Due to the nature of this tragedy a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel. Wayne was born April 7, 1958, in Burnet, Texas, to Frances Lee Pierce and Gary William Maher. He was a resident of San Angelo since 1962. He then gained the knowledge and abilities to own Wainer Built Construction. Wayne married his best friend and love of his life, Sharon L. Ogden, on Dec. 19, 1981. With this unity came two more blessings, Jeramy Wayne and April Denise Maher. He was given the opportunity by Sunoco Logistics to make a career change that he loved an allowed him to build his dream home with his loving wife and soulmate, Sharon, in life of 32 years. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish which he started at an early age with his best friend, Jerry Bruno. He had an undying love for fishing as much as he did for riding his motorcycles. Luke 23:34 But Jesus was saying "Father forgave them for they know not what they do". And they cast lots, dividing up his garments among themselves.
"Beyond the Sunset" Should you go first and I remain, to walk the road alone, I'll live in memories garden, dear. With happy days we've known. In spring I'll wait for rose's red, when faded, the lilacs blue. In early fall when brown leaves fall, I'll catch a glimpse of you. Should you go first and I remain, for battles to be fought, each thing You've touched along the way will be a hallowed spot. I'll hear your voice, I'll see your smile, tho blindly I may grope, The memory of your helping hand will buoy me on with hope. Should you go first and I remain, one thing I'll have you do Walk Slowly down that long long path, for soon I'll follow you. I want to know each step you take, so I may take the same. For someday down that lonely road you'll hear me call your name.

Robinson Darrell Lacy

09/11/2014 - 11:02 , by johnb

PFC Darrell Lacy Robinson, 23, entered into eternal life on August, 31, 2014. He was born on February 23, 1991 to Chetman L Robinson and Darnisha L. McClendon in Neu-Ulm Germany. He was active in gymnastics at Central High School in San Angelo, Texas and graduated in 2009. He went on to graduate from Howard College with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice in May 2012. Darrell joined the US Army and graduated from basic training/ AIT December 19, 2013. He was currently stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was a military policeman in the 550th Military Working Dog, 42nd Military Police Detachment, 503rd Military Police Battalion, 16th Military Police Brigade with his K9 partner, Raptor. Reading through his Facebook feed, one will see comment after comment of Darrell's affectionate character – how funny he was - always making people laugh with a joke or his remarkable dance moves. He was a great friend and confidante, a great listener, a gentleman – always opening doors for the ladies (Your daddy taught you well.). We see how much he encouraged people at work, through school and basic training, staying back to help a fellow friend/soldier get caught up. It also shows how much he meant to everyone he encountered. He was known for his infectious laugh and that funny look on his face when he couldn't stop laughing. He never passed you by without saying hello and giving you a smile and his gratitude for the smallest gifts, no matter how insignificant. He had the ability to make you feel special, always putting others ahead of himself – he never could say no. He was a true soldier, battle buddy, and friend. Darrell enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends. He always made time for those who meant the most – fishing with his dad, watching wrestling with his cousin and grandpa, dancing with his sister or calling her just to tell her something silly to make her laugh, making his mom laugh till they both cried. He would take the time to call his grandmothers just so they could hear his sweet voice or post a picture so they could see his smiling face. He enjoyed playing video games, catching a movie, and watching UFC with friends. Darrell had a beautiful soul. He brought laughter and smiles to everyone he met. He had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off of his back; always willing to lend a helping hand. Darrell was an amazing son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He will forever hold a special place in each of our hearts with memories that will last a lifetime. Darrell had a tattoo on his ribs that read Courage and Strong, taken from his grandmother, "Sana's" favorite passage, Joshua 1:7 - "Be Strong and Very Courageous." Darrell lived these words every day. From his willingness to try anything once, to his quickness to act on a silly dare, Darrell proved to be a true definition of Strength and Courage. He had a dream to join the military and become a Military Police Officer. It took a lot of courage for him to take that step, but he was living that dream. He completed one station unit training at Ft Leonard Wood, MO. He loved serving our country and especially training in the K9 unit with his beloved Raptor. His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon. Darrell was a true hero. Darrell is survived by his parents, SFC Chetman Robinson, U.S. Army, retired, San Angelo, TX, his mother, Darnisha McClendon and her husband Dale, Victorville, CA., sister, Dr. Siriaca Muchando and her husband Gerald, San Antonio, TX, brother, Brandon Wilson, San Angelo, TX, stepbrother Joshua McClendon, San Diego, CA and stepsister Diondra McClendon, Sacramento, CA; Grandparents Josue and Susan Rodriguez, Robert Lee, TX, and Leslie Williams, Lubbock, TX. Darrell is also survived by a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins that loved him very much, as well as, Giovanna Viggers, his best friend and his first love.
Darrell was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reverend Melvin Estelle Robinson and Edwina Anita Maria Robinson. His Journey's just begun: Don't think of him as gone away, his journey's just begun. Life holds so many facets the earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much! The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Friday, September 12, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 13, 2014 at The Christian Faith Center in San Angelo, Texas, with the Pastor Todd Nelson and Nigel Robinson, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo.
