McNeill Ae Hui

Ae Hui McNeill, 87, of San Angelo, TX, passed away March 12, 2020. She was born in Seoul, Korea on March 26, 1932. Ae Hui married Owen J. McNeill, Jr. on May 18, 1967 in South Korea and immigrated to San Angelo, TX in September of 1967 and became a U.S. Citizen. She retired from Levi Strauss as a seamstress and had a passion for lotto scratch offs and dancing. Ae Hui was a great wife, mother and grandmother, she loved the color yellow and flowers. She is survived by her husband Owen J. McNeill, Jr.; son, Robert McNeill and wife Carolyn of Midland, TX; daughter, Bonnie Ortiz and husband Tereso of San Angelo, TX; grandchildren, Erica Rowe and husband Michael of New Hampshire, Jesse McNeill, Raven Ortiz of San Angelo, Bristol Nalley, Bradie Leuschner and Brookie Martin of Midland, TX; and great grandchildren, Aurora, Richard, Julian, Ean and Max. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2020 in Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may sign an online guestbook at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com

Rodriguez Margarito

Margarito Rodriguez 82 passed away on March 11, 2020 surrounded by his family.
Margarito Rodriguez was born on July 20, 1937 to Asencion and Marcelline Rodriguez in Seguin, Texas. Margarito grew up and began working in construction until he started to lose his eyesight. He did not give up and began working at Lighthouse for the Blind for another 28 years. Margarito loved his family, He married Mary Rodriguez and together they had 8 children. He loved his Cowboys and Rangers and never missed watching them play.
Mr. Rodriguez is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers, and a son Margarito Rodriguez Jr.
Margarito is survived by his Wife Mary Rodriguez; Children Victor Diaz and wife Rosalinda, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Raphael Rodriguez, John Rodriguez, Mary Lou Flores; Brother Frank Rodriguez, Sister Theodora Sturgis; along with many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
A rosary service will be held at Harper Funeral Home on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 16 at St. Joseph’s in Loraine, TX at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in Loraine Cemetery.

Castillo Reimundo

Raymond “Popo” Castillo of San Angelo, passed away March 11, 2020 surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. Raymond was born in Paint Rock Texas on March 15, 1934 to Mucio and Natividad Castillo. He married Pauline Deanda December 25, 1954. He was drafted into the Army and spent 2 years active duty. After the Army they settled in San Angelo where he worked at Ethicon Inc. for 27 years and retired in 1995. Upon his retirement, Popo enjoyed serving our Lord at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church. Popo also never met a stranger; in fact, it was said of him that he knew half the people in San Angelo, and the other half knew him. Most of all, Popo loved being surrounded by family and friends in his home as they gathered around his table for food, lots of story sharing and laughs. Surely, Popo will be missed but not forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mucio Castillo, Natividad Alonzo Castillo, grandson Michael Castillo Jr., six brothers and four sisters.

He was survived by his wife of 65 years, Pauline Castillo, his children, Michael Castillo wife-Natalie, Richard Castillo wife-Anna, Gloria Curtis husband-Chris. Grandchildren, Anthony Hernandez, Kristi Castillo, Aaron Padilla wife-Donna, Stephanie Gonzalez husband-Andrew, Jaden Hendrix, Ritchie Castillo, Nathan Terrazas, Natasha Curtis, Julia Curtis and Avery Curtis. Great grandchildren Athena Trevino, Astrid Gonzalez, Kamri Lord, Jacob Padilla and Ryan Padilla. Two Brothers, Alberto Castillo and Jessie “Chuy” Castillo.

Pallbearers are Stanley Werner, Monte Biedermann, Anthony Hernandez, Aaron Padilla, Jaden Hendrix, Joe Lopez.

Visitation will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday March 15, 2020 at Johnson’s Funeral Home with the Rosary beginning at 5:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday March 16, 2020, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church with burial immediately following at Calvary Cemetery.

Daniel Ernest Wilcox, 61, of San Angelo, passed away March 10, 2020. He was born in Watertown, SD on April 20, 1958. Dan graduated from The University of South Dakota where he received a Bachelor of Science in Recreation. Dan was a counselor at the Lion’s Summer Camp in Kerrville, Texas after college. Later he drove for several trucking companies nationwide, the most recent being Prime, Inc. He received numerous safety awards during his driving career. After his trucking career he moved to San Angelo, TX and worked for Mrs. Rios until his health would no longer allow him. During his trucking days, he loved to stop and visit family and friends when his route would allow. He was a member of the Amateur Radio Community with a call sign KC5QGQ and had a passion for photography, music, fishing and golf. Dan is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Wilcox; his infant son, Scott; step-father, Harold Ferguson; grandparents, Ruth and Frank Wilcox and grandparents, Floyd and Delma Gapp. He is survived by his mother, Carol Ferguson; brothers and sisters, Dave Wilcox, Wanda Snoozy and husband Scott, Rose Schnackenberg and husband Jeff, Cynthia Perdue and husband Jimmie, Linda Carter and husband Phil and Sandra Ferguson; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2020 in Monahans Memorial Cemetery in Monahans, TX. Brenda Pilkington, 68, of San Angelo passed away on March 7, 2020. Brenda was born on March 23, 1951, in San Angelo, to Lewis and Helen Rowley VanZant. She worked in medical coding up until her retirement. Brenda enjoyed dancing, socializing, and most of all spending time with family and friends. She also loved to go fishing out her brother's ranch. Brenda was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She is preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Janice Early and her husband, Zack; Delinda Gizzi and her husband, Pete; her sister, Jo Feist; her brother, Jr. VanZant and his wife Sandra. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Whiskey River Saloon located at 125 East Concho Avenue. Mortimore Myrtle Mae

Myrtle Mae Gray Mortimore was born August 14, 1934 to Jesse Ollie and Frances Lucille (Lenoir) Gray on a small farm in Coke County. She was the third of six children. She attended Central High School graduating in the early 50’s. She married Don Mortimore in New Mexico on July 26, 1956. Don and Myrt were blessed with three children: William Steven Mortimore, Lisa Mortimore Lesosky and Keith Dixon Mortimore. Myrt was employed by GTE and retired in the late ‘80s. She was active in community events with her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, for over fifty years. The women of her sorority were her sisters and we would like to thank them for their support over the last months. She loved working at Fiesta del Concho, The Children’s Fair in Unidad Park, working on various boards like Beta Sigma Phi City Council and Texas Trust. She donated her O+ blood regularly and donated much of her time in the First United Methodist Church kitchen preparing meals with her Cheers Sunday School class. Her passion for reading was evident by her massive library, she loved plants, was an incredible cook and collected cookbooks. Her cooking skills aided in helping with Meals for the Elderly. She couldn’t wait to get on a dance floor (member of various dance clubs including The Terpsichorean Club), sang in the church choir as an alto, went to the Central Bobcat football games for years, and was a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Myrt loved to travel and was often found in Laughlin, Nevada, Las Vegas, or Ruidoso, N.M. playing one-armed bandits or betting on the horses or traveling with Dick to places they enjoyed. She is survived by her two children, Lisa Lynette Lesosky and husband, Mark of San Angelo and Keith Mortimore, also of San Angelo and three grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Baring and husband Scott of San Angelo, Lindsey Elaine Baxter and husband Matt of Lewisville and Colin Mortimore of Houston. She also survived by two great grandchildren, Brody Ryan and Grayson Laine Baxter. Her living sisters are Jerri Unger and Elizabeth Emerson, both of San Angelo; and one brother and sister in law, Leslie and Tana Gray of Lubbock. Nieces and nephews include Dennis and Carol Unger, Larry and Rita Unger, David and Sylvia Unger, all of San Angelo; Steve and Kim Bell of Christoval; Nicky Gray of San Angelo; Margie Gray of Austin, Vicki Gray of North Richland Hills, Leslie Gray and husband Byron of San Angelo. In addition, Grant and Candace Gray of Dickinson, and Tory Gray of Dickinson as well as Bobby Emerson of Big Spring. Also surviving Myrt is Dick Jacks, a great friend, and travelling and gambling companion for the past eleven years. She was preceded in death by husband, Don Mortimore; son Steven Mortimore; her mother, Lucille Gray; her father, Ollie “Shorty” Gray, her older brother and sister-in law, Ollie “Nute” and Marcella Gray; younger brother and sister-in-law, Freddy and Marlene Gray and their son, John Robert Gray. Visitation will be Friday, March 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home with the service Saturday, March 14th at 11:00 a.m. at The First United Methodist Church 37 E. Beauregard in San Angelo, Texas. Pallbearers are Billy Tims, John Walker, Clay Hubbard, Koste Belchief, Gary Gammage, and Lanny Kiest. Memorials can be given to First United Methodist Church, Meals for the Elderly, or The Blood Bank of San Angelo (www.vitalant.org).

Kasiske Teresa Janet Harper

Teresa Janet Harper Kasiske of San Angelo passed away on March 9, 2020 at the age of 95. She was born in Converse, Louisiana on July 30, 1924 to parents Reba Hatcher Moody and Arnie Garland Harper. Teresa attended school in Port Arthur, Texas. During World War II, she worked as a switchboard operator. She met Helmut Werner Kasiske, and they married on August 1, 1952 in Austin, Texas. She played a vital role in helping him study at the University of Texas, where he earned a BS in Geology and embarked on a career with Carter Oil Company, a division of Standard Oil of New Jersey, and later with Esso, which became Exxon Mobil.
The family was transferred with each of Helmut’s promotions, and lived in Ardmore OK, Salt Lake City UT, Durango CO, Denver CO, Woodland Hills CA, and Houston TX. Helmut retired in February 1982, and they moved to San Angelo in 2003.
Teresa had a fascinating life, from her rural childhood, to a life of raising her family successfully through many company transfers. She was a great homemaker and cook, and enjoyed collecting and trying new recipes. Some of her favorite recipes were vegetable soup, cornbread, and the cherry nut chiffon cake that she made for Helmut’s birthday each year. One year, the whole family worked together to make a cookbook of all their favorite recipes.
She loved crafts. She was an expert seamstress, and taught all her daughters how to sew. She was also quite stylish, making a lot of her own clothes, as well as those of her daughters. She also enjoyed other crafts such as quilting, needlework, making decorative items and painting. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and reading remained a lifelong hobby.
Teresa was a devoted wife and mother, and she said that the greatest joy of her life was her family. She loved seeing them grow up, go to college, and have good lives. She was also very proud of her four grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. All of them will remember her as proud, encouraging and supportive of them throughout their lives.
Teresa is predeceased by her husband, Helmut Werner Kasiske and her sisters Opal Harper Davis and JoAnn Harper McGraw. She is survived by her son Larry and spouse Carolyn of Conroe, TX, daughter Diane Spilman and spouse Ronald of Santa Fe, NM, daughter Patricia Roberts and spouse Richard of Fort Collins, CO and daughter Janis Dismukes and spouse Eddie of San Angelo, TX. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Jaclyn Obel of Pittsburgh, PA, Sarah Spilman of Santa Fe, NM, Ryan Spilman of Oklahoma City, OK and Jeff Kocurek of Anson, TX: and seven great-grandchildren: Lillian, Claire, Jackson and James Obel; Kodiak and Luxe Spilman; and Werner Kocurek.
The Funeral Service will be held at Harper Funeral Home, 2606 Southland Blvd, San Angelo, Texas on Friday, March 13 at 11am. The Graveside Service will be Saturday, March 14 at 11am, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Richland, 17701 Cameron Road, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Richland.

Martinez Pedro Hernandez

Pedro Hernandez Martinez, 78, of Wall went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 8, 2020 in San Angelo. Pedro was born September 22, 1941 in Rio Verde, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Pedro Martinez Gamez and Elodia Hernandez. He lived and worked in Rio Verde for many years and in 1971 moved to Wall to go to work for the John Schwartz, Sr. family. Pedro was a hard-working farm and ranch hand for over 50 years. Throughout his life his strength and perseverance allowed him to overcome many obstacles during his career. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, spending time on the farm and taking care of the many pigs and cattle under his care. Pedro’s most cherished achievement was becoming a citizen of the United States. He was preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Elodia. Pedro is survived by his brothers, Antonio Martinez and Javier Martinez; his Sisters, Maria De Jesus Martinez, Guadalupe Martinez, Maria Luisa Martinez, Lucalena Martinez and Veronica Martinez; a special niece Maria Ofelia Martinez and numerous other nieces and nephews; and his special girls, Johnna, Kim and Kendra Schwartz. The Memorial Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 14, 2020 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Joseph Choutapalli as celebrant.

Crane Patricia Kay

Patricia Kay Crane, 65, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2020 in San Angelo. Patricia was born January 18, 1955 to Fred and Effie Johnson Farr. She grew up in Fort Worth and Azle, Texas and graduated from Azle High School. After graduating from high school, she went to work for the Department of The Treasury United States Customs Service and worked for them in administration for 30 years. Patricia married George Ralph Crane on September 14, 1973 and they shared 46 wonderful years together and raised two sons. They relocated to San Angelo in 1998 and made it their home. Patricia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who adored spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, reading and quilting. She was a very outgoing person who never met a stranger. Patricia enjoyed visiting with people and making new friends wherever she went. She was also a strong woman of faith and was an active member of Word of Life Church. Patricia’s life and love for her family and others will remain in our hearts forever and we will dearly miss her! She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Kenneth Ray Crane and seven sisters. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Crane, of San Angelo; her son, Todd Crane, of San Angelo; Grandchildren, Destiny Crane, of San Angelo and Jeremy Crane, of Denver, CO; her brother, Doug Farr and his wife, Winnie, of Mansfield, TX; her sister, Joyce Gunn and her husband Charlie, of Palmetto, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Word of Life church with Pastor David Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
