Carl Edward Mitchell, 65, of San Angelo, TX went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 19, 2020 in San Angelo. The family will receive friends for visitation from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2020 and Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery in Abilene, TX. Carl was born November 11, 1954 in San Angelo, Texas to Willie and Louise Gentry Mitchell. He grew up in San Angelo, Texas and graduated from Central High School with some college experience. Carl was a veteran in the Army, he served in the Vietnam War from 1972-1976. Carl was honorably discharged from the Army, after that he was a construction worker that built part of San Angelo’s Highway Overpass. He was a loving father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. Carl loved to listen to different types of genres of music and his favorite rock band was “Living Colour” from the 1980’s. Carl loved fishing, walking the city and spending time with his friends and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Louise and his brothers, Roger, Steve, Jerry and Herbert Mitchell, daughter, Tai Rajai Limuel-Battle and granddaughter, Teyonce Limuel. He is survived by his loving children, Carla Limuel-Mitchell, Brandy Limuel-Mitchell of San Angelo and Joy Mitchell of Germany, 3 grandchildren, his brothers, Willie Dornell Mitchell and Clifton Mitchell of San Angelo, Annie Mae Mitchell and Jimmy Mitchell of Dallas, TX, special aunt Osie Thomas and Raymond and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and close friends. Carl is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and close friends.

Lora attended Sterling City High School and Texas Tech majoring in Home Economics before she married Thomas Carter Rawlings in 1949. They were the second generation of a prominent ranching and farming family in the Water Valley, Sterling City, and Bronte areas. Lora lived at the Water Valley ranch from the time that she was 19 until she was 87 years old.

Lora and Tom raised 4 children. She was an active member of the Water Valley United Methodist Church. She was on the board for the United Campus Ministries at Angelo State University and was actively involved with the American Diabetes Association, and the Water Valley Community Center. Her family, church, friends and community were priorities in her life. Lora was a woman of strong faith and resilience. She will be remembered for her compassion for others, her wonderful dinner rolls, fried chicken, desserts and remembering birthdays and anniversaries of everyone in the community.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Tom and Verdie Humble, her husband Tom Rawlings, sons John Edward Rawlings and David Robert Rawlings.

Lora is survived by her husband Carl Duncan, son Paul Rawlings, daughter Alice Rawlings Brown; grandchildren Russell Rawlings, John Honea, Katrina Graves, Elizabeth Honea, Rebecca Webb, Phillip Rawlings, Samuel Rawlings and Christina Brown; seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service for the immediate family was held at the Water Valley Pioneer Cemetery on Tuesday, 3/24/2020. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a date to be announced later. Martha Nell Barnes, 94 years, passed away on March 17, 2020 at her home in San Angelo, TX. She was born on March 2, 1926 to Thomas and Daisy Sissel in Cooper, TX. Martha married John Barnes on October 3, 1943, they were married 70 years. Martha has two daughters, Barbara Barnes and Beverly Bell. Martha worked for Rio Concho East for 15 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Barnes as well as her parents and three brothers, C.P. Sissel, Tom Sissel and wife Lou Sissel, Shirley Sissel and her granddaughter, Jeanie Lea. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Barnes and Beverly Bell and husband Calvin Bell; her granddaughter, Janna Morris and husband Denny Morris; five great grandchildren, Ethan Everett and wife Caitlin, Lori Sentell and husband JT Sentell and son Jase Sentell, Levi Sparks and wife Haley Sparks and son Wylie Sparks, Chy Everett, Daisy Glaspie and sister-in-law, Jackie Sissel. Virginia Rose Meacham Smith Garcia went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 20, 2020. She was a Baptist. Virginia was born September 6, 1939 in Moody, Texas. Parents were Howell and Inez Meacham. She was married to C. N. Smith who passed away January 31, 1983. She married the love of her life Felipe (Phillip) S. Garcia on February 27, 1992. She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Julie Smith Gainey. Survivors include her husband Felipe (Phillip) S. Garcia, children Phillip W. Garcia of San Angelo, Texas, Paul Smith of San Angelo, Texas, Mark Smith and wife Brandi of Bastrop, Texas, son-in-law Patrick Gainey of Enid, Oklahoma, Sharon Garcia Guillen and husband Demetrio of Fort Worth, Texas, and Elgin Garcia and wife Robyn of Prosper, Texas. She is also survived by brother Ray Meacham of San Angelo, Texas, niece Dace Meacham Stockman and husband David of San Angelo, Texas, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Virginia is under the care of Johnson's Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Knickerbocker Cemetery.

Lahoma Jo Jacobs, 82, of Big Lake, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020. She was born on January 1, 1938 in Lubbock, Texas to Richard and Leon Virginia Gordon. Lahoma married Billy Ray Dane and have three sons. Later in life, Lahoma married the love of her life Asa Jacobs on December 5, 1968. Lahoma was a proud member of Bethel Baptist Church, VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary, 39ers, and Mikey’s Group. She also had a passion for her family, church, and volunteering. Lahoma will always be remembered for her quilting skills and her love of travelling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, stepson, two brothers, one granddaughter, and son-in-law. Lahoma is survived by her children, Lee Dane and wife Eva of Monahans, TX, Roger Dane and wife Velma of San Angelo, TX, and daughter-in-law Patricia Pucik of Buchanan Dam, TX; sister Crickett Baker and husband Leon of Bandera, TX, and stepbrother Phillip Jordan of Austin, TX; grandchildren, James Dane and wife Elyse of Green River, WY, Stephen Dane and wife Dedra of Monahans, TX, Shara Shifflett and husband Jason of Monahans, TX, Brittani Edwards and husband Ty of Fort Stockton, TX; great-grandchildren, Kerstin, Ryker, Taylor, Shaylie, Cooper, Kris, Brandon, Justin, Bethany, Erykah, Jaidyn, Nate, Kelcie, Alyson, Peyton, K’Lea, Natalie, Ella, and Raylan; Lahoma is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as many special friends.

Teresita was born November 23, 1930 to Antonio and Eloisa Munoz Olivares. On Oct 27, 1956, she married Alexander Aguirre Rodriguez in Paducah, Texas. She devoted her life to raising 6 children and caring for them. She taught them to work hard and have faith. She was very frugal, never wasting time or anything. She was a member of the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart. She had a great love for her Catholic faith and prayed the rosary regularly especially in the last 4 years of her life when she prayed constantly. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alexander Aguirre Rodriguez; Brothers - Juan, Ventura, Alifonso, Francisco, Antonio III, Melquiades, and Ricardo Olivares; Sisters - Eloisa Lara, Augustina Luna, and Benina. Survivors include sister Isabella (Chavella) Rodriguez; Children: Alex Rodriguez, Jr and wife Amelia; Mario Rodriguez and wife, Lupe; Rosalinda Castro and husband David; Irma Diaz and husband Frank; Irene Lara and husband Jerry; and Larry Rodriguez; along with her pride and joy 16 grandchildren - Sarah, Angela, Clarissa, Priscilla, Eric, Michele, David Michael, Teresita, Frank, Joshua, Nicolas, Jennifer, Alexis, Kristina, Larry Joseph & Raeven; & 15 great grandchildren. Ernesto Calderon Cardenas, Sr., 84, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020, at his home.

Public viewing will be from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, March 22, 2020, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, March 23, 2020, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, with Ralph Gevera, Ernesto's Nephew. Burial will follow at Belvedere Memorial Park under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Cardenas was born February 28, 1936, in Pedras Negras, Mexico to his parents, Cayetano and Herlinda Cardenas. Ernesto married Ventura Gevara on October 24, 1961, in Eden. She preceded him in death on October 28, 2015. Ernesto worked for Bentwood country Club for several years. He was a strong hardworking man who cared for everyone in his life. He was appreciated by so many people.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Trevino and husband Gustavo of San Angelo; two sons, Adrian Cardenas, and Ernesto Cardenas, Jr. both of San Angelo; two grandchildren, Eric Gomez, and Lulu Cardenas; and two great grandchildren, Isaiah Gomez, and Gabriel Gomez. Ernesto was preceded in death by three brothers, Jesus Cardenas, Ricardo Cardenas, and Frank Cardenas.

Annie Mae Ripple, 95, of Wall passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Annie Mae was born on February 21, 1925, to Ladis and Lydia (Dusek) Schiller in Elgin, Texas.

Annie Mae started school at the Schiller School near Elgin, which included only grades 1-6. She and her siblings walked about two miles to school. She graduated from Manor High School. Since there was no bus, she and her sisters rented a room in Manor during the school year. After graduating from high school, she worked at Camp Swift, an Army training base near Bastrop, Texas.

She married William E. (Bill) Ripple on December 2, 1944, in Elgin, Texas, after his discharge from the Army. Friends gave the young couple gasoline ration coupons as wedding gifts so that the newlyweds could travel to their new home at Tankersley, Texas. In 1948 they moved to the family farm in Wall, Texas, where she and Bill raised their sons, Rodney and James.

Annie Mae was especially proud of helping to teach dozens of 4-H girls how to sew. She was a perfectionist at the sewing machine. She also loved cooking and working in the kitchen. As a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Annie Mae spent countless hours making crafts for church bazaars.

She was a member of the Tom Green County Extension Education Club for 71 years, where she held many offices. Although the club itself went by several different names over the years, the ladies who attended the meetings formed bonds that lasted for a lifetime.

After Bill passed away on November 25, 1975, Annie Mae volunteered as a “Pink Lady” at Shannon Hospital. She also helped deliver Meals for the Elderly for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her siblings and their spouses: Jerry Schiller (Dorothy), Edwin Schiller (Estelle), Alvin Pershing Schiller (Adelle), Rosie Mae Schiller, Gladys Schiller Steaples (Archie), Ladis Schiller, Jr. (died at age 5 days), and Olga Schiller (died at age 2).

Survivors include her two sons and their wives, Rodney (Karen) and James (Mary Kay) Ripple. She is also survived by four grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin (Joanne) Ripple, Brandon (Jennifer) Ripple, Lesli (Cody) Hale, and Jared (Sarah) Ripple. She is also survived by nine great- grandchildren: Megan, Hannah, and Owen Ripple, Lance and Nathan Ripple, Ashtyn and Kasen Hale, and Audrey and Jameson Ripple.

Annie Mae will be available for viewing from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, March 22, 2020, at Harper Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held.

The family would like everyone to know that a celebration of Annie Mae’s life will be held on a later date once the public health concern issue has subsided. They graciously extend their understanding to everyone with concerns about personally supporting them and will celebrate her life when everyone can attend. Jose Luiz Hernandez, 29, passed away on March 19, 2020 in New Mexico.
Jose was born in Pueblo, Colorado to Antonio and Rosalva San Juan on September 29, 1990. Jose’s family moved, not long after, to San Angelo where he attended and graduated from Central High School. Jose was a tremendously hard worker and started working in various jobs, always holding an extremely strong work ethic. Jose had two children Isaiah and Isabella who he loved with all his heart.
Jose is survived by two Children Isaiah Hernandez, and Isabella Naveh Hernandez; his Mother Rosalva Hernandez; his Father Antonio San Juan; and Siblings Antonio San Juan, Angelica San Juan, Antonio San Juan Jr., Wilfrido “Fred” San Juan, Javier San Juan, Maria San Juan, Dalila San Juan, and Marcelo San Juan; his Grandparents; numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins; and host close loving friends.
A come and go visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Harper Funeral Home with no more than 10 people in attendance at one time to abide by the directives given by the State of Texas and the City of San Angelo.

Billie Ruth Hargrove Dusek was born on July 22, 1929 in San Angelo, TX to Ruth Montgomery Koiner, and Homer Koiner (Homer was deceased at the time of her Birth). Her mother married her “Daddy” P.R. Hargrove in 1931.
Her favorite childhood memories were her summer spent with her grandparents BW and Mattie Montgomery on the Montgomery ranch east of Eldorado, TX. She graduated from San Angelo High in 1946.
She married Joe Dusek in 1948 and became a Farmer’s wife in Eola, TX. She resided in Eola for 42 years. She returned to San Angelo, TX in 1989. Billie was a long time member of Southland Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Jan and husband Jerry Twedell of Illinois; her son Jimmy and wife Martha Dusek of San Angelo, TX; She is survived by 5 grandsons, Jason Twedell of Illinois, Dee and Dawn Dusek of Eola, Jacob and Jamie Twedell of Ohio, Dan and Carla Dusek of Eola, and Jeff Dusek of San Angelo. She has five great grandchildren, Jake and Kursten Dusek, Josh, Ryley, and Jaden Twedell. Also survived by “her other” daughters Patsy, Weezie, and Jill.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
