Kathleen (Kathy) Johnson, 71, of San Angelo, passed away Friday February 27th, 2015 at home with her family surrounding her with love. Kathy was born August 16th, 1943 in Esko, MN to Arthur and Helen Tan. 
Kathy had been employed with R.G.I.S. Inventory, Levi Strauss and Johnson Hot Oil. She loved spending time with family and friends. She especially loved swimming in the pool with her great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur Tan, Helen and Nick Nicholis; her husband, Dan Johnson; and her sister Marilyn Johnson.

 
She is survived by her brothers, Dave Tan (Sonja), Nick Nicholis (Jeanie); sister Gayle Beck (Bruce); sons, Steve Jacobs (Darla), Jimmy Jacobs (Kim), Jimmy Johnson (Jerita); daughters Shirl Avilez (George), LaVonne Benham (Clark) and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of Kathy's Life in the Spring for family and close friends. In Lieu of flowers please make any donations to San Angelo Hospice.

Arnold Lee Hill, 77, of Big Lake, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 26, 2015, surrounded by his family.
Lee was born June 19, 1937 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Oliver Roy and Ollie Mae McCuistion Hill. He worked as an oil field pumper for over 30 years and retired in 1989. He was a member of Faith Temple United Pentecostal Church in Big Lake for many years and was faithful about keeping the church lawns mowed and well maintained.
Lee married the love of his life, Danetta Barton, on April 2, 1976 in Big Lake and they spent 37 wonderful years together. His favorite hobby and pastime was woodworking and cracking pecans.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister and 1 great granddaughter
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Danetta Hill of Big Lake; Daughter, Diane Hill of Big Spring; sons, Tommy McNeill and wife Christy of Big Lake, and Donny Hill of Big Lake; Grandchildren, Amanda Brinkley, Cody McNeill, Patricia Gifford, Mariah Hill, Natalea Hill, all of Big Lake, Grayson Jones of Ballinger, Laramie Genn of Margate, Florida, Angela Genn of Stroud, Oklahoma, and David Gifford of Salem, Oregon; 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit and pay respects at Johnson's Funeral Home Sunday and Monday. Funeral Service will be held 12:00 Noon Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Wood officiating. Graveside service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday at Glen Rest Cemetery in Big Lake.

Sarah Pittman Howard was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father on February 23, after a brief illness. Born on March 11, 1920 in Slate Springs, Mississippi in the community of Dentontown, her parents Ernest and Myrtle Pittman named her Sarah Edd. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at the age of eleven and lived the remainder of her life in service to Him. 

"A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies" Proverbs 31:10. Fred D. Howard found the perfect wife at Wood Junior College in Mathiston, Mississippi and married Sarah Edd Pittman on December 24, 1940. They began life together in Fred's hometown, Fulton, MS.

When Fred was inducted into the U.S. Army and served in World War II, Sarah served as editor of her husband's newspaper, The Itawamba Times. When her husband received the call to preach, Sarah was willing to do whatever she could as a helpmate to her husband and in whatever the Lord wanted her to do. She and Fred both earned degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1955, with Fred earning his doctorate in Theology in 1957. Dr. and Mrs. Howard had six children when leaving seminary and spent their career years in Plainview, Texas. 

In addition to a seminary degree in Religious Education, Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayland Baptist University in 1964, and taught in the Plainview Public School system for 17 years. During her teaching career, she had many opportunities to minister to the migrant children in her classes. She taught them English (with a Mississippi accent) and gave them her love. It was not unusual for Sarah to make extra home visits or to bring a student in need of special attention home with her for the day, or overnight.

Sarah was involved in her community serving in the American Association of University Women, Hale County Extension Homemakers, and a member of Creative Quilters Club. At their church, College Heights Baptist, she served as Sunday school teacher, president of Women's Missionary Union (WMU), and led many Vacation Bible Schools. In 1986, her church recognized her as "Mother of the Year". 

Sarah never took a vacation from serving the Lord, her family, and community: it was her life. An incident that defines Sarah is the time when a woman unknown to her was driving through Plainview and involved in a car accident. Sarah held vigil in the comatose woman's hospital room until family members could arrive.

In 1991, Fred and Sarah moved to Baptist Memorials in San Angelo, where both were active members of First Baptist and involved in volunteer work. Sarah served as President of the Hospital Auxiliary and spent countless hours volunteering for the organization. She was a member of Concho Valley Quilters Guild and enjoyed the art with many friends.
"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things but you surpass them all" Proverbs 31:28-29. She and Fred were married for 59 years before he preceded her in death on April 14, 2000.

Sarah leaves to celebrate her life, five children: daughters Patricia Sikes of Georgetown, TX; Katrinka Park of Ruidoso, NM; Belinda Smith and husband, Steve of Wimberley, TX.; sons, David Howard and wife, Sioux of Kingsland, TX.; Kenny Howard of Sealy, TX.; 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death is a son, Richard Howard, two grandchildren, Brian Sikes and Melissa Howard, sons-in-law James E. Sikes and Donald Park and daughter-in-law Cynthia Duncum Howard.

 Florence Joe Ann Hendricks Gifford was born July 8, 1937 in San Saba, Texas and went to be with her heavenly father on February 25, 2015. She was preceded in death by husband Charles Gifford, brother James Berry Hendricks, grandson Troy Koen Jr., and parents Bernes and Bennie Hendricks. 
She married the love of her life, Charles Gifford, on June 7, 1955 in Paint Rock, Texas. They lived in Eden for a short time where they were blessed with two daughters Edith and Debbie. They would move to Odessa where their son Charles Dusty Gifford was born. Joe Ann worked at Ector County ISD for a while in food service. The majority of her life was spent in San Angelo where she worked at Grape Creek ISD as a food service worker and at San Angelo State School in housekeeping. She enjoyed working with the students and knew most of them by name. 
She is survived by daughter, Edith Koen and her husband Troy Koen, daughter, Debbie Hall and her husband Chris Hall, son Dusty Gifford and his wife Janene Gifford; grandchildren, Misti, Amber and husband Jeremy, Jessi, Christi and husband Josh, Ethan and wife Erika, and Cole; great grandchildren, Kayli, Brilee, Gavin, Bryson, Bradon, Harlee, Bailynn, Ella, Silas, and Emma. 
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the funeral home with family present form 6-8. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Eden Cemetery in Eden, Texas. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Grape Creek.

Richard G. Hernandez, 73, of San Angelo, went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2015. He was born in Welch, Texas, to Domingo and Herminda Hernandez who instilled in him the values of God, family, and hard work.

He had fond memories of living the simple life on a farm with a circle of cousins. The family later moved to Lamesa, Texas, where he resided until 1982 upon finally settling in San Angelo, Texas, for the remainder of his life.
He was employed by Sherwood Oil Co., later becoming West Texas Gas, where he established lasting relationships with Bernard Beck, as well as Curtis and Linda Day. His hobbies included camping, landscaping, and restoring classic cars. His pride and joy includes a 1950 Ford F-1 he affectionately dubbed "La Fordingita."

He is preceded in death by his parents, infant twins, and two brothers, Conrado and Elias Hernandez, all of Lamesa, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hernandez of San Angelo; two children,
Debbie Caballero and husband, SGM Richard R. Caballero of Copperas Cove, Texas, Homer Hernandez and Steve Waldren of Dallas, Texas; two granddaughters, Chelsea R. Cortez of San Angelo and Makayla R. Caballero, currently attending WTAMU in Canyon,Texas, and one great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Rhea Cortez of San Angelo.
Siblings include, Jimmy Hernandez of Lamesa; Helen Mendoza and Linda Gonzalez both of Snyder, Texas.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at Templo Elim, 610 S. Avenue F, Lamesa, Texas, 79331. A private graveside service in Lamesa is pending at a later date.

Jimmie Lumbley, 66, of San Angelo went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 at Shannon. Visitation will begin on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and continue on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Pastor Scooter McCurdy officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. 

Jimmie was born December 15, 1948 in Stanford, Texas. Her family and she moved to San Angelo when she was a young teenager. Jimmie went on to study cosmetology and later changed to a career in nursing as an LVN. She always had a giving and loving heart and touched the lives of many; her family, friends and of those who knew her, through her unfailing love and kindness for people and the Lord. Jimmie had a strong love and fondness for her church and Bible study group. There was never a moment that she wouldn’t lend a helping hand, be a shoulder to cry on, or a witness for God. Jimmie will always be remembered as a patient, compassionate and devoted Christian, mother and friend. 

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Doris and Bob Lumbley. 

She leaves several family members to celebrate her life. A son and daughter-in-law, Timothy & Erin Raines; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica & James Hughes; 3 grandchildren, Danika, Cayson & Alyssa; aunt, Floy Lumbley; cousins, Lisa, Nicky, Brandon & Calvin Pippin, Bobbie, Hollis, Daniel Haddock & Kimberlee Marcinko, Waylon & Tommy Wood, Sandy Williams, and James Worthy; along with several other cousins and close friends that she loved dearly. Pallbearers will include: Timothy Raines, Nicky, Brandon and Calvin Pippin, Riley Fincher, Hollis Haddock, Waylon & Tommy Wood. With honorary pallbearers James Hughes & Jackie Williams. 

She will be missed, but never forgotten. Her life will live on in the lives of those she touched throughout her many years. 

We would also like to extend a thank you to Dr. Steven Burgess and the caring team of Skilled Nurses at Shannon, St. Johns Campus. They were not only kind and compassionate, but went above and beyond to provide excellent care to our beloved Jimmie.

Rick Healey, 63 of San Angelo, Texas passed away on February 24, 2015 with his daughter at his side.
Rick was born in Dubuque, Iowa, on August 15, 1951. He graduated from Wahlert High School in 1969 and joined the United States Navy shortly thereafter. He moved to San Angelo in 1983. One of his greatest joys in life was joining the Hirschfeld Steel team in 1998 where he worked as their Dispatcher Supervisor for 17 years. Rick made many friends during his tenure with Hirschfeld and thought of his drivers and the transportation crew as family. 
Rick was known for his outspoken personality and his overwhelmingly generous heart. He enjoyed the simpler things in life, which consisted of westerns, John Wayne, the Dallas Cowboys, and going to the bar. He was a loving father and a dear friend to many. 
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Jeanette Healey; and sister, Mary Healey.
Rick is survived by his children, daughter Amanda Canada & husband Eric of Austin, TX; son Andrew Healey, of San Angelo, TX; daughter Sherry Harms & husband Robert of Fulton, MD; son James Healey & wife DeLila of Dubuque, IA; daughter Jennifer & husband Matthew Shimon of Dubque, IA and five grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers Daniel Healey, Joe Healey & wife Janice, Tym Healey and sister, Patty Healey.
Pallbearers will be Rick's close friends Ronnie Smith, Mike Neeley, Jimmy Peace, Jim Banta, Bobbie Crawford, Derek Smith, Toby Smith, and Max Chastain.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Rick’s friends from the Icehouse and Saddle Bronc for their continued love and support.
Memorials in honor of Rick's life can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
