Herrera Dora

Dora Martinez Herrera, 77, of Del Rio went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 24, 2014 in San Angelo in a local hospital. Viewing will be at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Del Rio, Texas on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M., and Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 28, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Oaks Chapel in Del Rio, Texas. Interment will follow at San Felipe Cemetery in Del Rio, Texas. 
Dora was born May 31, 1936 in Del Rio, Texas to Pablo and Alejandra Guzman Martinez. She was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family as a wonderful homemaker. Dora had an incredible strength and the matriarch of the family who raised her children with a strong, firm hand and always said what she meant. However, she had an amazing sense of humor and always made everyone laugh. Dora also loved dancing, playing lotteria, dressing up for special occasions and she especially loved eating her chocolate candy. She was a beautiful, wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and we will carry her in our hearts forever! Dora was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Frances De La Garza and one brother, Daniel Martinez. She is survived by her loving children, Diane Herrera, of Del Rio, Gerardo Herrera, of San Angelo, Jesus Herrera, Sr. and his wife, Virginia, of San Angelo, Javier Herrera and his wife Rachel of San Angelo, Jaime Herrera, of San Angelo, Mark Anthony Herrera, of San Angelo and Phillip Anthony Estrada, of San Antonio; 18 Grandchildren, especially Emily Herrera, of San Antonio, Gerardo Herrera, Jr., of Del Rio, Sammy Herrera, of Austin, and Yolanda Herrera of San Angelo , Tx and 19 Great-grandchildren; her Brother's and Sister's, Pablo Martinez and his wife Cecelia, of Del Rio, Anna Hicks and her husband Norman, of Ft. Worth, Ubil Martinez, Sr. and his wife Maria, of San Angelo and Nora Ramirez, of San Angelo; and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins and other family members and friends. 
The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to the Doctor's and nursing staff at Shannon Medical Center.

Myers William

William (Bill) Lee Myers, 75 of San Angelo, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, April 23, 2014.
Family visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A celebration of William's life will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
William was born on October 11, 1938 in Abilene, Texas to Elmo and Gwendola Myers. He was a preacher of the Gospel and former Pastor of the Bible Baptist Church in Cisco and the Bible Baptist Church in Menard.
He graduated from Arlington Baptist College in 1976 and married Brenda J. Daves on February 14, 1981 at the Baptist Tabernacle in San Angelo. He joined the U.S. Army after high school and served for three years. He was called back to duty during the Berlin Crisis and served another year in Korea, guarding the Demilitarized Zone.
William was an entrepreneur. He ran Myers Mowing Service from 1980 to 1993. In 1994, he started Myers and Associates Insurance. He was an avid sports fan, but he really loved baseball. He loved the Atlanta Braves, and he was even scouted by the Milwaukee Braves in 1954. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his parents; middle brother Elmo E. (Buster) Myers; sister in-law Mildred Myers; brother Owen A. Myers; sister Nelda Avant; and grandson Matthew Schkade. Survivors include his beloved wife Brenda; sons: Matthew Lee, Mark Stephen and wife Andrea, and Michael Luke and wife Christina Dawn; daughter Lisa Denise Pomar and husband Renè; sister Theola Hardin and husband RJ; brother Wilford (Sonny) Myers and wife Nell; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
