WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman August Pfluger’s bad week started the day he was sworn in to represent Congressional District 11 that stretches from Granbury to Llano, across the west side of the Texas Hill Country to San Angelo, and then to the Permian Basin cities of Midland and Odessa. The ceremony was private because of the pandemic. Flanked by his family, Pfluger took the oath of office administered by U.S. House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy. He was joined by his wife, Camille and three daughters, Vivian, Caroline, and Juliana.

WASHINGTON, DC — As the U.S. House reconvened after being interrupted by protestors who breached the Capitol building Wednesday, it seemed the air had escaped the balloon for lawmakers to reject electors from key battleground states and delay Joe Biden’s election as the next U.S. president.

Supporters of the 45th president gathered at Centennial Park in downtown Midland to show their support for republican lawmakers that planned to reject the certification of electoral votes.

I along with millions of Texans hoped President Trump would be elected to a second term.

The positions for San Angelo Mayor and three city council seats are up for election in May.

McGill was requesting to be allowed to rescind her resignation and serve the two years remaining on her term.  

WASHINGTON, DC — On Wednesday, Jan. 6, the U.S. Congress will convene in a joint session to formally count and certify the votes cast in the Nov. 3, 2020 presidential election.

SAN ANGELO, TX — Nick Hanna will swear-in as the Tom Green County Sheriff New Year's Day, Jan. 1, 2021, at in the Commissioners' Court chambers inside the Keyes Building in downtown San Angelo. The event is by invitation only due to COVID-19. The ceremony was re-scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday due to inclement weather anticipated in the morning.

In a post to social media Monday afternoon state of Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that the Legislative Council sent in draft language for a proposed law that would immediately transfer the control of the Austin Police Department over to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
