brothers Edward Lawson of San Angelo and Ector Lawson and Altus, OK, and daughter-in-law Janet Tate of Austin.
