Brigitte Maria-Pia “Pia” Cullins passed away the evening of November 8, 2017, at the age of 65 following a 24 year couragous battle against cancer. Her last days were spent at home surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren and brother. 
Pia was born on December 13, 1951 in Radeberg, (East) Germany as the second child of Paul Eberhard Reuther and Kathchen Liane Brigitte Clausnitzer and continued as she completed a wonderful life that took her to West Germany and on to live and raise a family in the United States . 
Pia’s early years in Radeberg were spent with her mother, father, older brother Michael and grandparents. In 1957, when Pia was four years old, her family fled East Germany for a better life on the other side of the Berlin Wall. They spent approximately two years in Freiburg, West Germany, before moving to Dusseldorf where Pia attended public schools and where she was confirmed in the Protestant faith at the age of 14. Following public school graduation, Pia followed in her mother's footsteps by attending the Red Cross nursing school in Marburg where she completed her fundamental nurse training and then continued on to begin the higher level midwife nurse education. 
In 1971 she met Bill Cullins, her future husband and the love of her life, at a European Rodeo Association dance in Giessen, West Germany. Bill was stationed in the United States Army in Bad Megentheim, and they soon became inseparable, spending every possible moment together as they traveled to rodeos in Germany and visited historic castles and old cities throughout Germany and the surrounding region. They were married on December 9, 1972, in Werzburg, West Germany. Their first daughter, Tobi Ann, was born In Wurzburg in November 1973. In December 1973, her husband's military service ended and Pia came to the United States and initially lived in Stephenville, Texas, while her husband attended college.
Bill and Pia's second daughter, Cathy Jo, was born in Brownwood, Texas in January 1976 and their son Billy David was born in Alexandria, Virginia, in January 1979. The family moved to various military posts throughout the United States as Bill served a second period of active duty in the military. During this period, Pia was a stay-at-home mother, caring for their children and holding down the "home front" when her husband was away on temporary duty assignments.
In the late 70's and early 80's, Pia and her family lived in San Angelo where her husband was employed by Pool Company's operations support division. Bill accepted a faculty position at Aims College in Greeley, Colorado, in late 1982 and they moved Colorado where they spent almost 20 years raising their children and enjoying the beautiful Rocky Mountain outdoors as they camped, hiked, mountain biked, cross-country skied and windsurfed at locations in Colorado and the surrounding states.
During that time, Pia returned to college to complete a respiratory therapy program of study and became a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). After graduating, she worked in clinics, hospitals and home care. Caring for people was her passion and she was loved by her patients for her compassions and on patient care.
Bill and Pia returned to San Angelo, Texas, in 2000, when he accepted a position with Angelo State University to be closer to Bill’s aging parents. They continued their love of the outdoors and spent many hours enjoying her favorite areas such as San Angelo's Middle Concho Park and the surrounding open spaces. Pia served as a volunteer at Community Hospital and continued her focus on patients by training her Basset Hound Bubba to become a therapy dog. Pia also became the unofficial "race mom" for many local cyclists and runners as she helped her husband organize and direct races. Many people in San Angelo will fondly recall her "Georgia Cornbread" that she prepared for participant to enjoy after events.
Pia was a huge animal lover and her caregiving extended to abandoned or injured dogs and cats. Many rescue dogs and one cat found themselves in her loving arms, spoiled and cared for until their final days. Her latest rescues, Bubba the Bassett, and a cat named Boots will miss her greatly.
She is survived by her husband Bill, her children, Tobi, Cathy, and Billy, a brother Michael, four grandchildren Mackenzie, Stephanie, Tyler and John; a niece Tina, and a nephew, Frank, and a large group of extended family and friends. She had a long and wonderful life and is now enjoying her eternal heavenly award.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 10, at 2 p.m., at Harper Funeral Home, 2606 Southland Boulevard, in San Angelo.

Daniel James “Dan” West, 63, died of Cancer on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in San Angelo, Texas.
Dan is survived by Ellen West of Florence, OR; his son Nicholas West of Gainesville, FL, his step-daughter Heather Cours of San Angelo, his son-in-law Cody Cours, grandchildren Callie Cours and Alexis Cours; his family John West (Brother), Amber West, Alison (Inke), Puff, Collin, Dippy, Doug, Valerie, Pam, Lynn, Rupert and Ruffy West and many others that loved him.
Dan was born on August 16, 1954 in Ashtabula, OH to parents James and Marge West.
Dan was a great family man and a loving father. He married Ellen Hettrich and the couple had Nicholas West together. Dan always said it was the best day of his life when Nick was born.
Dan was a social, active man who was deeply involved in Carpentry and Construction for the majority of his life. He enjoyed fishing, animals, music, and apple pie. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving and caring person.

Fred "Freddy" Enriquez Dietz, Jr. age, 53, died on Monday, November 6, 2017, in San Angelo, Texas. He was born January 24, 1964, in San Angelo, Texas. After graduating from high school, Freddy served as a city jailor at the age of 18. A year later, he was hired as a police officer, where he served alongside his father, Fred. E. Dietz, Sr.

Freddy touched the lives of many students while he was a D.A.R.E. officer for many years in San Angelo and the surrounding areas. He loved his job and serving his community. He was named officer of the year and Patrol Supervisor of the year in 2016. Freddy was also devoted to his family. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father and grandfather. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and he loved the Lord.

Survivors include his son, Fred. E. Dietz, III. and his wife, Laure of Coahoma; daughter, Kyrstan Dietz of Denver, CO; parents, Fred and Odelia (Sosa) Dietz; sister, Sandra Lomas and her husband, Jake of Abilene; sister, Lorraine Campos and her husband, Steve; beloved grandsons, Ian and Brewer Dietz, who loved their "Pops"; his beloved girlfiend Brenda Morales; numerous nieces and nephews who loved their "Uncle Hockey"; and his Brothers and Sisters in Blue.

A rosary will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 7 pm. The funeral service will take place at The Junell Center, Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 11 am with the burial following at Belvedere Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Alex Nevarez, Paul Dyer, Matthew Vaughan, Matt Baldwin, Les Bird, Todd Dornhecker "Teddybear", Irma Rodriguez and Debbie Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Selger, Bobby Selger, Andrew Morin, Jerry Montelongo, Enrique "Ricky" Medellin, Herberto Medellin.

Though he was small in stature, he loved enormously! His compassion, kindness, generosity, laughter, and huge smile will always be remembered.

Jose Ovidio Reyes, 66, went to be with his lord and savior on October 28, 2017. He was loving husband and a devoted father. 

He is survived by his wife, Esther Reyes. His loving mother Josefina Pena Reyes. Five loving children; his daughters, Claudia Dimas and Alma Hernandez; his sons, Juan Ruiz, Damacio Ovidio Reyes, and Julian Reyes. Also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and many dear close friends.

A family viewing will be from 9am til 2pm with the family receiving friends and the public from 2-8pm on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home.

Doyle Rushing Sheffield of San Angelo, Texas passed away peacefully on October 31, 2017 at the age of 88. He was born to R.O. Sheffield and Pauline Miller Sheffield on March 12, 1929 in Brown County near Brookesmith. When Rushing was only an infant, the family moved to Tom Green County where he spent his life.
Rushing attended Central High School and Angelo Junior College. In 1952, Rushing married his loving wife, Gloria Mae Glenn, in San Angelo, Texas. Following his education, Rushing ranched in Upton County, Pecos County and Tom Green County where he raised registered sheep and Hereford cattle. Rushing received numerous awards and recognitions. In 1960, he received Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year. Rushing was Sales Manager for the Rambouillet Sheep Breeders Association. He also served several years as the superintendent of the Sheep Division of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo. Rushing also very much enjoyed the time he spent serving on the Concho Valley Boy Scout Council. 
In 1964, Rushing went into business for himself selling veterinarian animal health products and herbicides. He operated his own company until he retired in 1996. Rushing enjoyed flying and flew his own plane until retirement.
After retirement, Rushing spent most of his time on the golf course. He enjoyed playing golf with many of his friends at San Angelo Country Club and Alto Lakes Country Club in New Mexico.
Mr. Sheffield is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gloria Sheffield. His daughter Valerie Warneke, son-in-law Jamey Warneke, and his grandchildren, which he adored, Jenna and Ryan Warneke. He is also survived by his close companion, “Lexie Dog”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.O. and Pauline Sheffield, sister, Stevie Ray Sheffield, brother, Billy Carl Sheffield and son Doyle Lee Sheffield.
Rushing will always be remembered as having a heart as big as his personality.
A visitation will be held Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday November 3 at 11:00 AM at Harper Funeral Home.

Terry John Wollschlager passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017 in Midland, Texas at the age of 60. Terry was born on November 30, 1956 to Raymond and Margaret Wollschlager in Chicago Illinois.Terry remained a bachelor all his life, but was seen as another loving grandfather by his great nieces. He faithfully stayed close to his mother most of his life, caring for her compassionately.Terry had a very special companion in his life, his dog Lucky.Terry and Lucky were inseparable.Terry lived between his two homes in Midland, Texas and North Port, Florida.He was happy in Midland near his brother, Larry, and his sister-in-law, Kristina, with whom he spent much time having dinners and enjoying each other's company. Terry loved to fish and be near the ocean. He also loved any and everything Elvis! He traveled frequently to Balmorhea, Texas. He found tranquility there. Terry was a happy-go-lucky man. He had a laugh that was contagious and could not be duplicated. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Gerald George Lancaster, age 84, passed this life October 31, 2017. He was born in San Angelo Texas on August 8, 1933 and graduated from Christoval High School in 1951. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He was a retired Major with the Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission. He also served his country in the United States Army. He leaves to celebrate his life, wife Cathy, son, Jody, daughter, Julie, stepsons, Alan Dupre, Steven Dupre, Kelly Dupre. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 from 5-8 PM at Johnson's Funeral home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10 A.M. at Fairmount Cemetery in San Angelo, Texas. Minister Bill Proctor will officiate.
