William Jacob “Bill” Thompson, 76, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in San Angelo. Bill was born May 20, 1941 in Cumberland, MD to Robert and Maude Bennett Thompson. He grew up in Keyser W. VA. After graduating from High School, Bill served his country honorably for 8 years in the United States Air Force and was stationed in El Centro, CA and in Abilene, TX. He married the love of his life, Beverly Jones on July 6, 1962 and they shared 55 beautiful years of marriage together and raised two sons. Bill and Beverly moved from Baltimore MD and made their home in San Angelo in 1971. He pursued his college degree after moving to San Angelo and graduated from Angelo State University in 1974. Bill was a truck driver by profession and worked for East Texas Motor Freight, which became ABF and later Consolidated Freightways until his retirement in 2001. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, taking care of things around the house and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. His favorite thing to do with them was to watch them play their sports and go to their games. Bill was a longtime member of Southgate Church of Christ and a great man of faith. His life and legacy of love will live on in our hearts forever and we will dearly miss him! Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Thompson, of San Angelo; his sons, Kevin Thompson and his wife Ann, of Midland, TX, and Brad Thompson, of San Angelo; three Grandchildren, Bryce Thompson, Blaike Thompson and Maddax Thompson. He is also survived by two sisters, Carol Schofield, of Baltimore, MD and Joy Heavener and husband Richard, of Keyser, W. VA. As well as a sister-in- law Pam Jones, of Colleyville, TX, and brother-in-law Kirk Jones, of San Antonio, TX, both of whom he considered family. The Memorial Service will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Shero officiating. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to all the Staff at Park Plaza Nursing Center for all of the loving care given to Bill during his stay. Flora M. “Dimples” Hargraves, 81, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in San Angelo. Flora, affectionately known as “Dimples” was born November 15, 1935 to Jesse and Jessie Doherty Galbreath. She grew up in Central Texas. After high school, Flora married the love of her life Louis Allen Hargraves on November 7, 1953 in San Marcos, Texas and they shared 62 wonderful years together. Louis and Flora moved to San Angelo in the 1950’s and were charter members of LindellAvenue Baptist Church. Flora worked as an artist for Wallace Lab for almost 50 years before retiring. In her spare time, she loved listening to country western music and dancing. Her favorite country music though, was George Strait. She was a huge fan and could listen to him for hours without getting tired of it. Flora was a loving daughter, wife and mother who devoted her life to her family. Her life and tremendous love will live on in our hearts forever and we will dearly miss her! Flora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis, and three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Foerster and her husband Eric, of Tomball, TX; her Special Daughter, Kathy Robertson and her husband Gene, of San Angelo; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Lee “Gene” Warren went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday July 10, 2017. He was born on May 11, 1933 in Putman, TX. to Irvin and Callie Warren. Gene and his family moved to Kermit, Tx. in the early 1940s. He enlisted in the US Navy in June 1951 during the Korean War and was honorably discharged June 1955. While in the service in Hawaii he became pin pals with Iris White. He spent his leaves from service at home and Sweetwater with his new found love. They were married March 20, 1954 in Kermit,TX. They celebrated their 63rd anniversary March 20, 2017.
Gene and family moved to San Angelo in 1961 to be employed by Texas Parks and Wildlife, also living and working on the Fish Hatchery until retiring in 1989. His work was his passion and the life he loved. He had many life-long friends from his employment. He met and became friends with many ranchers in the area while stocking their tanks with fish. They were his rocks and he loved them immensely.
Gene was a member of the First Baptist Church and was 32nd degree Mason, a member of Paint Rock Lodger #613 and the Suez Shrine and the members were his love.
Gene loved his weekly domino games with his friends and we know they miss his out bursts of “why did you play that domino!!"
Gene is survived by his wife Iris, two daughters Denise and husband Gary of Bastrop, Tx. and Deann and husband Rob Zetzman of San Angelo. Grandchildren Dell Zetzman, Jessica and Leon During, Amy Zetsman, Alicia McCraw and Beth Zetzman, great grandchildren the light of his life, Haylee Zetzman, Valerie Zetzman and Eleanor Durning, He is survived by his sister, Laura Russell, and numerous nieces and nephews, along with his constant companion Patti.
A special thank you for Shannon Home Health nurse Stephanie Perez and Meghan Halfmann whom he learned to love so much on their visits. Also recognize Kindred Hospice for their tender care from all their specialists. 
A memorial service will be held in August and this obituary will be rerun at that time. Family request memorials to be made to Suez Shrine.

Alvetta Mae (Babe/Babysister) Kelly passed away peacefully to join her husband and loved ones in heaven on June 30, 2017. 
She was born on November 21, 1931 to Major Lee and Corean Ruthel Lott Spurlock in San Angelo, Texas. Alvetta was an only child, her mother and father preceded her in death. She was a lifetime member of Wesley Trinity United Methodist Church.
She graduated from Blackshear High School at the age of 16. After High School, Alvetta attended Huston–Tillotson University, a private historically black university in Austin, Texas, where she graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree. 
Alvetta married Benjamin F. Kelly on August 25, 1954, and to this union three children were born.

Alvetta had a beautiful smile and a warm heart, a generous loving sprit, always putting others first before her own needs. She absolutely loved teaching, football, track, cooking, and helping others. 
She had a passion for teaching and absolutely loved her students. Alvetta’s teaching career spanned over 30 years where she taught at Blackshear Elementary School, Belaire Elementary School, and Austin Elementary School. She retired at the age of 55 from Austin Elementary School in 1991. 
Her favorite pass-time was reading her bible and daily devotions, sports, cooking, helping others, and sending greeting cards to friends and relatives.
Over the years she had taken several ASU students/football players under her wings. Loving each of them as only a mom could. Attending their football games, providing home cooked meals, and sharing her love and support. One football player in particular, Michael H. Millegan, who she lovingly referred to as her self-adopted son, remained in constant contact and communication with her until her death. They shared a special bond unlike any other.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Sharon Evonne Kelly Rivers of Missouri City, TX, Patricia LaTrelle Kelly Thompson of San Angelo, TX, a son Michael Durand Kelly of San Angelo, TX, and her self-adopted son, Michael H. Millegan of Seattle WA. Grandson, Andre Lanier Thompson, great granddaughter, Alyssa Thompson both of San Angelo, TX, and a great grandson Kelien Thompson of San Angelo, TX. A brother-in-law James A. Kelly and spouse Dessie Kelly of Inglewood, CA, two sisters-in-law, Bettie Kelly of San Angelo, TX and Bobby Kelly of Clinton, MD, Ruby Lott, of North Carolina, and The Bradley Family, of Calfornia. Numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends, including her dear friends, Mary Jean Lewis, Mae Francis Owens and Ralph Powell of San Angelo, Texas, also survive Alvetta.
The family expresses deep appreciation to Shannon Hospital 4th and 6th floor nursing, CNA, and housekeeping staff, DaVita Dialysis Center and Staff, Park Plaza Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, the nurses, staff members, employees, friends who live at Park Plaza. She also leaves two special caring friends at Park Plaza; her dear roommate Pat Hawkins and Sylvia Rodriguez, her most dedicated caregiver.
Open visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Friday July 8, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday July 8, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo with Rev. Jeremy Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
September 12 2014, Michael H. Millegan donated funds for renovation of what is now known as the Ben & Alvetta Kelly Weight Room in the Junell Center/Stephens Arena. Michael H. Millegan also created the Ben & Alvetta Kelly Football Scholarship Endowment, which will annually award a scholarship to a member of the ASU Rams football team. Mrs. Florene A. Tidwell went to be with the Lord July 3, 2017. Florene Avanell Tidwell was born July 22, 1920 to Aubrey and Ora Lee (Porter) West in Nemo, Texas. In 1941, she married Roy Carl Morton and made a home for him and their two sons, Roy Anthony and Bobby David. Roy went to work for Pinkie's Liquor Store chain and his career kept the family on the move; to San Angelo, Midland, Lubbock, and Abilene, then finally back to San Angelo where they had kept a home. Roy passed away in 1982, at the age of 72. Flo eventually married D. Jack Tidwell, and they settled in Abilene, and then returned to Flo's home in San Angelo. Jack died in 2001. Flo devoted her life to her family. She was an ever-patient, loving mother to her boys, educated herself on many areas of interest, and enjoyed traveling. She had a sharp wit, could talk intelligently on any subject, and was never afraid to say what she thought. Flo is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Herbert and Charles and her husband's Roy Morton and Jack Tidwell. She is survived by her sister Leta Moses; her sons, Roy and Bobby and her grandchildren, Kimberly Morton Hawkins and Chase Anthony Morton. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. "A good wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels." (Proverbs 31: 10) Flo Tidwell was a wonderful wife and mother, and far more precious than jewels. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Johnson's Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 in Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
