Lillie B. Valis, 73, went to be with Our Lord, Sunday, April 2, 2017.

Lillie was born April 20, 1943 in Uvalde, Texas. She was a long-time resident of Eldorado, Mertzon, and San Angelo, Texas. She worked for TX DOT for 10 years, then she worked along side her husband Martin in farming and ranching endeavors in Eldorado as well as owning and operating Heritage Haus clock shop in San Angelo. 

Lillie was a loving and hard-working woman who uncompromisingly provided for her family. She was a wonderful cook and an even more wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Lillie enjoyed reading, spending time with family and friends and was an active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Lillie also enjoyed working on the farm, with the livestock and mostly in the garden with her rose bushes and flowers. Her favorite flowers were irises and hibiscus. A few of her favorite things to do were to look out the window and watch the hummingbirds and take pictures. Lillie had an outgoing personality, she was able to talk to anyone and everyone, and she had never met a stranger. 

Lillie is survived by her husband, Martin, daughters Mary Corley and Melissa Hearn and her husband Donny, God-daughter and niece, Susan Simpson and her husband Richard, grandchildren Nancy Doty and her husband Cory, Michael Hearn, Bridgette Hearn, Angela Corley and Tristen Hearn, great-granddaughter Briley Banks, her brother Donal F. Bell, nephew Donal J. Bell and his wife Cassie and their children, her nieces Cindy Rogers and her husband Don, Kathy Williams, Sherri Wolf and many great nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie F. and Nannie Bell, mother-in-law Clara Valis, sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Hollis Krieger, brother- and sister-in-law, Maurice and Liz Valis, niece Julia Baker, nephew Charlie D. (Dusty) Bell and multiple brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Harper Funeral Home on Thursday April 6, 2017.

The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church on Friday April 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Charles Greenwell as celebrant.

The Family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations to be made to Meals on Wheels or to your favorite charity. 

Myra Dell Conn, 85, of San Angelo, passed away April 4, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Myra was born December 19, 1931, in Ft. Worth TX to William Henry Owen and Annie Lou Harcrow. She married B.F. Conn on December 19, 1949. 
Myra was preceded in death by her husband B.F. Conn, her daughter Beverly Conn Albrecht, brother Earl Owen, and sisters Thelma Horton and Beatrice McClure.
Myra and B.F. moved to San Angelo in 1963. Myra loved to visit with her friends and family, talking on the phone to them almost everyday. Her favorite activity was her afternoon visit to WhatABurger for coffee and cookies with her long time friends. She also loved shopping for antiques at garage sales and always stopped on the way home to buy a lotto ticket.
She is survived by her son John Conn and wife Debbie of San Angelo, sisters Mary Jenkins of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Dorothy Griffin of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Annabell Scortt of Lake Forest, California; grandchildren Shane Hall & Debbie of Mt, Belvieu, TX; Brent Hall & Renee’ of San Angelo; Chelsie Benson & Bryan of San Angelo; and Lindsey Conn of San Angelo; and 8 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors of the San Angelo Regional Cancer Treatment Center, Hospice of San Angelo, and special care givers Sara, Minnie, Olga, Yolanda, and Adrian for their love, support and special care during her illness.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of San Angelo or Meals For The Elderly. 
Family visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday April 6, at Harper Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be 10:00 am Friday April 7, in Fairmount Cemetery.

Raymond Alfred (Shorty) Granzin was born September 10, 1921, and departed this life on April 1, 2017, at his home in Miles, at the age of 95.
He was born the seventh of eight children to Otto and Louise Mueller Granzin in Walburg, Texas. They moved to Miles in 1923, where the family lived on a farm north of town. He graduated Miles High School in 1938, and worked on the family dairy farm until he entered the U.S. Army Air Force. He married Imelda Hart on November 27, 1943.
During the war years, he was stationed at Horham, England with the Eighth Air Force. He was a radio operator in a B-17 Flying Fortress and flew 35 missions over Germany and occupied Europe between 1944 and the war’s end in 1945.
Upon returning to Miles he began working in the grocery business, and later bought the Ideal Food Store, where he made and sold his family sausage recipe. In the 1970’s and 1980’s he raised and trained English Pointers for bird hunting.
He served his community in various ways. He was a board member and president of the Miles School Board in the 1950s and 1960s. He served as a trustee for the Miles Methodist Church, on the Region 15 Education Center governing board, as a director of the Independent Grocers, Inc., and as Miles City Councilman.
He was predeceased by his wife, Imelda, his parents, and his seven siblings. He is survived by his son, Kendal Granzin, and wife, Carol, two grandsons, Hunter and Nathan Granzin and their wives Jennifer and Brandi, a great grandson due in July, Oliver Raymond, several nieces and nephews, and two sisters in law, Gladys Hart and Joanna Hart.
A Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the First Methodist Church of Miles. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 am at the church with burial to follow at Miles Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bobby Kasberg, Charles Ehrig, Roman Meza, Gary Granzin, Stacy Granzin, Don Gordon, Rodney Gordon, and Paul Gordon, Jr. Arrangements are by Harper Funeral Home. 
There were many people who helped Shorty though the last years. Among them were his caregivers, Maria Gonzales, Elaine Baca, and Anahi Villarruel; his Pastor Gary Karshner; his great friends, Bobby Kasberg and Roman Meza, and his domino buddies, especially Fred Book, who drove him to and from the domino game after he could no longer drive. There are many others including all the good people of the senior citizen’s lunch group for whom the family is eternally grateful and his extended family at the Ideal Food Store including Cheryl Isham, Servando Carbajal, and Phil Sonnenberg.

Beatrice Evelyn Stewart Brown, 90, went peacefully to be with the Lord on March 29, 2017 in San Angelo, Texas. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by family and friends, as her pastor prayed and read scripture.

Born in Pickens County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Taylor Hillhouse and Sunni Arnita Medlin Stewart. She was an active young woman accustomed to the rigors of farm life, and followed her adventurous nature in to the Army Nurse Corps Training program at the University of South Carolina, where she met her future husband Wilton J. Brown, then a Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps student from San Antonio. After the end of World War II, Beatrice and Wilton were married and moved to San Antonio where she began her nursing career. They moved to San Angelo in 1953, where she balanced her career as a Registered Nurse with raising three sons and an active membership at Park Heights Baptist Church and Southland Baptist Church. She took up tennis in her forties, after retiring from nursing and achieved a top 10 ranking in Texas in the over 50 age group, continuing to play into her 80's.

Beatrice is preceded in death by her husband Wilton J. Brown, as well as three sisters and four brothers in South Carolina. In addition to one brother and three sisters in South Carolina, she is survived by three sons, Retired Tom Green County Judge Michael D. Brown of San Angelo, Colonel (USAF Ret.) Stephen D. Brown (Victoria) of San Antonio, Jeffrey J. Brown (Angela) of Ft. Worth, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday March 31st from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, April 1st at 11:00 AM at Southland Baptist Church, with interment to be held at Fairmount Cemetery on Monday, April 3rd at 11:00 AM.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Pastor Taylor Sandlin, who was at their mother's bedside in her final moments, and they request that any memorials in their mother's honor be made to Southland Baptist Church, in San Angelo, Texas
 

Robin Van Scalf of San Angelo, Texas passed away March 28th, 2017. He joins his mother and father, Dalton and Shirley Scalf in Heaven. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Kathy Scalf, his four sons, Jamie Scalf and wife JaneAnn of Montgomery, Texas, Joel Scalf and wife Heather of Amarillo, Texas, Nicholas Scalf and wife Arlene of San Angelo, Texas and Nathan Scalf of San Angelo, Texas. Also, surviving are his sisters, Linda Keys and husband Doug, Janice Pledger and husband Scott, and Sandy Baldock; brothers, Brian Scalf and wife Kim, Randy Scalf and wife Tina, and a plethora of nieces and nephews. The greatest joy of his life were his seven grandchildren, Evan (12), KayDee (9), Avery (9), Liddy (6), Luke (5), Lyla (3), and Millie (2). He was a wonderful provider, husband, father, and grandfather. He worked extremely hard to care for his family. Robin was the love of Kathy's life and her rock. He will be greatly missed. An open visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2017. Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger, Texas at 11 AM, Saturday, April 1st, 2017 with Vernon Ferguson officiating. 

Floyd Jennings, Jr., 85, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 27, 2017 in San Angelo surrounded by his loving family. Floyd was born July 22, 1931 in Fitzhugh, OK to Floyd Fay and Winnie Mae Hooper Jennings. He grew up in Oklahoma and moved to West Texas in 1955. He married the love of his life, Deloris Ann Mainord on May 29, 1953 and they shared 63 beautiful years together. Floyd worked in the petroleum industry for many years and retired in 1983. Floyd was a man of incredible faith and was called to become a minister in his next profession. In 1960, he became a full-time pastor and worked as a pastor and as an associate pastor at numerous churches in West Texas for over 55 years. He fully retired in 2015, but never ceased to teach and spread God’s word whenever he could. Floyd was above all, a loving husband father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his grandchildren and occasionally loved to go fishing as well. His incredible faith and his tremendous love for his family will always be cherished and he will live on in our hearts forever! Floyd was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Deloris Jennings, of San Angelo; his sons, Rick Jennings, of Brownwood, TX, and Jimmy Jennings, Sr., of San Angelo; 8 Grandchildren, Stephanie Wood, Stacye Jennings, Gunner Jennings, Brittany Evans, Ashlea Jennings, Heather Jennings, Jimmy Jennings, Jr., and Justan Jennings; 10 Great grandchildren; his brother, Dale Dean Jennings and his wife, Lorene of Holdenville, OK. Floyd is also survived by two nieces, one nephew, dear friends, Gayle and Novalene Reeves, of Midland, TX and numerous other family members and close friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 31, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Evangel Temple Assembly of God in San Angelo.
