Meza Maria

Maria Del Socorro (Choco) Meza Delgado, 91, of Miles passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 10:00.
She was born January 24, 1923 in Muzquiz, Coah Mexico. She married Zaragoza Meza in 1957 and both moved to Miles in 1971 where they raised four beautiful children. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, a great friend to all who she met.
She enjoyed visiting with friends, Bible Study and cooking. All her food was made to perfection, from homemade tortillas to chile rellenos to her famous tamales. Her hobbies included sewing, needlepoint, crocheting and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband Zaragoza Meza; grandson Nathan Meza; four brothers and a sister. She was the last surviving sibling of the Delgado family.
Socorro is survived by her four children; Ernesto and Lourdes Meza of Piedras Negras, Coah. Mexico, Roman and Susan Meza; Dora Meza Caniglia and Luis and Adele Meza all of Miles; grandchildren: Dr. Alejandra Meza of Guadalajara, MX, Ernesto Meza Jr. of Monterrey, MX, Drewsilla Meza of Miles; Joshua Caniglia of College Station, TX, Jacob Caniglia of Del Rio, TX, Alisea and Joseph Meza of Miles and many nieces and nephews from Texas and Mexico.

The Meza family would like to thank SACMC staff, Park Plaza Nursing Home and Hospice of San Angelo for their dedication and loving care. Special thanks to Belem Tirado, Juanita Carbajal and Luz Villaruel for all the extra special care given throughout the years. Pallbearers will be Ernesto Meza, Roman Meza, Luis Meza, Joshua Caniglia, Ernesto Meza Jr., Jacob Caniglia, and Joseph Meza.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to HOSA or the American Cancer Society .
A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Miles. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Miles. Burial will follow at Miles Cemetery.
