Edward Milton Smith

06/17/2021 - 11:12 , by TKing09

Edward Milton Smith was born on June 19, 1969 in Muskegon, MI to Frederick Smith and Evelyn Atkiss. He made his home in San Angelo, TX. He went home into the loving arms of his savior, Jesus, on June 16, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Smith Sr, his "Mom", Debra Veltman, his father-in-law, Juan G Garcia and his children's mother, Shelby Jean Ramsey. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Anna Bertha and three children, Martha Lou, Trisha Lynn and Michael Fredrick Smith. His sister, Lorrie Harrison, husband, Joe and nephew Lewis held a special place in his heart. His sister-in-law, Laura Garcia-Najera and wife Julie, brother-in-law Juan M Garcia and wife Rachel, mother-in-law Anna Rosa Garcia and Aunt Hilda Lopez lovingly know as "My Billie". He never met a stranger. His goal was to feed the world. He loved to barbeque on the grill or smoker and hang out with friends. He radiated the love of Christ in every hug, every smile and every encounter.

His life changed when he met his wife, Anna Bertha. Together they served at Freedom Fellowship in different ministries such as Children's Ministry, Safety Team and anytime they needed help in the kitchen. He also participated with A Closer Walk and 325 Feed My Sheep Ministry. He felt at home with his church family. You always knew he was there because you could hear his resounding laughter when you entered the room.

His children were his prized jewels. He supported their activities such as dance, band, color guard, and soccer. He did what it took to provide for his family holding down jobs such as volunteer firefighter, executive chef, tree cutter, sand hauler in the oil field, and tile setter. Most of all he loved working with children. He put love into action putting others needs before himself, whether it be helping friends renovate their homes, cooking to raise money for needs, or hanging out in front of the smoker. You could always count on a great conversation to occur around a cup of coffee.

Honorary pallbearers are Michael F Smith, Stacy Carroll, Cam Ohlemacher, Mario Martinez, Ethan Owen and Dave Roberts.

A celebration of life will be held on his birthday, June 19, 2021 at Freedom Fellowship Church, 342 S Chadbourne St, San Angelo, TX 76901. The family request that you wear purple to support Pancreatic Cancer Awareness. Arrangements were made by Robert Massie Funeral Home, San Angelo TX
