Earl R. Flynn, 82, went to his heavenly home on August 31, 2014. Born May 5, 1932 in the Houston Heights. A man of tremendous faith and integrity, Earl took great pride in passing life lessons, wisdom and values to his family. He graduated Reagan High School and also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He bravely served front lines in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953, receiving a Purple Heart. Having an entrepreneurial spirit Earl lived a successful yet humble life operating several companies.
He enjoyed outdoors. Hunting and fishing were some of his greatest pleasures, and he passed those joys to his children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents Edward and Martha Flynn. Survived by his loving wife Nelda of 58 years, his precious daughters Kathy Flynn, Beverly Flores and Stacey Bartula. His much loved son-in-laws Gilbert Flores and David Bartula. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and wife Angelica, Jeremy and wife Betsy, Austin, Connor, Jasmine, Jenna and Jack. The family would like to extend deep gratitude to our devoted care givers and staff at Houston Hospice. His memory lives on in all who knew him. Please join us in a celebration of his life. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 10:00am at Memorial Church of Christ, 900 Echo Lane, Houston, TX 77024 with service immediately following at 11:00am. He will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.
