Donna Kay Killam Longest, 65, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Fri., Nov. 11, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. She was the second daughter of four children born to David “D.T.” and Vida Lois Killam in Tom Green County on May 30, 1951. Kay was married to Steve Robertson and together they shared one child, their pride and joy, Tammy Michelle Robertson.
Kay had a passion early on in life to help and serve others. Early in her career she was a firefighter for the San Angelo Regional Airport where she drove the large aircraft firetruck. Having driven this large truck, it was no problem for Kay, a person of tiny stature, to be able to handle the large Suburban she later would be seen driving around town. She then pursued a career in law enforcement with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Dept. Then she moved on to work patrol for the San Angelo Police Dept. where she later would retire. After working for the SAPD, she moved on to working as an investigator for the County Attorney Family Violence Prosecution Unit. She was a former board member of the Concho Valley Rape Crisis Center. Kay attended College Hills Baptist Church with family and grandson Sean. Her most recent accomplishment was being elected Tom Green County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace for two terms. As someone involved in the Concho Valley Republican Women and Pachyderm Club, Kay recently insisted on making a stop at the drive-in voting location to cast her vote in the presidential election on a trip to the emergency room.
Kay had a love for life. She enjoyed family and friends, hunting and fishing. Kay could light up a room with her smile and spunky personality. It never mattered what kind of day she was having; she was always concerned about your day and was always there any way she could help. Kay is very loved and will be missed by many.
Kay is preceded in death by her father and stepmother Doris Killam, her mother, Vida Lois Killam, her older sister Carol Fisher, and younger brother Bob Killam, all of San Angelo. She also is preceded in death by her only daughter, Tammy Robertson Hayes. Kay is survived by her brother Don Killam and wife Barbara of San Angelo, stepbrother Greg Bouligny and wife Stevie, stepsister Carol William and husband Allan of San Antonio. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Kaci Griffith and husband Cody, Kleyton Kasner, and Hailie Hayes and six great-grandchildren—the oldest being the “Little Man” of her life and her campaign partner for the past 7 years, Sean Patrick Hayes.
The family wants to express its deep appreciation and thanks on Kay’s behalf to her cousin and special caregivers Mindy and Leonard Branaman, her office staff, Linda Simpson and Rachel Buck, and to the JPs who were all her best friends and helped her immeasurably during her illness. They would also like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Shannon Hospital for the exceptional care given to Kay during her illness.

“Mary” Zelma Henry ran into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, November 6, 2016 while in a local care facility at the age of 100. Mary was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Wife, Daughter in law, Mother, Mother in law, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin, and dear Friend.

Mary was born on July 27, 1916 in Midland, Texas to Ulysses S. Brown, Sr. and Lena Mae Hughes-Brown. Mary was the oldest of six children. She was a devoted daughter who helped her mom with all of her younger siblings, sacrificing her education to do so. Later in life, she studied and went on to get her GED.
She met and fell in love with Morris Albert Henry. At the young age of sixteen she left with him to Frederick, Oklahoma to be married on October 20, 1932. They were married for five years before starting a family together. Morris worked in the oilfield which enabled them to live in several places including Hideaway Park, CO, Craig, CO, Walters, OK, and on a Post Indian Reservation in Gallup, NM, finally settling in San Angelo, Texas to raise their four children.
While in Colorado, Mary began charcoal painting. She painted beautiful scenic views. She was so gifted in many ways. She maintained huge gardens, many plants and flowers. She always had a way with her pets, making them be on their best behavior. She left behind a sweet little Chihuahua named Buffy who she dearly loved.
Mary was a “no matter what” kind of mother. Widowed at 58, she worked hard and retired from the TB Sanitarium in Carlsbad, Texas where she worked in the laundry department and as a nurse’s aide. She held side jobs of babysitting and housekeeping to provide for her children, made her own patterns from newspapers to sew their clothing. Mary loved to cook and have the family over for huge family card games. The more the better she always said. She was known for her hospitality and strength.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, always taking them to the park, and having sleepovers. She absolutely loved the outdoors and she was thrilled to have lived to be 100 years of age. She always credited her good health to the good Lord and to Apple Cider Vinegar.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Fay Walter, grandson Billy Walter, great grandsons Nathan Walter and Scotty Henry, great great granddaughter Marissa Honea, siblings, Jim Brown, Ulysses S Brown (Jr), Chun Brown (Chubby), and Harold Brown.
