Edith Marie McMillan Blackwell, 97, of Ballinger passed away on March 5, 2014 at Robert Lee, Texas. 
She is survived by two sisters Dorothy Benham and Reta Faye Goodman; and two daughters Alice Blackwell and Annie Jones.
Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Friday, March 7. Memorial service will be in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel at 1 P.M. on Saturday, March 8, with burial to follow in Paint Rock Cemetery.

Harold Moon, 82, of San Angelo, Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 3, 2014 surrounded by family. Visitation to be held Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 5pm-7pm at Johnson's Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be on March 7, 2014 at 2pm at Hillcrest Baptist Church with graveside service to follow at Lawnhaven. 

Harold entered this world on December 18, 1931, the son of Jasper Dee and Willie Mae Moon. Born in Westbrook, TX, he was the third of six children. He met his wife to be, Faye Faircloth of Baird, TX when she was 9 and he was 14, beginning as friends and dating when the two were older. 

At the age of sixteen, Harold worked as a mechanic's helper and then became a full time mechanic when he graduated from Ballinger High School. He loved working and rebuilding old cars and pickups and could almost always be found under the hood on his days off and after he retired from GTE.

At the age of 19 he joined the Army and took his basic training at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii which he described as the most beautiful place he was ever privileged to see. Following basic training he was assigned to the 25th Division, 27th Regiment, better known as the Wolfhounds. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat while serving in Korea and spent several days in an Army Hospital before he was able to return to duty. Faye faithfully wrote letters to Harold during this time.

Upon completion of his duty in Korea, he was attached to the 101st Air Borne at Camp Breckenridge Kentucky, as a Staff Sergeant, where he was assigned as a Company Drill Instructor for 16 months. After the closing of Camp Breckenridge, he was assigned to Fort Knox, Kentucky. 

During a two week leave from Fort Knox, he married his childhood sweetheart, Faye Faircloth, on November 3, 1953. Upon completing his tour in the Army, he and Faye moved back to Ballinger where he worked as an auto mechanic for several years. Harold then went to work for Joe Bates Construction Company building power lines all over Texas and New Mexico, continuing to tinker with old cars.

After leaving Joe Bates, Harold started working for GTE in San Angelo, Bronte, Baytown and Fredericksburg. He retired in San Angelo after 28 years with GTE. During his retirement, Harold continued to have a passion for working on old cars and pickups. When he wasn't able to continue this hobby he turned to writing poetry, writing well over 200 poems. Some of the family's favorites include "If You Could See Where I Have Gone", "When Tomorrow Starts without Me", and "Oh if You Could See Me Now."

He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother, his little sister Athol Maedel, older brother Richard Moon and older sister Grace Smith. Harold is survived by his loving wife Faye, two daughters, Debbie Moon Blasingame and husband Larry of The Colony, TX and Sheryl Moon of San Angelo, TX, sister Mary Herriage of Minden, LA and Bill Moon of Abilene, TX. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Lisette Blasingame Hudson and husband Bentley Hudson of Frisco, TX, Brittany Blasingame Williamson and husband Scott Williamson of Bryan, TX. Two grandsons, Ryan Ford and Paul Ford both of San Angelo, TX. Three great-grandsons, Cooper Ford, Kylin Hair and Channing Hudson. Two great-granddaughters, Landry Hudson and Charli Williamson.

Elvina Ake Brady, 91 went to be with her Lord on Sunday March 2, 2014 at a local care center. 
Memorial services will be 2:00pm Friday March 7, 2014 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with The Reverend Matthew Rowe, officiating. Graveside services will be 4:00pm Friday March 7, 2014 at Paint Rock Cemetery in Paint Rock. 
Elvina was born March 11, 1922 in Live Oak, Texas to James Henry and Cora (Harden) Ake. 
She married Bernard Cornelius Brady Jr on June 6, 1964 in Houston, Texas. 
She was secretary to the manager at South Western Bell for over 25 years and then helped her husband as co-owner of the Mid Town Plaza Pasadena Motel. 
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter; Betty Brown and a brother, Coolidge Ake. 
Survivors include her daughter; Shirley Gailey, sons; Bernard Allen Brady and Jeffery Scott Brady, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, sister; Jimmie Bebb and brother, Leonard Ake and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Juanita Puente, 86, of San Angelo, passed away on March 4, 2014. 
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels / Knickerbocker. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Joey Faylona, pastor, officiating. Juanita will be laid to rest in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Funeral services will be under the care and direction of the Gutierrez family and Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/Knickerbocker. 
Juanita Puente was born September 8, 1927 in Eden, TX to Virginia and Jesus Hernandez. She married Seferino Puente who preceded her in death. Juanita was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for 55 years. She had worked at and retired from Candy Specialties. Juanita loved the outdoors, gardening and making quilts. She passed away after a year of complications with congestive heart failure. This illness slowed her down but never stopped her. She lived her live to the fullest. 
Survivors include one son, Armando Puente of San Angelo, grandson Mario Puente and one brother Carlos Hernandez and his wife Maria Hernandez. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
