Swafford Patsy Ann

Patsy Garrett Swafford, age 76, of San Angelo, Texas entered into rest on Thursday August 1, 2019. Patsy was born February 20, 1943 in San Angelo, Texas to Harold T. and Mattie Ruth Garrett. Patsy grew up in Sonora, Texas where she graduated from high school. She then went on to study at Abilene Christian University and continued on to attend Jean's College of Beauty. She worked as a wig stylist for Hemphill Wells until she began her career at Ethicon Inc. Patsy worked diligently for over 30 years until her retirement in 2004. Patsy was a faithful member of Southgate Church of Christ as well as a proud charter member of The Sweet Adeline's. Patsy is survived by her husband Glenn "Bud" Swafford; daughter Nicole (Sean) Matthews; grandchildren Heather(Matt) Medeiros, Jon Cauthorn, Brode (Kelcey) Pickens, Gunar Matthews and Peyton Matthews all of San Angelo. She also leaves behind 5 great-granddaughters and 3 great-grandsons to cherish her memory. Patsy was preceded in death by; sons Carter Cauthorn and Garrett Swafford. A memorial service for Patsy will be held Monday, August 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Hospice of San Angelo. The Swafford Family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the Hospice staff that cared for Patsy. Price Dodd Halford

Dodd Halford Price, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday July 30, 2019 in San Angelo, Texas. He was a career military man who served in the U.S. Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer and after retiring from the Navy he worked as a Civil Servant for the military. He is preceded in death by his father Dodd Halford “Hal” Price and mother Leatha Lynn Cole Price, his wife of 39 years Shirley K. Martin Price. Dodd is survived by his wife Doris Brewer Price, brother Brian Cole Price (Fran), daughters Cathy Price Tullos (Mike), Susan Price Moeller, Mary Price de Frank (Vince). Step daughters, Cayla Adams Madrid and Cindy Adams Revell. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren to cherish his memory. A Memorial Service will be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.

Jesse Alvarado Guzman, of San Angelo, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2019. He was born on November 23, 1964 in San Antonio, Texas to Joe and Anita Guzman. He married the love of his life, Sylvia Guzman on March 28, 1986. Jesse worked as a backhoe operator for the City of San Angelo for a number of years. He was the best daddy and PoPo to his children and grandchildren. Jesse enjoyed baseball, fishing, music, watching western movies, and most of all, the Dallas Cowboys. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; daughter Jessica Vasquez and husband David; son Jesse John Morales and wife Anna; his parents, Joe and Anita Guzman; his grandchildren, Alexxis, Victoria, Christian, Xavier, Anissa and David Jr.; his brother, Joey Guzman; sister, Bea Gonzalez and husband Ignacio; sister, Estella Guzman; the Rodriguez family who loved him very much, and his four legged babies. Open visitation will be held Sunday, August 4th at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with a prayer service to begin at 4pm. Funeral services will be at 2pm, Monday, August 5th, 2019 at the House of Jireh (1414 N. Chadbourne). Pallbearers will be Mario Rodriguez, Tommy L. Rodriguez, Richard V. Rodriguez, Joey A. Guzman, Adam Garcia III and Michael Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Rodriguez, Santos Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez Sr., Tommy F. Rodriguez, Ruben Almanza and Ignacio Gonzalez. The family would like to thank Dr. Norma Cerna. She is an extraordinary doctor - they want to tell you that you are an extraordinary human being and thank you for fighting this battle with them. Wieting Robert Bob

Robert “Bob” Wieting passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019. He was born February 24, 1943 to N.F. Wieting and Eunice Schmidt on a 100-acre stock farm in Alvin, TX. He graduated in 1961 from Alvin High School and went on to college at Alvin Jr. College. He then went to Sam Houston State in Huntsville, TX and graduated in 1966 with a BBA, then went back to achieve his Master’s in Business Administration. Bob also played defensive tackle and received 2nd in all district team his Junior year. He excelled in football, basketball, and track throughout high school. Upon graduating with his Master’s, Bob went to work in San Angelo for Central National Bank and worked his way up to Executive VP. After a 20 year career with CNB, he decided to change careers to a financial advisor with Edward Jones. He worked there for 24 years.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard Wieting. He is survivied by his son, Clay Wieting; grandchildren Savannah Wieting and Jacob Wieting; sister Margaret Cain and her husband James; nephews, Roy King, Kyle King, Corey Wieting, and Jim Cain; and niece Renee Wieting.

A viewing will be held on Monday, August 5th and Tuesday, August 6th from 8am to 7pm at Harper Funeral Home. At the request of Bob there will be no services held.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, Illinois 60611 or a charity of your choice.

Burklund Lorraine Cora

Lorraine Cora Burklund, age 90, went to be with her Lord on July 30, 2019.

Lorraine was born in Hector, Minnesota on June 23, 1929 to Amil and Manda Aasland. Her growing up years were spent on her family’s farms in Minnesota and in Wisconsin with siblings, Amil, DeLoris, and Lars. As a teen, she became an accomplished seamstress, a skill she would later turn into a business. She gave many hours to sewing for others and enjoyed teaching this skill throughout her life. In 1952, she married Lloyd Collison with whom she raised three children, Larry, Lee, and Lisa Collison. The family moved to Abilene, TX in 1966 and 8 years later to San Angelo. After 28 years of marriage, Lorraine became a widow and supported her kids with her sewing and in sales. Lorraine married San Angeloan, Milford Burklund in 1990 and at the time of his death, they had enjoyed 25 years of marriage. She served her church, Calvary Lutheran as long as she was able and attended Bible Studies and Women Aglow for many years.

Preceding her in death were her parents Amil and Manda Aasland, and a brother Lars Aasland, her husband Lloyd Collison, and her husband Milford Burklund.

Lorraine is survived by her son Larry Edward Collison and wife Sharon of Friendswood, TX, her son Lee Allen Collison of San Angelo, TX, and her daughter, Lisa Lorraine Collison of Monroeville, AL; grandchildren Kevin Collison of Orange Park FL, Leighann Martinets and husband Ryan of Pasadena, TX; great grandchildren, Karis, Jacob, and Abigail Collison, Jay and Ceska Martinets; brother Amil Aasland of Crosslake MN and his two daughters; sister DeLoris Johnson of Bryan TX and her two daughters.

A visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home on Friday August 2 from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will held Saturday August 3 at 1:00 pm at Calvary Lutheran Church, 3231College Hills Dr, San Angelo. Pastor Paul Zwarich and Pastor Kevin Collison will officiate. Burial will be at Fairmont Cemetery on Monday August 5 at 10:00 am.

Hudson, Jr. William Elmo

William “Elmo” Hudson Jr. passed away July 30, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Elmo was born in San Angelo, Texas on May 5, 1936 to Bill and Louraine Hudson. Elmo married the love of his life Wanda Cummings on November 29, 1954 and they had two daughters Carol Ann and Vicki Lynn. Elmo loved cars and began working at different body shops in San Angelo becoming foreman at both Mustang Chevy and Concho Buick. Elmo opened his own business Hudson Body Shop in June of 1980. He ran the business until he retired in 1996. Elmo loved life and his family was always at the center of his life. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time at his ranch in Orient.

Elmo is preceded in death by his daughter Vicki Lynn Woehl, and his parents.

Elmo is survived by his wife of 64 years Wanda Hudson; Daughter Carol Ann Kelley and husband Mark of San Angelo; Grandchildren Corey Alvey of San Angelo, Mica Carrillo and husband Lionel of San Antonio, Gary Chavez and wife Elvia of San Antonio; Great Grandchildren Kaley Alvey, Raven Wilson, Tiara and Arian Carrillo, Madison Chavez, and Matthew Gennero; Close to his heart is Gabby Blake, Dawn Hooper, and Vicki Latham.

The family would like to thank St. Gabriel’s Hospice for all of their care.

A visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, August 2, 2019. A graveside service will be held at Fairmount Cemetery 10:00 AM Saturday, August 3.

Billie “Grannie” Nichols, 96, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019, in San Angelo.

By request of Billie there will be no services scheduled. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nichols was born August 20, 1922 in Roanoke. She was raised in Argyle living in Denton and Brownfield moving to San Angelo in 1963. Billie was a production supervisor for DeCoty Coffee Company 30 years retiring in 2000. She was a Baptist and loved to dance. Billie was fondly referred by family and friends as "Grannie". Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Judge and Dovie Dudley; a brother; six sisters; a daughter, Norma Walter; a grandson; Tony Price; and a great grandson, Gabriel Alexander Comedy.

Survivors include her son, James Easley and wife Carol of Carrollton; two daughters, Jeane Orsak and husband Tom of Harriett and Nancy Marcum and Greg Duran both of San Angelo; six grandchildren, Babette Easley, Seneca Orsak and wife Gina, Summer Gill and husband Will, Nicky Comedy, Erin Hanby and husband Matt and Jason Marcum; three great grandchildren.

The family wish to express their special thanks to Dr. Chinn and his staff and to the staff at Meadow Creek Nursing Home.

Velma Ruth Jones Sager, 91,”Graduated into Heaven” Wednesday, July 24, 2019, in San Angelo.

Public visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with the family will receiving friends from 1:30 to 5:00 PM Sunday, July 28, 2019, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Velma's graduation service will be 1:00 PM Monday, July 29, 2019 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, with Nephew Eddie Jones, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sager was born December 14, 1927 on the Jones Ranch 30 miles south of San Angelo. She attended Christoval and Mertzon public schools before graduating from San Angelo High School in 1945. Velma spent the next year at San Angelo Junior College and then earned her degree at Hardin Simmons College in Abilene, while there she met a ministerial student, Jesse Sager, and they were married April 14, 1949, shortly before his graduation.

Velma served alongside her husband as he pastored churches around Abilene, Brownwood, Strawn and Springfield, Missouri. During this time Velma worked in Christian schools and gave private piano lessons. They moved to San Angelo to care for her parents, Edna Florine and Edward D. Jones, and they joined New Testament Baptist Church. Velma became a member of Harvest Baptist Church several years ago. She played piano and organ at the church for many, many years until her arthritic fingers would no longer allow her to play.

Although not as active in recent years, Velma was still faithful when able, taking the same seat and flashing her bright smile to all who came her way. She constantly encouraged everyone, and she will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to her parents and husband Velma was preceded in death by four brothers, Jessie V. who was killed in WWII, Edward Raymond , twins Herbert V. who died at 2 months of age and Hubert D.

Survivors include five nephews, Dwayne Jones, Eddie Jones, Wade Jones, Bubba Jones and Vernon Jones; a niece, Darlyne Bothwell; many other family and friends.
