WATCH: Furniture Truck Crashes into Pickup, Fire Hydrant & Tree

 

SAN ANGELO, TX  – The driver and passenger of a commercial furniture truck were injured Friday morning in a crash at the intersection of FM-1223 and Janie Ln. east of San Angelo.  

According to San Angelo Police Department Traffic Division investigating officer Welch, a white Chevrolet pickup was southbound on FM-1223 attempting to turn left onto Janie Ln. 

The furniture truck was also southbound and crashed into the pickup from behind at a high rate of speed.  The furniture truck then struck a fire hydrant and a tree.

The driver of the furniture truck was pinned in the vehicle when emergency personnel arrived.

Officer Welch says debris from the crash hit a Dodge Caliber which was northbound on FM-1223 but caused little damage. 

The drive and passenger from the furniture truck were taken by ambulance to Shannon Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.  Officer Welch says the driver of the furniture truck will be issued a citation for failure to control speed.
