Irma Jean Davis “Miss A” Autrey, 68, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in San Angelo surrounded by her loving family. Irma Jean was born December 30, 1947 in Richmond, Texas to Jessie Clay Davis and Sephronio Sparks Davis. “Miss A” as everyone affectionately knew her, was a loving sister, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She was always willing to help others and she never turned her back on anyone. Once you met her you made a friend for life. She was a strong woman of faith who transformed her life through her relationship with the Lord. This relationship allowed her to have a beautiful spirit and amazing personal strength. She never complained through her personal struggles and advised everyone to find your strength through Jesus. “Miss A” loved to dance and celebrate life. She also loved giving nicknames to everyone she met as a term of endearment. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. “Miss A” was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Clarence Lloyd Brooks, Willie James Brooks and Essex Brooks and her sister, Lillie Mae Thomas. She is survived by her loving children, William Clay Autrey, of Dallas, Sankirk Goldie Bailey, of San Angelo, and Paul Dewitt Thomas and his fiancé, LaMora Reddic, of Dallas; Her daughter-in-law, Felisha Ewing-Autrey, of San Angelo; her Granddaughter, Aundrea Nicole Bailey, of San Angelo; her grandsons, Haston Blake Autrey, of Cordova TN, Trenton Xavier Autrey, of San Angelo and Langston Harvey Autrey, of Dallas, TX; her Sister, Rosie Lee Fields, of San Angelo; her Brother, R. L. Brooks, of Florida; her God Daughter, Renita Harris Davis, of San Angelo; and her God Granddaughter, Alisha Harris, of San Angelo. She is also survived by a host of Nephews, Nieces and Cousins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 29, 2016 at New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in San Angelo. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
