Hercilia Navarro

Mrs. Navarro passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at her home in San Angelo, Texas. She was born to Juan and Beatrice Maldonado Urista on July 2, 1951 in Del Rio, Texas. Hercilia married Preston Navarro, II on October 14, 1966 in San Angelo. She worked as a housekeeper for a local nursing home for a number of years. Hercilia's giving nature will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Preston Navarro, II; sons, Preston Navarro, III of Modesto, CA, Joe Navarro of Abilene, Henry Navarro of San Angelo, Rene Navarro of Abilene, Jimmy Navarro of San Angelo, and Rudy Navarro of San Angelo; 24 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Melva Barajas of Fort Worth, Alma Castro of San Angelo, and Berta Sanchez of Stockton, CA; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jewel Fay Huff

Jewel Fay Huff
San Angelo , TX Jewel Fay Huff was born on September 29, 1928 in Voca, Texas to Willie and Beaulah McBee. She passed away on March 12, 2015 at the age of 86 after a brief illness.
Jewel attended elementary school in Voca and graduated in 1945 from Brady High School.
On July 20, 1946 she married Wayland Huff in Brady, Texas. They had three children - Paul, Jean and Jimmie. In 1959, Wayland and Jewel moved their family to San Angelo.
She was primarily a homemaker. She worked at Hemphill-Wells in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.
She became “Nana” in 1973 with the birth of her first grandchild and became Nana to everyone she met from that day forward.
Nana is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Phyllis Huff; daughter and son-in-law Jean and Dennis Stewart and daughter-in-law, Jaunita Huff; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; brother, Willie McBee of Virginia and sister, Emogene Palms of Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of sixty-two years, Wayland and son Jimmie. She is also preceded by seven siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00a.m.,Monday, March 16, 2015 at St. Paul Presbyterian Church located at 11 N. Park in San Angelo, Texas. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Meals for the Elderly or a charity of your choice.

Diana Reyes Aguirre

Diana Reyes Aguirre passed away on March 11, 2015 at a local hospital.
Diana married Joe Aguirre on September 2, 1994 and they were together for twenty wonderful years. Diana is a Central High School graduate and worked at Luby’s for many years.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents Pablo and Bessie Reyes, and brother, Paul T. Reyes Jr.
Diana is survived by her husband, Joe Aguirre and older brother, David Reyes both of San Angelo.
Memorial services for Diana are pending with Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
Diana you were taken away from us too soon. Now we wait until the day we will reunite with you in Heaven.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations for funeral expenses.

Raquel Elizabeth Peterman, 41, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord and her daughter Cheybabi on Monday, March 9, 2015 in San Angelo. "We love you, Lala, I miss you already," said by her beautiful granddaughter Rere. "We know you're holding Cheybabi in heaven and there is no more pain in your heart, baby girl," said by family and friends. "Who loves Quel?! I do!! Raquel "Red, Rocket, Quel, Lala" Peterman was born June 4, 1973 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin to Roland Alvin Atkinson and Debbie Ann Mitchell. Raquel graduated from Howard College and was a life-long nurse; she worked in her profession for over 22 years. Raquel cared for her patients like they were family members, giving everything she had to make them feel comfortable and loved each and every day. Raquel lived life to the fullest, making each moment of the day count. She was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished being with her family and friends. Raquel was truly loved by all that knew her, and will be terribly missed each and every day. Raquel was preceded in death by her Grandparents and her daughter, Cheybabi. She is survived by her husband Robby Peterman; her beautiful daughters Myriah "Riah" Atkinson-Harris, Stormy "MeMe" Leigh Peterman, Chasity Cuellar and Chelsey Cuellar; her Grandchildren, Serenity "ReRe" Lozano, Myla Cuellar and Dominick Garcia; her father, Roland "Snake" Atkinson and his wife, Linda, of San Angelo, and her mother Debbie Mitchell, of San Angelo; her brother, Robert Atkinson and his wife Kelly, of New Braunfels and children Alexis "Lexie", Ashley "BooBoo" and Ryan Atkinson; her sister Callie and husband Denny and children Courtlyn and Caden of Frisco; her brother Rusty and Dawn Foster and children; Brother Dale Hughes and Stephanie Hughes and family; Jody and Regina, Cody and Lauren Peterman; Brian and Mary, David and James Peterman; Scott and Shelly, Tyla, Brenton Tollett; JJ and Nicole, Bo and Joseph Tollett; Bandy and Regina Watkins; Michelle Wilson, Lenny and Kay King; and her best friend Michelle "Shell" Kimbrell, children Aidan and Cannon. Raquel is also survived by countless special friends who she loved whole heartedly...for when you were her friend...you were her family. Pallbearers for the service will be Robert Atkinson, Rocky Wilson, Michelle Wilson, Adrian Tarango, Jody Peterman and Scott Tollett.

Casey Flanagan

Casey Lynn Flanagan, 34, passed from this life on Sunday, March 8, 2015.
He is survived by his mother, Ann Coffee, of San Angelo; father & stepmother, Randy & Camille Flanagan, of Robert Lee; sister and husband, April & Mike Nichols of Robert Lee; brother and wife, Cole & Monica Flanagan of Robert Lee; and brother Cade Osterloh, of Spring, Texas. He will also be greatly missed by his nieces and nephew Aubrey Nichols, Zoey Nichols, Bailey Flanagan and Gavin Flanagan.
Casey loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He liked the outdoors and is fishing right now with his granddad in Heaven. He had a generous soul and always gave more to all who knew him.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the funeral home with family present 6-8 pm. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Robert Lee Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Family requests memorials be made to any of the following: American Diabetes Foundation, Robert Lee Cemetery Association, Coke County Food Pantry, Mountain Creek Golf Course, Robert Lee Fire Department or East Coke County EMS.

Gertrude Mae Scott, 88, of Snyder, died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at her residence. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Visitation and viewing will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Robert Lee Baptist Church in Robert Lee, Texas with funeral service to follow at 2:00p.m. Interment will be in the Hayrick Masonic Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Born on January 22, 1927 in Upland, California to Fred and Viola (Calvert) Boan, she married Winford T. Scott on February 23, 1946 in Ontario, California.
Gertrude (Trudy) was a member of First Baptist Church while living in Robert Lee, Texas. She enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching the 4 year old in Sunday school. After moving to Midland, she became a member of Crestview Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught a 4 year old Sunday school class. She also served on the Shepherd Staff at Midland Memorial Hospital. Upon arriving in Snyder, she attended First Baptist Church and later Colonial Hill Baptist Church. She was a member of the Senior Adult choir at both churches. She enjoyed attending the Senior Center and was involved in many craft projects along with singing in the Sunshine Choir. One of her many hobbies included corresponding with over 100 pen pals. She loved crocheting, needle pointing and then giving away what she made to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter-in- law Chris Scott and one brother, George Boan.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Scott and wife Carol of Snyder, Donald Scott of Abilene; and one daughter Susan Wilkins and husband Buck of Killeen; three sisters, Charlene Brown, Doris Stewart and Eloise Twitchell; her grandchildren, Michelle Gotcher and spouse Eric Fonte, Diana Richards and husband Josh and April Scott; her great-grandchildren, Robert Gotcher and wife Jessica, Shelby Ramirez and husband Frank, Laykin Gotcher, Zach, Chris and Emily Richards, Hailey and Mason Fonte; and one great-great granddaughter, Jovi Ramirez.
Memorial contributions may be given in lieu of flowers to the Snyder Food Cupboard in her name.
