Louie R. Lam Jr age 70 of San Angelo died March 23, 2020 in Houston.

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Robert Massie Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM. Due to the current health crisis in our community and the directives given by State and Local Governments, we must abide by the directive limiting gatherings to 10 people at a time.

A private family rosary will be said on Tuesday, March 31st followed by a private family graveside service at Calvary Cemetery in San Angelo. Arrangements are provided by Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Louie was born in San Angelo on January 5, 1950, to Luis R. Lam and Mercedes Faz. After graduation, he served in the US Army. Louie had a deep respect for the military and for the country he proudly served. He completed his military duty in 1972 and started working in the warehouse business. He retired from Quaker Oats as a GUI Operator (Graphically User Interface) in California at the age of 57 and moved back to San Angelo in 2008.

Strong, determined, harsh, confident and opinionated are all words that could describe Louie; but other words that could describe him equally well were, charming, loving, generous, romantic, funny and quick-witted. He had a way with people, although he initially came across harsh, as you began to know him you realized what a genuine and kind man he truly was.

He had a fascination for airplanes, cooking, Asian cuisine was his favorite, and basset hounds. He loved his bassets, Bernice and Elliott, they werent just puppies, they were family! Louie was knowledgeable about almost any subject and was a multifaceted individual.

After knowing each other in junior high and high school, Louie and Beatrice’s paths crossed again after 33 years. Their friendship flourished and they have been partners in life and in love since 2000.

Louie is survived by his spouse, Beatrice Padilla; his twin daughters, Sara and Stephanie Lam; his sister, Pam Nandin; his brother, Mark Lam; his step-brother, Jerry Faz; his special cousins, Lisa Castandea, Martha Tafoya and Dolores Castelo and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Craig Taylor, 72, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020. He was born in San Angelo, Texas, on October 15, 1947 to Massey E. and Faye Garner Taylor. Craig was a saddle maker by trade. He enjoyed creating beautiful and functional saddles throughout his lifetime. Like everyone else, Craig had many obstacles in life, but he could always embrace Ephesians 2:8. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God.” Craig is survived by son, Seth (Le’Anne) Taylor, son Shane (Stacey) Kelton, grandchildren, Christian Taylor, Kyle Kelton, and Kourtney Kelton, brother Jim (Sue) Taylor, and a host of loving family members and friends. A family graveside service will be held in Richland Springs, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The American Diabetes Association or your favorite charity.

Mims, Robert W. (Bob), age 95 passed peacefully on Saturday March 21 surrounded by family in Houston. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years(Mary Lee Mims). He is survived by his only son Carl Mims, and 4 granddaughters: Casey Raines of Garland, TX / Ashlynn Mims, Addison Mims, & Aliyah Mims (all 3 in Houston). Bob was born in San Angelo, TX in 1924. He was the youngest of two sons to Cell and Marie Mims. Bob spent his early years on Family ranches working livestock. He attended Texas Tech in 1942 for one year only to be drafted into the 101st Tank Destroyer Battalion in the US Army. He was then sent to Germany for service in WW2. He served his country proudly and was awarded several honors including the Bronze Star for Heroic Service in Combat. Post war he returned to Texas Tech and completed his degree on the GI Bill. Bob tried his hand at ranching after college in Southern Missouri for several years and had a difficult time making a living. Bob settled in Odessa, TX in 1954 and went to work for El Paso Products Co. Bob spent 30 plus years with El Paso Natural Gas as a supervisor before retiring. Bob had a passion for hunting & fishing and was extremely handy. Most days you could find him in his shop or garage working on his cars or guns. He was a perfectionist and a true friend to many of whom he kept up with for decades. A memorial service will not be held at this time. Most of his ashes will be buried next to his beloved wife at Fairmount Cemetery in San Angelo. The remainder will be spread at the Lano River in Junction, TX where he spent many hours fishing with his deceased brother. If you knew Bob, then you knew he walked 2 miles at 6am in the Odessa Mall every morning. He rarely missed a day of exercise. Up until his last days, Bob was living alone, mowing his yard, driving and emailing his friends. He always said he wanted spend his last days in his own home rather than a Senior Care Center. He faced death with no hesitation or fear. He was our Hero and will be greatly missed.

The family of Robert W. Mims will have a Celebration of Life service at a later date.

Patsy Jo Tatum Murphy, 76, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020, in San Angelo.

Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM Friday, March 27, 2020, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Due to the current health crisis in our community and the directives given by State and Local Governments, we must abide by the directive limiting gatherings to 10 people at a time. Memorial services will be hosted by Patsy’s family at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 28, 2020, at New Life Baptist Church. Cremation is under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Patsy Jo Tatum Murphy was born to Mark and Ceola Tatum on October 7, 1943, in San Angelo. She was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Mark Tatum and Johnny Tatum; and two sisters, Ines Nelson and Marie Walker. She attended San Angelo public schools. Patsy Jo was the mother of five daughters and one son: Victoria Tatum, Gwendolyn Williams, Michelle Shaw, Zina Pizano, Cecil Green and Patricia Rainwater. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her six children; one brother, Bobby Tatum; one sister, Shirley Wilson; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Though Patsy Jo Tatum Murphy was employed by KN Root Beer and Blackshear Elementary as a cook for many years, she viewed her children and grandchildren as her greatest accomplishments. Patsy Jo was very social and enjoyed the outdoors. She especially enjoyed fellowship if food was involved. She loved visiting with her friends and family. She had a great sense of humor, always ready with a smile and a laugh. Patsy Jo was nosey, and just had to know every detail of the lives of those she loved. It was just one of the many ways she displayed her concern and affection. She was a true firecracker, as red and vibrant as the nail polish she loved to wear. Patsy Jo Tatum Murphy was called home on Friday, March 20, 2020.

Victoria: Mom, I love you unconditionally. My soul is going to miss you very deeply. You have left me much too soon. I had so many plans for us and it is unreal that we won’t be able to realize them. You will forever be in my heart Patsy Jo.

Gwendolyn: Toots is what I lovingly called my mother. She was my pride and joy. I will miss you dearly. Rest in peace until we meet again.

Michelle: A mother that gives you joy. A special mother who laughs and cries with you. Someone you could talk to and who would listen.

Zina: This is a poem in the memory of my mom’s time here on earth: My time is when my sun will shine. Not only in the morning or in the day. The sun will shine when I say! I’m not asking for a thing. I’m just going to sing the song from my dream. The terms of being in my world is not negotiable. This is my time to shine. So, look out sun, here I come.

Cecil: ‘Mama’ Patty Jo is what I called her on all our phone calls. One thing you knew about mom was that she was the same. Never expect a difference. As the years passed, she became a little more relaxed. That’s our mom, and the mom I love. She will truly be missed.

Patricia: Momma, you were and will always be my best friend, confidant, protector, hero, encourager, realist, my shelter, overcomer, and counselor. You were smart as a whip, wise beyond your years. Ms. Independent, my rock, and much, much more. We will miss everything about you. I will always love you, your ‘Little Girl’. Patricia ‘Trisha’ Rainwater.

Loretta Mae Sauder was born on May 11, 1920 in Elko, NV and passed away on March 18, 2020.
