Darrell Gene Bozarth was born July 30, 1935 in Pampa, TX. He died peacefully at home in San Angelo, TX on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. He graduated high school in Pampa and attended West Texas University in Canyon. He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and in the National Guard for 6 years. He met his wife Peggy Prater at West Texas and they were married on Aug. 1, 1958. They have 2 sons: Ricky Don Bozarth of San Antonio and Timmy Lynn Bozarth of San Angelo. Thru Tim’s marriage he gained a daughter, Connie Bryan Bozarth and his only grandson Riley Thane Bozarth, the light of his life.
Darrell was an insurance claims adjustor for 36 years before retirement in 1995. His work took him to 47 of the continental United States. He worked fires, tornadoes, and earth quakes and had many interesting stories, he was always ready to share with anyone. Reading became a big hobby in his retirement and two hometown authors, Elmer Kelton and Russell Smith, were among his favorites. He also loved the Texas Rangers, the lawmen, not the baseball team, having met many of them during his working years. He would read any book he could get on their work.
Bo, as he was known to family and friends, also leaves behind one brother, Carroll D. Bozarth and wife Judy of Amarillo, TX and one sister Darlene Wren and husband Trueitt of Kingsland, TX and many nieces and nephews.
Bo loved his family dearly and they loved him. He will be missed but always alive in our hearts and memories.
Services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, October 21st at Harper Funeral Home.

Leland Dean Pope passed away October 10, 2017. He was born September 21, 1930 to Elmer and Florence (Millwee) Pope in Southard, Blaine Co., Oklahoma. He graduated from high school then attended Oklahoma A & M college where he received his Bachelor degree, commissioned 2nd Lt in the U.S. Army infantry in 1952 then received his Master’s Degree in 1956 from Oklahoma State University.
Leland married Helen Prickett on June 1, 1952, went on active duty in the Army and served as a Lt in Korea until 1954. They were married 65 years.
Leland was head of the Business Dept. of Gallup High school for 15 years. He then quit teaching after going into retail business. At one time they had five stores. 
He retired in 1990, moved to Florida until 2009 when they moved to San Angelo, Texas to be closer to family. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Florence Pope and his brother, Frankie. He is survived by his wife, Helen, two daughters, Christy Butler, Julie Mills, grandchildren, Brandy Hawkins (Bryan), Neal Butler and one great grandchild, Hailey Hawkins.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 16th at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.

Paul Douglas Dirrim Born June 10, 1946 in St. John’s Michigan died October 6, 2017 in San Angelo, Texas at the age of 71.
He was preceded in death by his parents Larry and Wilma Dirrim. 
He is survived by his sons Brennan and wife Barbara of Lake Jackson, TX. and Duane of The Colony, Texas and grandchildren Brandon, and Tabitha Ward and one great granddaughter Leona Ward.
He served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1962 to 1964. He retired from GTE in the 1990’s. He had many hobbies over the years including golf, wood working and going to sports events with friends of which he had many in Texas and Michigan. He loved socializing and drinking coffee with his many friends in San Angelo, and will be greatly missed by all. 
There will be an informal visitation and service Saturday October 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo.

Robert Alexander Edwards, father, son, brother and friend to many, left this world for a greater one on October 11, 2017. Alex was a man of many passions. He loved music, and if there was a guitar in the vicinity, you could bet Alex would be finger-picking and strumming it for those lucky enough to be sharing the room with him.
He loved Texas Tech University and Red Raider football. He grew up making the trip to Lubbock with his dad, Big Sam, to cheer on the Red Raiders, often for several games a season. This tradition continued as Alex spent his college days at Texas Tech and in the years following his graduation, and even when he was watching on TV, Alex was cheering on the Red Raiders as if he was on the sideline. 
But, most of all, Alex loved his friends and family. Known in Midland as “Birdman” and in San Angelo and points beyond as “Easy E” for his laid-back demeanor and welcoming presence, Alex made everyone he met feel like a life-long friend. He loved spending time and making music with his brother Samuel. He loved his Mom and Dad, and especially enjoyed joining them on camping trips. He loved his only son, Wyatt, and many of his favorite days were spent fishing with him down by the river.
Alex left before his time, but he lives on through the countless lives he impacted and in the endless well of memories he gifted to those who were fortunate to have known him. 
Alex is survived by his son Robert Wyatt Edwards and Wyatt’s mother, Meghan Edwards, his brother George Samuel Edwards, parents Georgia and Sam Edwards, grandparents Pud and Joe Edwards, special great uncle Robert Edwin Edwards and wife Susan, great Aunts Clare Easley and Doris Henderson. Other survivors include Aunts and Uncles: Cathy and Dick Irons, Lois Ann Crownover and Richard Ramirez, Dottie and Mark Collins, Lis and Trip Buchwald, Jennifer and Britt Edwards and Cousins: Britt Buchwald, Barrett Buchwald, Elisabeth McMullan, Haley Thomas, Luke Collins, Hannah Hines, Amanda Ramsdell, Aaron Ramsdell, Maddison Jo Edwards, Britt Edwards, Jr., Coye Irons, Grant Irons, Hailey Irons Newlin, Trent Bateman, Collin Klattenhoff and Carlee Goetz. He is also survived by his brothers from his other mother, Becky, Jordan Swiderski, Chris Swiderski and his soulmate Keith Swiderski. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Wilma Faye Crownover.

On October 5, 2017, Lyle Vern Sankey finished his drag race on Earth with an elapsed time of 69 years. 
Lyle was born June 28, 1948, in Independence, Iowa, to Cecil and Margaret Sankey. Lyle spent his early childhood in Iowa, and he and his family moved to Big Spring, then to San Angelo. He graduated from Central High School in 1966, attended Angelo State University, and joined the U.S. Navy, per Uncle Sam’s request. He worked all his life in San Angelo, for businesses including Western Auto Parts, Whites, Model Uniform, and GTE/Verizon.
Lyle enjoyed a good mental challenge. His pastimes included working on vehicles, fishing, and completing crossword puzzles and home projects. He could always be counted on to find a used item that someone else had discarded and make it work or look new again. He was known to take drives every weekend with his wife, Joy, and their dogs, Tator and Brady.
Lyle was passionate about vehicles and fast cars. He was a mechanic all his life, and he owned and raced several tri-five Chevys, along with myriads of other fixer-uppers. He raced a few times at Wall Dragway and other tracks.
He always said, “You’re only as good as the tools and parts you’re working with.” That belief didn’t just hold true for cars; it is an apt description for how Lyle lived his life. His sharp mind, quick wit, contagious laugh, and sound advice and knowledge were his biggest contributions to his family. He worked hard his entire adult life to provide for his wife and son, but he also lived much like he raced cars; too many RPMs aren’t good on an engine or a body. His family and friends will cherish the memories of his laughter until we meet again.
Lyle was preceded in death by his infant son, Brad Allen Sankey.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joy Sankey, of San Angelo; their son, Brian Sankey (wife Becca), and their children, Gavin, Savannah, and Kate, of San Angelo; parents, Cecil and Margaret Sankey, of San Angelo; brother Roger Sankey, of San Angelo; sister Lois (Sankey) Draper, of San Angelo; brother-in-law, R.Lee Brown of Aransas Pass; brother-in-law Robert Cope (wife Vickie), of Grape Creek; nephew, Buster Brown (wife Shinobu) of Austin; niece, Candice Maldonado (husband Renee) of San Angelo; nephew Jody Cope (wife Erin) of San Antonio; niece Robbie Nelms (husband Cody), of Carlsbad; and several cousins.

Wilburn Bobby Baucom died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday October 6, 2017 at the age of 87.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 62 years Kitty Ward Baucom and four sons Wilburn Baucom II and his wife Charlene and son Clayton of Alice, Texas; Brent Baucom and wife Dana and their children Dallas and wife Brittany and son James, Hanna, Katie and husband Taylor, Steel and daughter Sterling, Maggie, and Livie of Memphis, Texas; Wendell Baucom and wife Melanie and daughters Emily and Sara and her husband Austin of Big Lake, Texas; and Joe Baucom and his wife Hilary and sons Josh and Jared of Early, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. 
Bobby was born on 8-8-30 in Cross Cut, Texas to Bill and Daisy Baucom. He graduated from Williams High School in 1948 and Howard Payne College in 1957 with a BS degree and in 1958 with a MS degree. He married Kitty Ward on December 9, 1954. He retired after a 33 ½ year career as a tax accounting manager at GTE. 
He was an active member of the Downtown Lions Club for many years serving in many leadership capacities during his time with the club including secretary from 1994-2006, treasurer in 2007, Director from 2007- 2009 and even Lion Tamer in 2003. He also received several prestigious awards as a Lion including The President Silver Award in 1990, the Jack Welch Fellowship for Lion of the Year in 2007, and the Melvin Jones Fellow in 1990. He was a Texas Lions Camp for Children Lifetime Member. He was also an ordained deacon at The Heights Baptist Church and was named Father of the Year in 1995. 
He is remembered by his family as a father who made life look seemingly easy. He was an extremely hard worker whose primary passion was whatever activity his boys and their friends were involved in at the time. He followed his boys in all of their athletic and agricultural pursuits, a trait he passed on to his sons as well. 
A visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 8th. A funeral is scheduled for 10:00 am at Harper Funeral Home on Monday, October 9th with the Reverend Larry Daingerfield officiating, with burial at Marion Cemetery near their family land in McCulloch County. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bobby’s life.

John Norman Guess, 83 of Mertzon, Texas went to his Heavenly home, on Wednesday morning, October 4, 2017, after suffering complications from a fall. Norman lived a long and full life and was prepared and ready to meet His Lord and Savior. 
Norman was born, February 18, 1934, in Blossom, Texas to Edward and Rebecca Guess. He was raised in San Angelo, Texas, and after graduating from Lakeview High School attended San Angelo College. 
Norman married his high school sweetheart, and the love of his life, Evelyn Ruth Guess, on May 16th, 1952. The early days of their marriage were spent in Eastland, Texas, where their four daughters were born. Eastland was a special place for them, as it was where they began forming many close and life-long friendships. While in Eastand, Norman was part of a gospel quartet, The Gospelaires. His love for gospel music spanned his lifetime, and brought much joy to his life. 
Norman, Ruth, and girls moved to Big Lake, Texas, in 1962 where he began working at Glasscock Chevrolet with Bill and Elizabeth Glasscock. Norman continued his career as Dealer/Owner for 55 years. His daughters were all blessed to work with him, at different times throughout his life time. 
Norman was very involved and active in the community for many years. He served as a church deacon, (FBC Big Lake & Mertzon) and held numerous offices, in local government and civic organizations. He was an avid follower of the Reagan County Owls and was awarded, along with Ruth, as Life-Long Boosters of the Year. His Lord, family, church, and his business were the passions of his life. 
After losing Ruth, Norman found happiness, with Sue Baze, whom he married in 2013. They made their home in Mertzon, Texas, where he made many new friends. 
He was preceded in death, by his wife, Ruth; parents, Edward and Rebecca; sister, Nancy Bell; brother-in-law, Warren Aldridge; son-in-law, Wayne Poynor; and father & mother-in-law, Roland and Laura Swaringin.
Norman is survived by his wife, Sue; his four daughters; Susan George & husband Mike; Janet Davis & husband B.J.; Marla Poynor & husband Britt; Lori Jones & husband Terry; His sister, Marion Aldridge; brother-in-law, Jimmy Bell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn & Walt Templin and Howard & Sue Ann Swaringin; Grandchildren Jennifer & Edward Rivas, John George, Julie & Brad Wachsmann, Casey & Melanie Kohutek, Paul & Michelle Jones, Shawn & Anita Poynor, Allison & Joe Camacho, Ellen & Justin Clark, Clay & Joy Butler, Casey & Krystle Poynor, Megan & West Herbert; Numerous great grandchildren, cousins, nieces & nephews; Also survived by Sue’s children, Carla Baze, Brad Baze, David & Wendy Baze; & their children Tanner Baze & Juston Baze. 
Services will be Saturday, October 7th, at First Baptist Church (Big Lake), at 2pm & followed with graveside services, in Glenrest Cemetery (Big Lake); Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 at the church. 
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Smith, Ronnie Reeger, Wade Jones, Bill Schneemann, Tim Sellman, Dale Fisher, Johnny Poynor, Buck Owens, Richard Warriner, Sammy Dodd, Mark Noland, Eddie Martin, Denny Morris, Sid Sullenger, Wes Thiers, and Walter Flowers. 
The service will be officiated by Darrell Marion and several other pastor friends.

Dorothy Alice “Dottie” Arnold, 83, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 2, 2017 in San Angelo. Dorothy, affectionately known to her family and friends as Dottie, was born May 20, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska to Theodore and Mary Alice Vankat Spencer. She grew up in Omaha and graduated from High School there. She was an excellent student and did well at everything she set her mind to, pretty sure she was reprimanded on occasion due to her mischievous, excitement thriving soul.
She married Ronald E. Partusch and had 5 children that she devoted every waking moment to. She was a very caring and loving mother that made all 5 of her children feel like they were the most special child in the world. Dottie was a one in a million, she lived every day as if it were a gift and uplifted every person she came in contact with. She had the most incredibly infectious laugh. That along with her crazy sense of humor, made her a very memorable woman that you just wanted to be around. 
Dottie Married the love of her life, John W. Arnold, Jr. on July 4, 1994 in San Angelo Texas and they shared 23 wonderful years together. She was a loving homemaker who devoted her life to her family. Aside from being a homemaker she worked as a medical receptionist for San Angelo Radiology Associates and after 30 years of dedicated service she retired in 1996 and started living her dream of traveling with John and enjoyed the RV life for over 20 years. Dottie had a strong faith in the Lord and was a faithful member of Hope Bible Church. 
She enjoyed most of all spending time with her family and all of her grandchildren. Dottie loved playing games, any games, all games, especially card games and was pretty much unbeatable (except by her daughter Jill). Dottie had a keen sense of smell and could smell a slot machine from 200 miles away and off she went. Her love of life, her adorable giggle and her tremendous sense of humor will live on in our hearts and memories forever. We will all miss you like crazy mom!
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents and one son, the unforgettable Craig L. Partusch. She is survived by her husband and soul mate, John Arnold, of San Angelo; and children, her “model child”, Ronald E. Partusch, Jr., and his wife, Rhonda, her loving and devoted son Michael E. Partusch and his wife Gina, her daughter and “best friend” Jill A. Umstead and her husband Bill, and her “favorite” Jeff D. Partusch and his wife Rachel, Margaret L. Renton and Michael J. Arnold and his wife Mary; her daughter-in-law, Marcy Partusch; her Grandchildren, Tiffany, Rebecca, Dustin, Morgan, Curran, Ryan, Shannon, Kaitlin, Andrew, Anna, Brandon, Ashleigh, Will, Shayla, Lauren, Jared, Garison, Seth, Ashley, Michael, William and Jason; and 19 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving friends whom she considered family. 
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 6, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scooter McCurdy officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers for the service will be Andrew Partusch, Will Umstead, Dustin Plate, Seth Harris, Rick DiPaolo and Brandon Williamson.
The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to all the doctors and nursing staff at Shannon Medical Center for all the loving care given to Dottie during her illness.

Nolan Hayes Ruiz, infant, passed into the arms of Jesus at 8:33 A.M. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 in San Angelo. He was born on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 5:25 P.M. in San Angelo to Justin Roy and Cathleen Marie Bates Ruiz. Nolan was here spreading joy to the family for one month and twenty four days. In that time, Nolan, also known as "Little Peanut", showed great strength, trying to crawl at six weeks old and when fussy would even walk his legs up his Daddy's chest. Nolan reacted to Barney and the song "Death of a Strawberry" whenever he heard either. It has been said that he smiled most of the time and smelled wonderful. Nolan was a happy and loved baby that will live on forever in the hearts of those that he came in contact with, especially his family. He is now with his maternal grandmother, Regina Decker Bates; and great grandparents, John Alfred Decker, and Dick and Marcia Bates, who preceded him in death. 
Survivors include his parents, Justin and Catie Ruiz; grandparents, Mark Bates, and Rogelio and Cristina Ruiz; great grandparents, Linda Decker, Raymundo and Emma Ruiz, and Edmundo, Jr. and Margarita Castillon; aunts and uncles, Kelsey Raulin and Kade Poper, Joseph Johnson, Troy Anthony and Jesenia Ruiz, and Arianna Nicole Ruiz; cousin, Troy Anthony Ruiz, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends. 
There will be a private rosary held. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 in Holy Angels Catholic Church. Fa. Charles Greenwell will serve as celebrant.
