Elvie Jo Smith

Elvie Jo Smith, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Jo, the eldest of nine children. was born to Belva and Woodrow Rainwater on August 3, 1938, in Eola, Texas. A graduate of Eola High School, Jo went on to earn her nursing degree in 1978. She worked as an LVN for over thirty years before retiring. Jo was an avid reader and a Star Trek fan. She loved teddy bears and also had a large collection of VHS movies, which she enjoyed.

Jo married Rance Obenchain and they had one son, Charles Wayne, before they divorced. She later met and married James Smith in 1965. They moved to Eden, Texas, where they had three more children: David James, Rickey Joe, and Laurie Ann.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Billy Rainwater, Jimmy Rainwater, Larry Rainwater, Jackie Rainwater, and sister, Janie Crabtree; husband, James Smith; and sons David James and Rickey Joe Smith.

Jo is survived by son Charles Obenchain, daughter Laurie Hayes, and daughter-in-law, Mandi Smith; grandchildren Merenda Obenchain; James Obenchain (Katherine); Frankie Hutchings (Brittney); Brittni Borja (Marcial); Leandra Hunter (Michael); Alexis Luther (Steven); David Hutchings (Jessica); Chanelle Smith; Donna Smith; and Becky Smith; thirty great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Flowers and cards can be sent to Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas. Viewing will be at Harper Funeral Home, from 12:00pm - 7:00pm, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 22, at 11:00am at Eden Cemetery, in Eden, Texas.

Sharon Kay Bingham, 76, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Robert Lee.

Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with a family visitation from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Cody Turner, Associate pastor at PaulAnn Church, officiating. Burial and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bingham was born May 23, 1949 in Freemont, Ohio to Walter and Sylvia Gressman. Sharon married Ronny Bingham, Sr. on January 9, 1967 in Tacoma, Washington. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2017. She has been a resident of San Angelo since 1982. Sharon was a waitress for Henry's and La Casa Blanca. She would babysit her grandchildren. Sharon loved getting her nails done, and watching daytime soaps. She loved listening to Elvis Presley.

Survivors include her two sons, Ronny Bingham, Jr. and wife Laura of San Antonio, and Danny Bingham and his ex-wife Shayna Kiser (Bingham) of San Angelo; a daughter, Donna Campbell and husband Diarmid of Grape Creek; a step-daughter, Tammy Bingham; a sister, Pat Gressman; six grandchildren, Adrienna, Rebecca and husband Weston, Marissa and husband Braylon, Zach, Haleigh, and Tyler. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Richard Gressman.

Oralia Garza Fernandez

Oralia G. Fernandez, 90, of San Angelo passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Public viewing will be from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fernandez was born on December 10, 1934 in San Angelo to Enrique and Brunilda Rodriguez Garza. She finished her schooling in Metairie, Louisiana and resided there for most of her adult life. She married her first husband, Andres D. Cortez and he passed away in 2000. Later she married Sammy Fernandez on April 6, 2004 in Las Vegas. He passed away on April 11, 2016. Oralia was a homemaker to her six children. She enjoyed to sewing, crocheting, do puzzles, play Mahjong tiles and going to the casinos with Sam. She loved watching Judge Judy, dance and loved her Chihuahua dog, Rocky. Oralia was kind-hearted, strong-willed and a little spicy.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Rosa Linda Cortez; three sisters, Yolanda Gatzka, Rachel Zapata, and Amelia Garza; and two brothers, Enrique Garza I and Enrique "Jr" Garza II.

Oralia is survived byr five children, Elsa Waltman and husband Bill of Colorado, Debora Tullgren of Nevada, Oralia "Lala" Cortez of Chalmette, Louisiana, Andrea "Deedee" Uyemura and husband Mark of California, and Andres "Andy" Cortez, Jr. of San Angelo; four sisters, Mary Fernandez of San Angelo, Adelita Morales and husband Joe of Abilene, Brune Torres and husband Richard of Midland, and Leticia Sanchez of San Angelo; seven grandchildren, Brandy, Garrett, Gareth, Mason, Kate, Lynda, and Ashley; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Eryn Fiana Bruce, 42, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in San Angelo.

There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at a later date at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Eryn was born November 12, 1982 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Eryn was a life long resident of San Angelo. Eryn enjoyed doing arts and crafts. She loved going to San Angelo community events throughout the year. Eryn was preceded in death by her mother, Avelyn Bruce.

Eryn is survived by her Day Break family, where she will be deeply missed.

Edmund Frank Klepac

Edmund “Ed” Frank Klepac, 92, passed away peacefully at home in San Angelo, Texas, on October 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born November 22, 1932, in Hobson, Texas, to Frank Joseph and Ida Ulrich Klepac, Edmund lived a full and impactful life dedicated to faith, family, and service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

Ed proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years, receiving an Honorable Discharge for his dedication and commitment. Following his military service, he devoted over 25 years to Angelo State University as the Maintenance Supervisor, ensuring the campus community benefited from his diligent work. He also demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit as a Watkins Distributor and Catholic Life Insurance salesman.

A lifelong Catholic and devoted parishioner of the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart, Edmund found solace and strength in his faith throughout his life serving in numerous ministries. He was a dedicated mentor and coach, generously volunteering with YMCA Little League and instilling valuable life lessons in young players. He was the BIGGEST cheerleader and most enthusiastic supporter for his five children and grandchildren at countless sporting events attending and celebrating their every endeavor. Ed’s love extended to his wife, his family, and the natural world; he poured his heart into landscaping, nurturing his pecan trees, and finding peace in the rhythm of mowing his lawn and tending his garden.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Virginia Kozelsky Klepac; his children: Douglas Klepac, Carla Klepac Hernandez (Steve), Henry Klepac, Pamela Klepac-Tulensru Wilson (Don), and Kathleen Klepac; his grandchildren: Wesley Klepac (Shannon), Stephen Hernandez, Cody Klepac (Jetton), Kristen Hernandez Montgomery (Connor), Casey Klepac, Victoria Tulensru (Jeremiah Harrell), Hannah Hernandez, Annaleah Tulensru, and Noel Nehemiah Tulensru; 14 cherished great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Elizabeth Klepac and Wenzel “Windy” Klepac.

Edmund was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Hayley Klepac, his brother Sylvester “Shorty” Klepac, and his sister Bernice Klepac. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation: Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, with a Rosary beginning at 6:30 PM at Harper Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass: Friday, October 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart, officiated by Rev. Msgr. Larry J. Droll. Entombment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Our family is deeply grateful to the teams at Shannon Home Health, Gentiva Hospice and Live Well. Their loving care and professional support brought peace of mind to our family and allowed him to be comfortable at home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to “Meals for the Elderly”, “Catholic Outreach Services”, “Arbor Day Foundation or a Living Tribute”.

Joe Kent

Joe Kent, 90, beloved father and Poppy, passed away on October 16, 2025. Born March 25, 1935, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Owen and Thelma Kent. He is survived by his daughter Janis Jenkins and her husband, Randall; his granddaughter Baylee Jenkins; and his grandson Logan Jenkins.

Joe graduated from Newman High School in Sweetwater and attended Hardin-Simmons University before joining the U.S. Air Force. He served in Korea and was a proud veteran. After his military service, Joe worked for Tom's Foods for 15 years, was self-employed for several years, and later worked for the City of San Angelo for 16 years before retiring. He married LaRae (Nix) on August 19, 1958. They shared 62 years of marriage until her passing in 2021.

Joe was a Master Mason in good standing and a valued member of Sweetwater Lodge No. 571 (Grand Lodge of Texas) for over 50 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, and he shared his love of the outdoors with his family at their cabin on Oak Creek Lake. After retiring, Joe became an avid amateur radio enthusiast, known by the call sign W5UI. He and LaRae traveled to many "swapfests," where ham radio operators would meet to exchange ideas and equipment, and they participated in several Field Day events with the San Angelo Amateur Radio Club. One of Joe's most memorable trips was to Lajitas, Texas, where he and fellow "hams" helped with the Lajitas Bicycle Challenge. He was also a member of the National Association for Amateur Radio for over 25 years.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LaRae; and his son, Gregg. He loved his family deeply and lived a full, good life. He was deeply loved and will be missed tremendously. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is in the arms of Jesus, reunited with LaRae and Gregg.

The family would like to thank Randi and Christina of Concho Hearts Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

Dr. Emma Jo Benson Sears

Dr. Emma Jo Benson Sears passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, in San Angelo, Texas, at the age of 83. She was born in Durant, Oklahoma, to Joe Horace and Alpha Fay Benson, and grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, where her lifelong devotion to service, education, and family began.

She was the beloved wife of Franklin “Frank” Neville Sears, who preceded her in death in 2021 after 58 years of marriage. Jo is survived by her children, Michael Sears of Carlsbad, Texas, and Jennifer Sears, along with son-in-law Mil Sneler and cherished granddaughter Claire Sears Sneler of Vilseck, Germany. She also leaves behind her beloved sister Sue McClure and husband Randy of Davis, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews from siblings Deloris Knight, Jim Benson, Bobby Benson, Benny Benson, and John Benson, who have gone before her.

A proud citizen of the Chickasaw Nation, Dr. Sears honored her heritage through education and advocacy. She established a nursing scholarship in memory of her grandmother, Janie Hardwick Benson, to support aspiring Chickasaw nurses. Her academic journey included degrees from Texas Christian University, the University of Texas at Arlington, and the University of North Texas. She served as a nurse, a Service Chief for the VA in Big Spring, Texas, and as a Professor of Nursing at Angelo State University in San Angelo—roles through which she touched countless lives with compassion and wisdom.

Jo was a faithful servant, a generous provider, and a passionate educator. She found joy in reading, watching game shows, and traveling throughout Europe. Her unwavering support for the military, TCU, Meals for the Elderly, and Salvation Army reflected her deep commitment to community and care. She briefly served as a Nurse in the Naval Reserves, before supporting her husband during his Air Force career.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 10am. A graveside service and burial will follow at Lawnhaven Cemetery by Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.

Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped, the family she loved, and the values she championed. She will be missed very much.

Ricky Rojas Urias

Ricky Rojas Urias, age 69, of Sterling City, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. He was born on July 4, 1956 in San Angelo, Texas. 

Ricky attended Central High School and later went on to join the United States Army. After leaving the military, Ricky worked as a mechanic and eventually a welder at Hirschfeld Steel & Supply. He loved working on cars in his free time, always tinkering and toiling away. 

Ricky was preceded in passing by his parents, maternal grandparents, and paternal grandparents. 

Left to cherish Ricky's memory are his siblings, Alicia Silvas, Linda Padilla, and Aniseto Padilla III. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends. 

A rosary for Ricky will be held at 6PM on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Johnson's Funeral Home with Deacon Claudio Sanchez leading.

Jennifer Lynn Molina

Jennifer Lynn Molina, 52, went to be with our Savior on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. She was born on June 21, 1973, at Lakenheath Air Force Base in England.

Jennifer was a devoted mother, a loving daughter, and a loyal friend whose heart was as big as her laugh. She found her greatest joy in being with her family, especially her beloved children, Matthew and Ashlynn, who were the light of her life. Though life placed limits on what she could do, Jennifer’s spirit was never confined. She never gave up.

She had a deep love for Tejano and 80’s music, and she never met a stranger. Jennifer had a gift for conversation and a passion for sharing her story with others. Her warmth, humor, and the way she lit up every room she entered will be cherished by all who knew her. 

Jennifer is preceded in death by her father, Frank L. Molina III. She is survived by her son, Matthew Garcia and his wife, Harley; her daughter, Marina “Ashlynn” Garcia and her fiancé, Jesus Rosales; her mother, Ester Blankenship, and stepfather, Lewis; her brother, Abel Molina (Sabrina) and her sisters, Tammy Hodge (Billy), Apolonia Sosa (Rubén) and Shelby Marquez (John). She is also survived by her special aunt and uncle, Martha and Gabe Peña and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she loved deeply. 

A Visitation / Rosary led by Deacon Jesse Martinez will be recited for Jennifer from 6-8 PM on Monday October 20, 2025 at Johnson's Funeral Home with a reception to follow until 10 PM at the San Angelo Performing Arts Center.
