James David Fielder

11/11/2015 - 16:13 , by johnb

DAVID FIELDER passed away suddenly on Monday, November 9th, 2015.

Dave was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on October 13, 1956. This isn't going to be a conventional obituary because David wasn't a conventional man. He never said he loved many people but if he loved you, you knew. He hated small talk but if you spoke to him he'd make you feel like you've been lifelong friends. The amount of slang and made-up "Fielder-isms" was a list that doesn't seem to end that included, "I can smell the writing on the wall", "Fits like socks on a rooster" or if you knew him you'd understand the meaning behind, "Go Chiefs!" He was known by many as Big Dav, and claimed his high school alias as "Thunder Dave", after his football career stardom at San Angelo Central where he has the longest touchdown rush from scrimmage, 99 yards. His most valued things that were left behind were his two boys, Cole and Cody and his two cats, Woody and Stinker. His boys weren't the type to give hugs, say "goodbye" or "I love you" when they left the house but they had the closest relationship between boys and father anyone could ever fathom. The cats were a close second as the most important thing in his life and kept him company when the boys moved away.

David was preceded in death by his father, Richard Fielder and his sister, Donnis Fielder. He is survived by his two sons, Cole and Cody Fielder, his mother, Shirley Fielder and brother Dickie Fielder.

Memorial location is still being determined and will be communicated through Facebook by end of day, Wednesday, January 11th. If you do not have a Facebook account, please send an email to [email protected] for further information.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity
