Richard proudly served his country and built a life centered on family and kindness. His home was a gathering place-warm, welcoming, and always smelling of something delicious he was cooking. Richard loved to cook for his family, and everyone looked forward to the meals he made with so much care. He married Paula Hurtado in 1977 and were married 45 years before she passed away on February 25, 2023. Paula was the president and founder of Women of Power Ministries.
His sense of humor, bright smile, and joyful spirit could light up even the hardest days. He loved cookies, fixing things, and taking drives in his truck. He was supportive, genuine, and deeply loved by his children, and his grandchildren knew him as wonderfully silly and always present.
His legacy will live on in the laughter he created, the meals he cooked, the love he shared, and the countless memories he left behind. He will be forever missed.
