Veva (Vicky) Pierce
Vicky Pierce, 83, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of December 26th, 2016. After her long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease, she went peacefully in her sleep, having spent her final days at home with her family whom she loved very much.
Vicky was born in Miles, Texas to Robert and Lorene Balkum on May 25, 1933, the youngest of seven children. She married the love of her life, Dewey Pierce, on September 15, 1950 in Miles, Texas, sharing sixty-six wonderful years of love and devotion. She went to Business College and received her Associate's Degree in Bookkeeping and went on to have a successful career. She led a very active life, including dedicating time to her church and being one of the top female bowlers in San Angelo for over 30 years, holding many titles and winning multiple tournaments. Her most prized and valued accomplishment was her family; everything she did, she did with unconditional love for them. Vicky lived an amazing, happy and full life.
Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers and two sisters. 
She is survived by her husband, Dewey Pierce; her daughters, Janis Baucom and husband Jim, and Sandra Love; her grandchildren, Joshua Baucom, Jade Baucom, Kasi Love, Pierce Love and Krystee Love; her great-grandchildren, Kadin Baucom and Matthew Baucom; several nieces and nephews and many friends. 
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28th 5:30-7:00 PM at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 29th at 10:00 AM at Immanuel Baptist Church, 90 E. 14th, San Angelo, with burial to follow at Miles Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. 
Pallbearers will be her five grandchildren and son-in-law.

Olga Fuentes Juarez, 92, of San Angelo, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at her residence. 

Rosary will be at 7pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel .

Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Joey Faylona officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Olga was born on August 26, 1924 to Francisco and Natividad (Dena) Fuentes in Winters, TX. She worked numerous years for R. G. Barry. Olga married Felix Trevino 1946 in San Angelo and
later in life, Olga married Manuel B. Juarez in 1976. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and cooking for her loving family. Olga was very devoted to her family and her church family. She was a survivor. 
She was a very devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Small Community Prayer Group . 

Olga is survived by her loving, daughter, Dora T. Lopez and husband Arthur; granddaughter, Debra T. Lopez; grandson, John Felix Lopez; great-grandson, Cameron Zacery Lopez; three great-granddaughters, Ariel Lynn Lopez, Jasmine Jazael Lopez all of San Angelo, Arrisa G. Lopez of Austin, TX; two great-great-granddaughters, Analey Jade Lopez and Sara Avery Lopez both of San Angelo, TX. 

She was preceded in death by parents, Francisco Fuentes and Natividad (Dena) Fuentes, husband, Manuel B. Juarez, son, Felix "PeeWee" Trevino, Jr. and grandson, Arthur Lopez.

Thank you Father,

For given me a mother that you have chosen for me.
Mother you have been my greatest inspiration. You were my gift from Our Father.
Your perseverance in caring your Cross the Lord is well pleased with your obedience.
Your daily devotional you had with our father showed me that you were caring your cross with great honor and respect to Our Father, you have out done yourself mother.
With that I will pick-up that Cross and carry it with great honor and respect in your honor. Thank you Mother.
Mother it is your time to rest, the next wake you will be with our Savior and Us.

Bring right with God is a gift from him.
Jesus, the Lamb, is God’s way to cover us.
Jesus longs for us to know Him and His rescuing love. This is why each of us must eventually answer the question, “Who do you say Jesus is?”

Wanda Westbrook, 79, of Carlsbad, went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in Carlsbad. Wanda was born August 8, 1937 in Poteet, Texas to Frances B. and Alma Brown King. She grew up in Brady, Texas. During her high school years, her family moved and settled in Carlsbad, Texas and she graduated from Water Valley High School. Wanda married Morgan Lee Westbrook, Sr. on October 14, 1953 in San Angelo, Texas and they shared 63 loving years together. Wanda’s passion in lifewas cooking and being of service to others. She worked for Abilene Independent School District and Water Valley Independent School District as a cook and retired from there after many years of loyal service to the students and faculty. She was a loving wife mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. Wanda adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She loved people, so she never met a stranger and had an incredibly kind, generous and outgoing spirit that endeared her to everyone. She was always happy and enjoyed visiting with family and friends whenever she could, especially if she had a pot of coffee ready for the visit. In her spare time, when she wasn’t cooking or visiting with family and friends, she loved reading westerns and playing the Texas Lottery. Her great love for her family and others and her incredible spirit will live on in our hearts forever. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Jerry Allen Westbrook. She is survived by her husband, Morgan Lee Westbrook, Sr., of Carlsbad; her children, Morgan Lee Westbrook, Jr. and his wife, Tammi, of Carlsbad, Mary Westbrook, of San Angelo, and Weldon Stacy Westbrook and wife Karen, of Carlsbad; 16 Grandchildren, Kristy, Cody and Kacey, Justin, Jason and Meagan, Jacci and Zack, Gregory, Matthew, Shawna and Adrian, Stacy, Archie and Tracy and Zachary; and 16 Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Monday, December 26, 2016 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Grape Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Winchester officiating. Interment will follow at Grape Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be Caleb Doucet, Braden Preston, Max Bradley, Stacy Westbrook, Greg Westbrook, Matt Westbrook and Zachary Westbrook.

Vera Freeman went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 19, 2016. She was born May 11, 1936 in Hughson, CA to Leonard and Arminda Brasher. She was one of seven children, and was a county girl who grew up loving the outdoors on a peach farm. Vera met Jack Freeman, the love of her life and they were married on July 10, 1954.
She earned her Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Education from Angelo State University and taught for 24 years at Austin Elementary School in San Angelo before retiring in 1991. She loved her students and one of her greatest joys was teaching them to read and write. Vera was a member of the Southgate Church of Christ, where she taught many bible classes for children and shared God’s love with them.
Vera is survived by her husband of 62 years Jack and her children: Mark Freeman and his wife Minnie of San Angelo; Debra Freeman Chunn and her husband Kurt of Hewitt; and Ronnie Freeman and his wife Tina of Waco. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jaclyn Freeman of San Angelo; Cody Freeman of Cypress; Tanner Freeman of San Antonio; and Braden Freeman of Waco. She also had one great-grandchild, Kaitlyn Freeman of San Angelo, who was the light of her life in later years. Additionally, she is survived by two sisters, Lois Reed of California, and Rosalie Carr of West Virginia, along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
During her retirement years she enjoyed traveling around the country and loving and spending time with her grandchildren.
Vera is now enjoying the goal of her faith- “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
A private burial will be held Wednesday, December 21 at Fairmount Cemetery.

Henry D. Wiens, Jr., 65, of San Angelo, TX passed away on December 16, 2016 in the presence of family and friends after a long and fearless struggle with melanoma. 
Henry was born on May 7, 1951 in Wichita, Kansas to parents Henry and Jean Wiens and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. 
A man of great faith, Henry had no greater love than his love for Christ. After graduating from Hesston College seminary in Kansas, Henry served as a Mennonite church planter in Colorado and had a life-long passion for service to others. 
A man of adventure and big dreams, Henry never stood still. He went from shrimp-boating in the early 70s to ambling across the country; traveling and exploring all that life and this great big world had to offer. He enjoyed sharing his travels and faith with others along the way. Henry’s favorite places were the beach or mountains; second only to anywhere on Earth as long as it was shared with family and friends. 
A man of good food and drink, Henry had a distinguished career as a chef and in food service management and consulting; specializing in patient service, kitchen production, catering and retail service for large hospital systems. Henry was best known in San Angelo as the executive chef and nutrition services director for San Angelo Community Medical Center. He appeared on local TV segments such as “Let’s Eat,” and most recently “Savor Food & Life.” A graduate of ProChef Program at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Henry enjoyed teaching cooking techniques and recipes, and sharing his passion with the many he mentored.
Henry never met a stranger.
Henry is survived by his wife Brenda Scarpa-Wiens; daughters: Anna Salinas and husband Jason, Angie Wiens Talbert and husband Scott; his son Justin; grandchildren: Kara, Nathan, Alyssa and Aiden; step-children: Britni Bradford and Bronson Boatright; step-grandchildren: Cailyn, Colton and Cora; sister Kathy Courtnage and husband Larry; sister Pamela Berger and husband John; sister Diane Kelly and husband Gerry; brother David and wife Patrice; brother Michael and wife Mary. He will be missed by many beloved nieces and nephews around the country. He is also remembered by his first wife, Patricia Finn. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Jean Wiens.
A public memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 3:00pm at the Chapel in The Vineyard, 5000 Cralle Rd in Christoval, TX. 
Donations can be made in Henry’s memory to MD Anderson Cancer Center to a designated fund in his name benefiting melanoma research at www.mdanderson.org/gifts so that others may continue their own adventures.
Henry’s memory can also be honored with good food and fellowship this holiday season.

Mr. Lane is survived by his wife Nancy Lane, three children Brian Lane, David Lane, and Erin Lane, two sisters Nancy White and Carol West.

Abel Garcia 51, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in San Angelo. Abel was born April 11, 1965 to Paul and Ruth Cervantez Garcia. He grew up in the Texas Panhandle and graduated from Hale Center High School. Abel married the love of his life Lupe Martinez on November 8, 1991 in Clovis New Mexico and they shared 24 beautiful years together. Abel and Lupe settled in San Angelo where he worked for the City of San Angelo as a crew chief for 18 years and retired from there. He also owned and operated Garcia Hauling and Excavation for 12 years. He enjoyed both jobs and was an extremely hard working man all his life. Most of all, Abel was a loving husband and father who devoted his life to his family. He was a great man of faith and loved the Lord with all his heart. His life and his legacy of love will remain in our hearts forever! Abel was preceded in death by his father, and his daughter Elisa Garcia. He is survived by his loving family, wife, Lupe Garcia, of San Angelo; his children, David Jonas “D.J.” Garcia, Paula Garcia, Jessica Garcia, Annabel Garcia, Rebecca Garcia and Adriana Garcia, all of San Angelo; his Mother Ruth Rupp and her husband James, of San Angelo; his Mother-in-law, Lupe Martinez, of Olton, TX; his Sister, Gloria Warman and her husband Ronnie, of San Angelo; and numerous Brother’s and Sister’s-in-law and other family members and close friends. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Church of Pentecost in San Angelo. The Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Church of Pentecost in San Angelo with Pastor John Howard and Pastor Valentine Martinez officiating.
