#COVER1 Bobcats Preview: Legendary San Angelo Stadium Announcer Sonny Cleere Bids Farewell

SAN ANGELO, TX -- After 38 years behind the microphone as the Central Bobcats stadium announcer, the legendary voice of the Angry Orange Sonny Cleere has announced his retirement.

For almost four decades Cleere's voice could be heard throughout San Angelo Stadium during Central Bobcat home games and was something like the New York Yankees legendary announcer Bob Sheppard.

An iconic voice that spoke to the fans, players, and coaches on Friday nights.

Cleere reminisced about some of his fondest memories as the Bobcats stadium announcer and what went into his decision to end his 38-year tenure as the voice of the Central Bobcats.

San Angelo ISD will honor Cleere before tonight's game when the Bobcats host Class 5A powerhouse Cedar Park.

John Flint has assumed Cleere's duties as voice of the Bobcats and can also be heard as the voice of the Lake View Chiefs.
