James "Jimmy" Lionel Stewart

08/08/2022 - 09:37 , by TKing09

James Lionel “Jimmy” Stewart of San Angelo went home to the Lord on July 31, 2022. He was 74 years old.

Jimmy was born on July 16, 1948 in Pasadena, TX to George L. and Dolly (Pelata) Stewart. He grew up in Deer Park, a close-knit community on the Houston Ship Channel near the Shell Oil Refinery where George worked. As the baby of the family, he idolized (and sometimes annoyed) his four older siblings, and cherished their Summer family trips to classic Texas venues like Garner State Park and Camp Warnecke on the Comal River.

Jimmy loved sports, starting with baseball – and counted Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays among his boyhood heroes. He excelled in football in high school, and despite standing just 5’9” (6 feet rounded to the nearest foot, he’d say), he became an All-District offensive lineman for Deer Park High in 1965.

After high school, Jimmy attended Texas Tech University where, while earning a business degree, he became a diehard Red Raider sports fan and a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He made lifelong friends and memories as a “Delt” and was elected chapter President his senior year. One of Jimmy’s favorite college memories took place in the Summer of ‘69 when he and fellow Delt, Dave Burket, set out on a road trip to work around the country. In 9 weeks, they traveled 12,000 miles through 24 states and 2 Canadian provinces, working a few days at each stop to pay for meals and gas.

By far the best friend Jimmy made at Tech was Pam Bryan, his one true love. They were married in Houston on August 5, 1972, then moved to Austin where Pam taught at Westlake High and Jimmy earned a degree from UT Law School in 1974. Together, they became the nucleus of many lifelong friend groups, including Jimmy’s law school softball team, The Bombers. And in San Antonio, where Jimmy was a Legal Aid attorney, they reunited with best friends from Tech to form “Group Trip” – nine families who shared summer trips together for 45+ years, and who have become one big extended family more than 100 strong.

In 1979, Jimmy and Pam moved to San Angelo where they found a home and a community they loved. Jimmy shared offices with many great lawyers and friends before starting his own law practice in 1999. He served on boards for the Boys’ Ranch, YMCA and Girls’ Home, and as the #1 fan of his Bobcat sons, served as Bobcat Booster President. He was a Sunday school teacher and an usher at his beloved Sierra Vista Methodist Church, where he and Pam could speak openly and pray fiercely with cherished friends. God’s love shines through those friends who continue to bless the entire Stewart family.

Jimmy’s Christian faith took on new meaning with the birth of his sons, Nathan and Jeff, who became two of his best friends. Many of his favorite stories involved coaching his sons and their friends in youth sports – and for many of those friends, he made a lasting impact as another father figure.

Jimmy loved to laugh, loved music, knew the words to every song, and was unbeatable in Trivial Pursuit. He adored being “Grindad” to his five grandchildren. And, you’d be hard pressed to find a more dedicated Houston Astros fan. Last October, Jimmy and his boys went to the World Series together in Houston, an experience they will cherish forever.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pam; their sons Nathan and Jeff and daughters-in-law Jourdan and Cori; granddaughters CheyLee Stewart, Berkley Stewart and Carolina Stewart; grandsons Brady Stewart and Gibson Stewart; brother Hubert Stewart; sisters Eleanor Hyatt, Shirley Taylor and Mary Blount.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 3 pm on August 13, 2022 at Sierra Vista Methodist Church, followed by a gathering at Miss Hattie’s Restaurant. In lieu of flowers, donations to Children’s Bed Project c/o Sierra Vista UMC are appreciated. For more information, please call 325-944-4041.

Jimmy Arrington

08/05/2022 - 09:06 , by TKing09

Jimmy Arrington, 63, of San Angelo passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

A private celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Jimmy was born on September 25, 1958, in Roswell, New Mexico to Charles Arrington and Ouida Blackledge. His family moved to San Angelo where he attended San Angelo Central High School. Jimmy worked for Walker Plumbing from 1976 to 2008 and then operated his own company for about 10 years.

There was really nothing Jimmy could not do. He was a talented artist who crafted the most beautiful watercolors and drawings. Jimmy was an innovative builder who could conquer any project. His hobbies included being an incredible swimmer, a dedicated fisherman and an avid outdoorsman. You could almost always find him in his garage, working on a project, even if he only finished about half of them. Those who knew Jimmy would joke that he was as hardheaded as he was talented. A fierce friend, Jimmy would stand with you until the end.

But nothing made Jimmy prouder than being a father. He took immense pride in his children and grandchildren. One thing they will remember from their childhood is how he never missed an opportunity to watch "The Wizard of Oz" any time it was on. While it might not have made sense to us at the time, one quote resonates now as we remember our dad: "A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others" Jimmy is loved by so many.

Jimmy is survived by his four children, Alison Arrington, Kasey Arrington Lemons, Jamie Pearson, and Nicholas Arrington; his brothers, Charles Arrington and Robert Fairchild; sister, Sherry Tyler; mother, Ouida Blackledge; and grandchildren, Brayden Leverett and Andi Lemons.

Robbie Ann Faught

08/05/2022 - 08:57 , by TKing09

Robbie Ann Gilliam Faught, 75, passed away peacefully at home on August 2, 2022. She was born in San Angelo, Texas, on February 5, 1947, to Stanley and Ann Gilliam and was the apple of their eye. Growing up in a warm and loving family would influence how she impacted her own. San Angelo was Robbie’s lifelong home. She graduated from Central High School and then Angelo State University. Soon after, she married the love of her life, John C. Faught, in August of 1967. They built a beautiful life together that later included their two children, Angela and Johnny.

Robbie was a devoted educator and loved the opportunity to shape and engage young minds. She retired ten years ago from SAISD after 25 years of teaching. She was actively involved in Philia Club, served on the Alumni Board for her alma mater, Angelo State University, and in various capacities at First Baptist Church. Robbie and her husband John were particularly adept at leading the Married Young Adult Sunday School Department, where many couples grew in their love of each other and the Lord.

Robbie was always up for a party, and if she could decorate for that party, that was even better. She loved art projects and painting and was a wizard with a hot glue gun, giving her the moniker “Robby Lobby.” She loved her people and was routinely surrounded by a laughing group of friends and family. She never missed an event, big or small, that included her children or grandchildren and would often pen a poem or song to celebrate the affair. When she could find a little time to herself, she would sneak away to her happy place in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Robbie was a faithful Christian and reflected God’s love in how she interacted with others. She was an example to many of resiliency and faith.

Robbie is survived by her two children and their families, Mike and Angela Dina (Caroline, Charlie), Johnny and Kaitlyn Faught (Lucille), and lots of loving family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings. Special thanks to numerous caregivers who have assisted in her journey with Parkinson’s Disease over the last several years. They graciously allowed Robbie to live this chapter of her life with dignity and independence.

A Visitation will be held Friday, August 5, from 5-7pm at Harper Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will take place at First Baptist Church on Saturday, August 6, at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to the Turn It Gold Foundation (www.turnitgold.org) or Concho Valley Home for Girls (www.conchokids.org).

Ed Reginald LeClair

08/02/2022 - 09:57 , by TKing09

It is with a heavy heart we share that our father, Reginald Edward LeClair, people called him Ed, 86, of San Angelo passed away on July 19, 2022 in Floresville, Texas. He is now with our Lord and Savior.

Ed was born September 4, 1935 in Auburn, Maine to Rudolph Joseph and Aurea Norma LeClair and raised by his mother and stepfather; Gerald LaFontaine, after Rudolph LeClair died in France during WW2.

Ed spent his school years in Maine, attended 1 year of High School in Alaska then graduated from Lewiston High School in Lewiston, Maine. After graduation, Ed moved to Texas and joined the Army. After serving 6 years active duty in Korea and Alabama, Ed attended and graduated from St Mary's University in San Antonio.

He married Roberta Ann Morris on June 4, 1960 in San Antonio and celebrated their 60th anniversary together before Roberta's passing on August 19, 2020. They were the proud parents of 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

On March 16, 1961 Ed and Roberta welcomed their first child, Robert Edward "Bob" LeClair and Ed landed his lifelong career that very day with State Farm Insurance.

Ed began his career at State Farm as a Claim Representative in San Antonio, then transferred to Corpus Christi where he also tried his hand as an independent State Farm agent, but his passion was in helping people in time of need, so he went back to claims and moved to San Antonio as an Attorney Negotiator. Ed was then promoted to the Austin Regional Office as Supervisor and lived in Round Rock until 1978 when he was promoted to Claims Superintendent and moved to San Angelo.

Ed took deep pride in his work and in the development and support of those who he worked with. He considered them all family. He also gained the respect of all who worked with him as well as those who might have sat across the bargaining table from him in business but always shared the table with them as a friend outside of work.

In addition to his passion for his work, Ed dedicated himself to the communities in which he lived, such as the Corpus Christi Claim Men's Association, Pop Warner Football coach & Lions Club President, as well as a member of the committee to write the charter for the city of Round Rock.

One of his most passionate roles was volunteering with the Ft McKavett Volunteer Fire Department in Menard County serving as 1st Assistant Fire Chief for several years. In addition, he provided insurance guidance and organized the annual BBQ fund raiser for 19 years for the community he & Roberta enjoyed spending time with so many friends including the "Dunagan Road Crew"!

He is survived by a son, Robert "Bob" LeClair and fiancé, Lisa Francis of Burkburnett; a daughter, Renee LeClair Glass and husband Jerry Glass of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and son, Roger LeClair and wife Lisa Huro of Irving.

Ed was "Pepaw" to his grandchildren; Ryan LeClair and wife Amanda Stellhorn LeClair and great grandson, Rowan of Canon City, Colorado, Riley LeClair and wife Erin Moore LeClair of Irving, Reagan Glass of Denver, Colorado, Robert "Cooper" Glass of Austin, Reece LeClair of San Antonio and & Ryder LeClair of Irving.

Ed was known for his catchphrases and was always quick to provide "LeClairification" when needed! A few of his other favorites for the grandchildren were "Well, we're all here cause we're are not all there" and most well-known for "Nothing ever too good or too bad lasts too long".

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for September 24, 2022 in San Angelo. Please refer to Robert Massie Funeral Home for updated details at www.robertmassie.com.

Ed and Roberta will be interned together at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Currently, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in the name of Reginald Edward LeClair or to the American Legion National Headquarters, Donation Processing Center; P.O. Box 21016 Tulsa, Oklahoma 74121-1016

The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of our family & friends who loved and supported both Ed & Roberta, his care givers and healthcare providers at Frank Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville, and the staff of Good Sheppard Hospice for their amazing dedication to the care of our beloved father.
