Leon S. Puckett, 80, of Grape Creek, a loving husband, father grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 7, 2014 in San Angelo.
Leon was born June 3, 1934 to Everett and Ruby (Stevens) Puckett in Gladewater, Texas. He worked for Ethicon as a manager for 25 years, retiring in 1986. He served his country for 2 years in the US Navy. He was a member and Deacon of Grape Creek Baptist Church since 1972. Leon thoroughly enjoyed his retirement and particularly enjoyed piddling with woodworking, gardening, being outdoors and vacationing in Colorado.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ellen Martin, brother-in-law, Joe Martin and a nephew, Mike Puckett.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dixie Puckett of Grape Creek; Daughter, Tammy Maricle and her husband Gary of Sterling City; Son, Steven Ray Puckett and his partner Steve Harris of Brownwood, and Rob Puckett and his partner Chuck Daniel of Dallas; brother, Milton Puckett and his wife Barbara of Andrews, Texas; Grandchildren, Thomas Maricle, Brandee Allen, Erric Blair and Karri Ruth Funderburk; great grandchildren, Bailey Blair, Kinsey Blair, Jasper Allen, Aiden Allen and one on the way at any time; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at 7:00 – 9:00 PM Friday at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Grape Creek Cemetery, with Rev. Brad Winchester officiating. Pallbearers will be Norman Priddy, Greg Priddy, Tim Martin, Joe Rutherford, Ken Stinson and Ray Mason.
In lieu of Flowers, Family request that donations be made to theAlzheimer's Association , Grape Creek Baptist Church or a favorite charity.
