WATCH: Corpus Christi is the Largest Energy Port in United States

SAN ANGELO, TX – Port of Corpus Christi CEO Sean Strawbridge talks about what makes the Port of Corpus Christi important to the state at the West Texas Legislative Summit Wednesday in San Angelo.

The port of Corpus Christi is the number one US port for the export of energy. The largest crude oil transport gateway. Corpus Christi has the largest Natural Gas liquification facility

"There are 21 ports in the State of Texas but the big two are Houston and Corpus Christ. Houston is the largest port for containers, which houses finished goods," Strawbridge explains. "But it is Corpus Christi that is the hub for energy."

Strawbridge explains his recent a new project at his port to dredge and create a wider and deeper docking area in order to all for larger ships to load and unload. Strawbridge explains the industry trend towards larger and larger ships.
