COLEMAN, TX — A wanted Coleman man was arrested Friday evening after a standoff that drew multiple law enforcement agencies and required FBI crisis negotiators.
Coleman Police said officers received information around 6 p.m. that a man armed with a handgun was hiding inside a residence in the 1100 block of North Pecos Street. When officers attempted to make the arrest, the man fled on foot.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Jacob Luis Siller of Coleman, ran five blocks before climbing a 25-foot feed bin at MMT Supply on Lackland Street. Police said he refused to come down. After three hours of negotiations led by the FBI, Siller voluntarily descended and was taken into custody without incident.
Siller was evaluated for a minor injury at Coleman County Medical Center before being booked into the Coleman County Law Enforcement Center.
He faces charges of criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and evading arrest, along with warrants for violation of a protective order in Coleman County and bail jumping and failure to appear in Runnels County.
During the incident, officers also responded to a reported robbery in the 700 block of North Neches, which was later determined to be a shoplifting offense. A suspect was identified, and charges are pending.
Authorities thanked all agencies involved for their assistance.
