She was born October 23, 1941 in Cuero, Texas. She had her hands full with 6 boys and 6 girls. She always put others first and always made you feel loved. She is preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Jose Guajardo; and sons, Francisco Guadalupe Guajardo and Jose Alfredo Guajardo. 

She is survived by her other children, Rosa Maria Ramirez, Jesus Guajardo, Alice Ibarra, Diana Ibarra, Rebecca Garcia, Esteban Guajardo, Juan Guajardo, Mary Ellen Mendez, Anita Vasquez, and Pedro Guajardo; 49 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

She was extremely loved and will be greatly missed.

Memorial Services for Master Sergeant Alfonzo "Big AL" Celaya, 80, of San Angelo, will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 21, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will be at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Al's life on earth ended on Monday, November 13, 2017 at his home with his beautiful wife, loving daughter, sons, and family. He was born February 6, 1937, in El Paso, Texas. He attended Beall and Jefferson High School in El Paso. He graduated from Angelo State University in San Angelo in 1984. Al received extensive training and professional education in the United States Air Force and as an employee with the state of Texas.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in May 1954 and served continuously until December 1975. He was stationed at Lackland AFB, TX twice; F.E. Warren AFB, WY; Hickam AFB twice, Wheeler AFB, Bellows Field, and Kunia Tunnel, HI; Offutt AFB, NE; Sheppard AFB, TX; Shaw AFB, SC; Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Vietnam; Wallace Air Station, Philippines; And Goodfellow AFB, TX where he retired from active duty. He also served on temporary duty at Wake Island twice, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, VA; Keesler AFB, MS; Fort Meade, ND, and Nellis AFB, NV. During his active duty he worked as a telephone installer, teletype/ cryptographic maintenance technician, supply warehouse supervisor, and as a teletype/ cryptographic maintenance instructor. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Force Outstanding Unit award with a "V" for valor and two clusters, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with three clusters, the Army Good Conduct Medal with three clusters, the National Defense Service Medal with bronze star, the Vietnam Service Medal with two campaign stars, the Air Force Longevity ribbon with four clusters, the Vietnam Gallantry award, and the Vietnam campaign ribbon. Al was extremely proud of his service in the Armed Forces of the United States of America, he endured many hardships, and gave up many personal needs to willingly serve his country. 
After his retirement from the Air Force, Al worked for the City of San Angelo, the American GI Forum, Ethicon, the U.S. Postal Service, Tom Green County Elections Administrator, the Texas Department of Human Services, and the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services. He enjoyed his work and the challenges of different jobs. He felt his knowledge, skills and abilities were used to the utmost and that both management and employees developed a confidence in his work in civil rights when he worked for the state of Texas. He was also a member for several years of the Lions Club, American GI Forum, LULAC, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Air Force Sergeants Association, and the Air Force Association. Al ran for County Clerk of Tom Green county in 1982 as a democrat and was named as Acting Tom Green County Democratic Party Chairman in 1998.
He married the love of his life; his beautiful Hawaiian, Portuguese and Irish wife, the former Patsy Cummings in Waimanalo, Hawaii on July 27, 1957. Together, they had five wonderful children. Big Al enjoyed his career, he loved food and eating at his favorite restaurants. He had a hobby of reading about war and history, his daily crossword puzzles, and messing around in the backyard building "stuff' He found happiness with his family, and was proud of all his grandkids and great- grandkids achievements. He also was honored to be accepted into his wife's Hawaiian family the Cummings of Hawaii.
Survivors include his wife Patsy Celaya, of 60 years; Son, Al Jr., grandkids Al Ill (Trey), Alika, Aliegh of Nederland, TX; Son, Lester (Tammy) Celaya, grandkids Daniel, Kevin and Angela of San Angelo, TX; Son, Tracy Celaya; Daughter, Tammy (Mike) Dennis, grandkids Candice Leilani, (apple of his eye- Adelyn) and Eddie Cardenas, Randy and Kacey Dennis of San Angelo, TX and Son, Arthur Lyman Jr. (Janet), grandkids Paul, Ronald, Reina, David, Daniel, Marisa, and Robby. He is also survived by numerus great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He is also survived by his sisters Bety Garcia of CA., Corina Celaya of CA., Paulina (Gilberto) Ramirez of El Paso, TX. Brothers, Manuel Celaya of AZ., Judge (Lupe) Celaya of El Paso, TX., and Wee (Socorro) of El Paso, TX Along with brother-in-law Robert Osuna and sister-in-law Inez Celaya of CA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Teresa and Pete Celaya, brother Pete Jr., and sisters Sookie Osuna, Estella Alvarez, and baby Maria Christina (Rachel).
Big Al's visitation is from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at Harper Funeral Home. Service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 at Harper funeral Home with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Janette Pearl Story, 71, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in San Angelo. Janette was born August 24, 1946 in Ballinger, Texas to Louis Baca, Jr. and Loreen Farmer Baca. She grew up in Miles, Texas and graduated from Miles High School. Janette married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Johnny Story on April 9, 1965. They shared 40 beautiful years together. Janette worked as a receptionist for Dr. Arledge, a local pediatrician, for many years and loved the children and families she served while working there. She and her husband Johnny also owned and operated a ceiling fan company called “Fan-Fair” for many years, as well. However, most of her adult career was spent climbing the ladder to the General Manager’s position at Southland Park of Angelo overseeing the day to day operations of the property. She dearly loved her Southland family and spent 35 years working there. Janette was a member of various organizations in San Angelo. She was the current President of the San Angelo Gun Club, and the chairman and event coordinator/founder of Daughters at The Range. Although she never had any children of her own, she had a passion for helping all children, especially helping to create strong independent young ladies by helping them learn self-defense. Janette was a loving daughter, sister and aunt with many beautiful qualities. She never met a stranger and loved people. She was always very social and outgoing, and always had something planned on her agenda. She loved to travel and do photography, and was an expert marksman and teacher of weapon classes. Janette was a very hard-working person and loved to have everything very organized. Most of all, she was a strong woman of faith with strong convictions. Her love of life, her vibrant personality, and her incredible giving nature and love for her family and friends will remain in our hearts forever! We will dearly miss her! Janette was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Johnny. She is survived by her Sister, Karen McKenzie and her husband Doug, of Farmer’s Branch, TX; her Brother, Charles Baca III and his wife, Elaine, of Miles, TX; her Sister-in-law: Kay Frannie Wright, of San Angelo; numerous Nieces and Nephews and many special friends. A celebration of Janette’s life will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Rosser officiating.

Bob Parr went to his heavenly home on November 8, 2017. He was born in Ballinger, Texas, on April 8, 1927, to Ed and Gladys Parr. He served in the US Navy during World War II. After returning, he and his father started Parr Marine Sales in San Angelo. They manufactured the first drive-on boat trailers and first automatic water ski reels. During the drought in the early 1960s, Bob started Trend Furniture. This third-generation legacy continues today at Trend Furniture with owners, Bob’s daughter Kristie and husband Russell and their son Bobbie. Bob left San Angelo in 1992 and moved to Orlando, Florida, with his wife Dorothy to open La-Z-Boy stores. He later retired and moved to Keller, Texas, where he was a member of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; daughter Kristie Reed and husband Russell; daughter Pam Wood and husband David; stepsons David Odom and Robert Odom and wife Rhonda; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Visitation with family and friends will be Monday, November 13, 6-8 p.m. at Harper Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, at Lawn Haven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russell Reed, Bobbie Reed, Robert Odom, David Odom, Bob Hicks, Reul Garner, and Troy George. A memorial celebration is pending in Keller, Texas.

Charles (Edmond, Chuck), (Bud) Schauer Jr., passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in a local hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Chuck was born on August 28, 1920 at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo, Texas to Charles E. Schauer Sr. and Annah Montgomery Schauer of Ozona, TX. Chuck was the third of five children. He married Marie M. LaBrie on August 4, 1955 in Denver, CO.
Chuck proudly served as a Combat Engineer, and was an expert marksman for 2 ½ years in the United States Army, serving in WWII and in the European Theatre, Germany. He also had two younger brothers serving in the U.S. Army as well. He built pontoon bridges over several rivers, including the Rhine River. Chuck worked for 40 years with the PSCO in Denver Colorado as an engineer on gas lines. He retired in 1992. Chuck had a great passion for music and was an extremely talented musician. He played Big Band Music for 40 years in his own “Chuck Schauer Orchestra”. Most of all, Chuck was a loving brother, husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family. His life and his legacy of love will remain in our hearts forever!
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Charley Ellen Ward and Laurene Taylor and two brothers, Blake and Nelson Schauer.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie, his six children: Mary Anne, Charles III, Brian, Doug, Ed, and Kristina, along with12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
The Memorial Service will be 3:00 P.M., Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Walter Hammonds officiating.

Joe Faye Pate Lieber was born on July 11, 1926 in Comanche County to the late Elvin D. and Mary Evelyn Pate and she passed away on November 7, 2017. She moved to San Angelo at a very young age and she graduated from San Angelo High School in 1943. She married Bill Lieber on December 2, 1943 in San Angelo. After living in Victoria, Texas and Mesa, Arizona during World War II while Bill was serving in the Army Air Corps, they moved back to San Angelo after the war ended. 

Joe Faye sold Highlights for Children for 17 years, traveling all over west Texas. In 1957, their only child, Candace Kay was born. In the early 1960’s, Joe Faye and Bill began a successful painting business and she was Bill’s bookkeeper for the company. 

Bill preceded her in death in 1991 after 47 years of marriage. Joe 
Faye loved to dance, travel and play “42”. She was a member of the First Christian Church of San Angelo. She moved to Lubbock to be near her daughter in 2004. 

She is survived by her daughter, Candace Cameron and her husband, Robert of Lubbock and grandson, Kyle Cameron and his wife, Ashley of Huntsville, Texas. Joe Faye is also survived by her sister, Drenna Rosenthal and her husband, Maury of Florida and sisters in law, Betty Lieber and Beverly Seward of San Angelo plus several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by nephew, Rusty Lieber.

Lawrence (Larry) M. Day, 84, of San Angelo, passed from this earth Thursday, November 2, 2017. He was a devoted military man, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and loyal friend. Larry was born July 30, 1933 in National City, California. He grew up in Pacific Beach, San Diego, California and attended St. Augustine Catholic Boys School where he played football and remained an active member of the School’s Alumni Association until his passing. During High School Larry met Trudy LaBerge and have been married 65 years. As a young man he was a Boy Scout who later went on to join the United States Marine Corps and had a fulfilling and decorated career. 
He enjoyed rugby, playing in Hawaii, California, Texas, Ireland and Australia with various clubs against local and international sides. Larry also played on the “Old Boys” side of the Alice Springs Dingos, (Australia) and locally was a pillar with the San Angelo Rugby Football Club/ASS. In his early years, Larry was passionate about bicycle riding and set a world record by riding from Mexico to Canada in 12 days. His other interests included being an all-around outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hiking, skiing and surfing among other things. 
For the past 13 years, Larry managed The Colonel’s Pipe and Cigar Shop in San Angelo, and was an indispensable asset to the team. There, he developed strong lifelong bonds with those he encountered on a daily basis and with those he worked for. 
Larry was loved by many and will be missed by all. Being a man with strong convictions, He would be the first to tell you, “Once a Marine, Always a Marine,” and that is how he will be remembered.
Larry was preceded in death by his second eldest son, Charles Anthony and his grandson, Aaron Michael. He is survived by his wife, Trudy and their six children: Larry, Douglas, Russell, Patricia Day-Pearson, and Matthew. Additionally, Larry has 10 grandchildren – Honey, Jesse, Nathan, Isaac, Caleb, Katie, Lauren, Grace, Ethan and five great-grandchildren. 
Larry will be interned at Holy Angels Catholic Church Columbarium. We would like to thank all our friends and family for their kind thoughts, prayers, and support as we honor Larry.

Brigitte Maria-Pia “Pia” Cullins passed away the evening of November 8, 2017, at the age of 65 following a 24 year couragous battle against cancer. Her last days were spent at home surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren and brother. 
Pia was born on December 13, 1951 in Radeberg, (East) Germany as the second child of Paul Eberhard Reuther and Kathchen Liane Brigitte Clausnitzer and continued as she completed a wonderful life that took her to West Germany and on to live and raise a family in the United States . 
Pia’s early years in Radeberg were spent with her mother, father, older brother Michael and grandparents. In 1957, when Pia was four years old, her family fled East Germany for a better life on the other side of the Berlin Wall. They spent approximately two years in Freiburg, West Germany, before moving to Dusseldorf where Pia attended public schools and where she was confirmed in the Protestant faith at the age of 14. Following public school graduation, Pia followed in her mother's footsteps by attending the Red Cross nursing school in Marburg where she completed her fundamental nurse training and then continued on to begin the higher level midwife nurse education. 
In 1971 she met Bill Cullins, her future husband and the love of her life, at a European Rodeo Association dance in Giessen, West Germany. Bill was stationed in the United States Army in Bad Megentheim, and they soon became inseparable, spending every possible moment together as they traveled to rodeos in Germany and visited historic castles and old cities throughout Germany and the surrounding region. They were married on December 9, 1972, in Werzburg, West Germany. Their first daughter, Tobi Ann, was born In Wurzburg in November 1973. In December 1973, her husband's military service ended and Pia came to the United States and initially lived in Stephenville, Texas, while her husband attended college.
Bill and Pia's second daughter, Cathy Jo, was born in Brownwood, Texas in January 1976 and their son Billy David was born in Alexandria, Virginia, in January 1979. The family moved to various military posts throughout the United States as Bill served a second period of active duty in the military. During this period, Pia was a stay-at-home mother, caring for their children and holding down the "home front" when her husband was away on temporary duty assignments.
In the late 70's and early 80's, Pia and her family lived in San Angelo where her husband was employed by Pool Company's operations support division. Bill accepted a faculty position at Aims College in Greeley, Colorado, in late 1982 and they moved Colorado where they spent almost 20 years raising their children and enjoying the beautiful Rocky Mountain outdoors as they camped, hiked, mountain biked, cross-country skied and windsurfed at locations in Colorado and the surrounding states.
During that time, Pia returned to college to complete a respiratory therapy program of study and became a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). After graduating, she worked in clinics, hospitals and home care. Caring for people was her passion and she was loved by her patients for her compassions and on patient care.
Bill and Pia returned to San Angelo, Texas, in 2000, when he accepted a position with Angelo State University to be closer to Bill’s aging parents. They continued their love of the outdoors and spent many hours enjoying her favorite areas such as San Angelo's Middle Concho Park and the surrounding open spaces. Pia served as a volunteer at Community Hospital and continued her focus on patients by training her Basset Hound Bubba to become a therapy dog. Pia also became the unofficial "race mom" for many local cyclists and runners as she helped her husband organize and direct races. Many people in San Angelo will fondly recall her "Georgia Cornbread" that she prepared for participant to enjoy after events.
Pia was a huge animal lover and her caregiving extended to abandoned or injured dogs and cats. Many rescue dogs and one cat found themselves in her loving arms, spoiled and cared for until their final days. Her latest rescues, Bubba the Bassett, and a cat named Boots will miss her greatly.
She is survived by her husband Bill, her children, Tobi, Cathy, and Billy, a brother Michael, four grandchildren Mackenzie, Stephanie, Tyler and John; a niece Tina, and a nephew, Frank, and a large group of extended family and friends. She had a long and wonderful life and is now enjoying her eternal heavenly award.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 10, at 2 p.m., at Harper Funeral Home, 2606 Southland Boulevard, in San Angelo.
