DeLaCruz Mason Reid

05/19/2014 - 10:03 , by johnb

Mason Reid DeLaCruz, 17 years. We called him May or Mr. Awesome.
Monster baby
A jubilant pleasure
Second Son
O what a heavenly treasure
Now you're with God for his joy
I love you my sweet baby boy
Born September 10, 1996 - May 15, 2014.
He was preceeded in death by his beloved brother Joshua Dylen DeLaCruz, 19 years, just a little over a year ago, January 2013.
He is survived by his mother Tracy Duffy-DeLaCruz, father Steven DeLaCruz, stepfather who cherished Mason, Thomas Williams and step sisters, Elizabeth, Katy and Leslie Williams; his second mother and aunt, Aunt Sonne Lopez, Uncle Benny Lopez, Uncle Patrick Duffy, Aunt Michelle Duffy; Uncles Raul Jr., Eric, John, and Aunt Donna, Jeremy and John Pauly, Mark DeLaCruz and Aunt Danielle Fields; Cousins Millie, Maernie, Mia, Aleena, Phinnaeus, Marci, Ria, Marybeth, Matthew, Jacob, Madilynn and Sophia; Grandmother Donna Jones and husband Mike Jones, grandfather James Duffy, Aunt Sandra and Uncle Doyle, grandparents Sandra and Raul DeLaCruz Sr.
Mason attended Central High School in San Angelo, TX. He worked with his grandfather, PawPaw, on weekends and in the summer. He was the type of employee one would wish for a hundred of. Bright, funny, great attitude, follows instructions very well, very trainable and a fast learner. Willing and strong.
All donations in Mason's name can be assigned to West Texas Rehabilitation Center in San Angelo, TX.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday May 18, 2014 in the main chapel at Johnson's Funeral Home at 435 W. Beauregard in San Angelo. Memorial Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday May 19, 2014 at the same location.
Our Mason chose cremation.
He collected display swords and beautiful knives. Mason played guitar, worked out and ran for fitness. He was very athletic and was developing, hence the name, Mr. Awesome.
He and Aunt Sonne participated in the Mud Run in April 2014. His friends Brendon and Christian were scheduled for the second heat, so he ran it again with them.
Mason was funny, and if pressed to describe him, friends, family, teachers, co-workers would all say, awesome. He will be missed. Family and friends may sign the online register book at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com.
