Koegel Cindy Hoffman

08/05/2014 - 21:01 , by johnb

Cindy Hoffman Koegel, 57, of San Angelo lost her courageous 10 year battle with Breast Cancer on Friday, August 1, 2014 in San Angelo. The Memorial Service will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy King officiating. Cindy was born May 4, 1957 in Castle Rock, Colorado to Harold and Phyllis Roberts Hoffman. She grew up in Bucklin, Kansas where she enjoyed helping her father with his gunsmith shop. Cindy then moved to Miami, Florida where she met the love of her life Mark Koegel. They were married April 12, 1980 in Miami, Florida and spent 34 loving years together and raised three beautiful children. Cindy worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company in Florida and in 1981 she and her husband decided to move to San Angelo. She continued working for GTE but retired in 1989 to be with her children. Cindy was a very artistic and creative woman, and while raising her children she decided to pursue her true passion by starting an arts and crafts business called "Ragamuffin." After her grandchildren came along she decided to expand on her love for sewing and creating and started her own line of children's clothing called "Annie Oakley Creations." Cindy was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved being "Grandma Corky." Cindy was always very supportive of her family and friends, and was the type of person who would revel in the beauty of the creativity of people and also see the beauty in the simplest of things in life. She was very energetic about recording her family genealogy and loved planning family reunions. Cindy loved nature and flowers, especially her blue bonnets and was very protective of them. She also loved her animals and watching all things God created grow. She was an incredible woman who worked tirelessly throughout her life and her vibrant love will live on in our hearts forever. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Karen Lewin. She is survived by her loving family, husband, Mark Koegel, of San Angelo; her children, Kimberly Carreon and husband David, of West, TX, Mark Koegel and wife Elisha, of San Angelo, and Michael Koegel and fiancée Rachel Emmert, of Odom, TX; her grandchildren, Ti, Logann and Byron Carreon, all of West, TX; her sister, Sandra DeVos and husband Brian, of Corpus Christi, TX; her brother, Hal Hoffman and wife Dana, of San Angelo; her brother-in-law, Karl Lewin, of Orlando, FL; her brother-in-law, Charlie Koegel and wife Karen, of Gainesville, FL; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends across many states. The family requests that donations be made to Hospice of San Angelo, Johnson Street Church of Christ, or a charity of your choice.
