SAN ANGELO, TX — An urgent press conference was called for 2 p.m. Wednesday by the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association at the Fiesta Building on the rodeo grounds. Speculation is, in light of the decision by the Houston Stock Show and Rodeo to postpone its event from March until May 2021, and the cancelation of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, San Angelo will likely alter the event planned for Feb. 1-15, 2021. As of today, the San Antonio rodeo is reported to still be planned for Feb. 11-28, 2021.
Today, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo announced its plans for the 2021 Rodeo. The Junior Livestock and Horse Show competitions will still be held in March, as previously announced.
Funds will also be awarded to graduate assistantship programs at 11 Texas universities including Angelo State University, with each university program given the opportunity to administer the application and selection process.
