Hausenfluck Etta Merle

Etta Merle Hausenfluck of Christoval, Texas, passed away peacefully at the age of 103 on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at Southgate Church of Christ in San Angelo, Texas on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be on Monday at Ivy Cemetery in Christoval, Texas.
Etta was born July 21, 1916, to Wallace and Afton Montgomery in Georgetown, Texas. Etta married J.F. Hausenfluck in Georgetown, Texas, on September 23, 1939. They had 64 wonderful years together ranching and treasuring time with their family. Etta was a faithful member of Southgate Church of Christ and enjoyed serving the Lord and reading scripture daily.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, and 2 sisters. Survivors include her son Billy Hausenfluck and wife Janell, her daughter JoAnne Poynor; her grandchildren Troy Headrick and wife Azza, Patti Harris, Cynthia Kirkpatrick and husband Lance, Bobby Headrick and wife Lorrie, Jeffrey Hausenfluck and wife Betty; great-grandchildren Jennifer Tawwater and spouse, Kaleb Headrick and spouse, Nick Headrick and spouse, Stefanie Rubio and spouse, Jacob Harris, Hunter McBride, Travis Miller, William Hausenfluck, Blake Kirkpatrick, Hunter Miller; 11 great-great grandchildren; nieces, great nieces and nephews; and brother/sisters in Christ that complete her family.

LenaBrowningJ (Nell)Lena J (Nell) Browning, 95, of San Angelo, TX passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. She was born in O'Brien, TX on September 16, 1924. She was a high school graduate. She married Clabern Major Browning in 1942 in Chicago, IL. Lena worked as a cashier for M-System Food & retired from Goodfellow Air Force base, where she worked as a cashier in the commissary. She was a member of VFW post 1815 & a member of the NARF association. In her younger years she was a member of Harris Avenue Baptist Church & later became a member of The Business Men's Bible Class.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Major Browning & her brother Neil Strickland.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Fontenot & husband Carl, granddaughter Sandra Michulka & husband Dennis, great-granddaughter Stachia Brothers & husband Billy, great-grandson Timothy Manis, great-great-granddaughter Joslyn Garcia & great-great-grandson Ajay Manis. She was dearly loved & will be missed by all.

The family would like to thank the doctors & staff of Shannon Medical Center, as well as the Visiting Angels for the wonderful care they provided.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Johnson's Funeral Home. Visitation will occur from 6 - 8 PM on Friday, November 15. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, November 16.

Betty Darlene Butts, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 12, 2019.
She was born on October 22, 1939, in San Angelo to Wade Ozelle and Zula Mae Armour Ford. On June 19, 1957, Betty married the love of her life, Don Butts, in San Angelo where they have resided for 62 years. They have three sons.
Betty occasionally worked outside the home, but her joy resided in raising her family.
Betty was a member of Lifepoint Baptist Church. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Wade O. and Zula Ford; two brothers, C.J. Ford and Wade L. Ford, an infant sister, Daphne, and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband, Don Butts, of San Angelo; three sons, Ted Butts and wife Renee of Mertzon, Texas, Todd Butts and wife Paula of Bedford, Texas and Troy Butts and wife Deborah of Plano, Texas, seven grandchildren, Trevor Butts and wife Jennifer of Robert Lee, Texas, Courtney Piaz and husband Justin of Lubbock, Texas, Chelsea Kennedy and husband Cameron of Bedford, Texas, Jaycee Butts of Stephenville, Texas, Austin Butts and wife Cristina of Frisco, Texas, Avery Butts of Plano, Texas and Aaron Butts of Plano, Texas, three great grandchildren, Jaelyn and Blake Piaz of Lubbock, Texas and Nathanael Butts of Robert Lee, Texas.
Other survivors include: a sister, Charlene Cauley, and husband Leo; sisters-in-law include: Joyce Ford and Betty Sue Ford. Betty is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, November 15, 2019, at Harper Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Lifepoint Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Clatworthy and Bill Butts officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Harper Funeral Home. Special thanks to Kindred Hospice of San Angelo and our caregivers, Margaret Zammoron, Ruby Galvan and Inez Penilla during this difficult time.

Eugene E. Navarro Pena “Mookies”, 26, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in his home in Abilene, surrounded by his family and friends.

Public viewing will be from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, November 10, 2019, and from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM Monday, November 11, 2019, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Monday, November 11, 2019, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be at Belvedere Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Eugene was born September 6, 1993 in San Angelo. He was a resident of Abilene, since 2005, moving from San Angelo. Mookies was a 2014 graduate of Abilene High School. He enjoyed playing jokes, listening to his music, dancing, and especially loved visiting his family and friends. Eugene is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gil and Tomasa Pena.

Eugene is survived by his parents, Gilbert and Betty Pena; four brothers, Gilbert Jr Pena and wife Melissa from Midland, Adrian Sarzosa, Adam Sarzosa, and Jose Luis Mata all from San Angelo; three sisters, Edwina and husband Ellis Beck from Kennedale, Mariah and husband Stewart Ward from Abilene, and Liza Pena from Arlington; maternal grandmother, Sylvia Rodriguez; great grandmother Lillie Rodriguez; a very close cousin, Ruben Navarro and his babe Dolores Navarro; and a very special aunt, Dolores Navarro Veliz. Mookies is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to say a special thank you to his caregiver, Shelly Garcia-Hernandez, who meant so much to him. Mookies will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family. Gone but will never be forgotten.

Joan Robin Vick

Joan R. Vick, 84, passed away from her earthly home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, November 8, 2019. She was born in Dallas, Texas on October 18, 1935 to Lloyd Dexter Vick and Kathryn Powell Vick. Most of her life was spent in Dallas, Texas where she had several secretarial positions. She was highly skilled in her work and she thrived on "keeping everyone organized." Joan was a mama to two poodles for many years. She had Angel and then BB. They were the joy of her life. After the second poodle passed, she took in cats -- mostly strays.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Kathryn Vick, and her beloved brother-in-law, Ronnie Mittel, who was married to her sister, Sharon, for 57 years. She is survived by her two sisters: Judy Vick McManus and her husband, Bill, of San Angelo, and her sister Sharon Vick Mittel of Eldorado. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and several friends.

Joan's sisters moved her to San Angelo in April, 2009, so they could oversee her care. She had spent the last eight years at Sagecrest Alzheimer's Care Center where her daily needs had been met by a loving staff of compassionate, skilled caregivers. Her family will be forever grateful for the care Joan received.

Joan's life will be celebrated at a graveside service on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 2 pm at Christoval Cemetery.

Martin James Daniel

James Daniel (JD) Martin was born January 3, 1932, in Menard County, Texas, to Elsie Hight and CO Martin. He spent his early years in the Menard and London area and attended school in Menard. He then settled in San Angelo where he married the love of his life Gertrude Yeager on May 5, 1956.

As a young man, JD worked bailing hay, building cement tanks, and other miscellaneous jobs until he joined the US Army to serve in the Korean War where he was awarded a Bronze Star. After returning from the war, he went to work in the restaurant supply business. He worked several years at B&H Restaurant Supply and then at Angelo Refrigeration & Supply, where he managed the soft goods department until his retirement.

He was a 60+ year member of the Masonic Lodge, where he had served as a Master Mason. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Some of his grandest memories are the times he spent hunting, fishing, and riding four wheelers with his family and friends. The place he most loved and enjoyed spending time was at Turtle Ranch.

He is survived by his children Doug and Rhonda Martin and Brian and Jolonna Martin of Levelland, TX, and Kathy and Milton Sargent of San Angelo, TX, grandchildren Bradley and Erin Sargent, Preston and Jeannie Martin, Bobby and Whitney Martin, Daniel Martin, Travis Sargent and Brittney Chastain, Callie and Jerry Tennell, Brent and Marissa Martin, Clayton and Mattie Sargent, Paige Martin, and Brock Martin. His 16 Great Grandchildren called him Superpop and were his biggest joy. He is also survived by Sister Wanda and Fred Wilson and brother Bender and Marilyn Martin, both of San Angelo; sisters-in-law Betty Fulgham and Martha Brassie, and brother-in-law Toby Yeager, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special friend Bobbie Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 43 years; sister Louise Wall and husband, JB Wall; and Brother Ray Martin and wife, Brenda Martin; and grandson, Denver Priess.
Visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 13th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at 10 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with Bobby Roger officiating. Burial will be held at 2:30 PM at Little Saline Cemetery in London, TX. Pallbearers will be grandchildren.

Special thanks to Dr. Charles Marsh for saving Dad’s life early on and for his many years of care and treatment; Dr. Marsh’s nurse, Donna for her role in Dad’s care; to the VA and VA Nurse MaryAnn for the amenities and help supplied the last couple years to make Dad’s life easier; to Angela Wray with Visiting Angels; and to the residents and staff of Lyndale for welcoming our Dad and becoming his newest friends and extended family.
