City of San Angelo

Standard Conservation in Effect — San Angelo is in standard conservation, which restricts outside watering to twice every seven days at no more than one inch per week from Apr. 1 through Oct. 31. Watering is prohibited between the hours of noon and 6 p.m. during these months. Runoff of more than 150 feet down any street, gutter, alley or ditch is also prohibited. More instructions are at the City of San Angelo.

Thanks to a labyrinth of exemptions, homesteaders aged 65 and older will experience little to no change in their property taxes. On the other hand, renters are the most vulnerable to rising housing costs if the bond passes.

    SAN ANGELO, TX — Newly installed San Angelo Chamber of Commerce President Steve Ahlenius made a case for the San Angelo ISD’s upcoming bond during a Friday address to the Rotary Club. He argued that passing the bond is vital for the community’s future. The district is considering a $403 million construction bond, possibly split into two ballot choices: $112 million for a new Glenn Middle School and $281 million for district-wide upgrades. The final decision on the bond amount will come next school board meeting and the ballot referendum will likely be placed on the May 2025 ballot .

South Padre Shark Attack Victim Has Successful Surgery

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX — We have an update about Tabatha Sullivent, the mother who was attacked by a shark off the beaches at South Padre Island. She underwent surgery yesterday, where the remaining muscle was wrapped around the exposed bone in her calf area. "The doctor said he is hopeful they can save her leg," an update stated on a GoFundMe page that has raised over $20,000. The next surgery, a skin graft, is scheduled for Wednesday or Thursday.

SAN ANGELO, TX — Law enforcement officers were seen searching for a suspect who fled a traffic stop. According to a source at the scene, two fled a traffic stop on Red Bluff Road at around 9:30 p.m. DPS is leading the search for the second fugitive.

SAN ANGELO, TX — Last night at Foster Park, a scenic county park situated along Spring Creek off FM 2335, what Pct 4 Commissioner Shawn Nanny described as a “war zone” of individuals shooting fireworks resulted in at least two small grass fires that could have grown out of control.

GMC Pickup Clobbers Ram Truck

SAN ANGELO, TX — A Ram pickup may have been the victim of a GMC Denali pickup that appeared to have pulled out in front of the Ram from Palo Duro Drive. It appeared that the Ram was headed south of College Hills when the crash happened.
