College Professor Sentenced to Prison for Murder

ODESSA, TX –– Less than two years after William Goble Jr. fatally shot Dusty Gallivan during a traffic stop, the courts found the former Midland College professor guilty of murder.

According to police, Goble and Young arguing at the 1400 block of Spur Avenue in Odessa when Goble shot Young once. 

The shooting was treated as a road rage incident, but the Young family has disputed that characterization. 

According to them, the two men were neighbors and Goble was upset Young's son was driving his motorcycle in the neighborhood.

After the guilty verdict, Goble was sentenced to 38 years in prison.
