Gussie Ruth Schneider passed away Thursday morning, April 30, 2020 at the Robert Lee Care Center in Robert Lee, Texas. She was 86 years old. A memorial service will be held at Harper Funeral Home on June 25, 2020 at 10:00 AM and will be officiated by Tommy King. Graveside inurnment will follow at 3:00 P.M., at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Ozona, Texas. 
Gussie was born on September 20, 1933 in Ozona, Texas, the youngest child of John “App” and Oma Sparks. Gussie was preceded in death by her parents, her older sister, Florence, and her twin brothers, Burl and Earl. 
During her years at Ozona High School, Gussie was a popular student with a witty disposition and a beautiful countenance. Her participation on the High School Twirl team was but one demonstration of her outgoing personality. 
After High School, Gussie went to work at the Post Office in Ozona where she met Charles Schneider. They were married on May 2, 1952 at the Ozona Church of Christ in the Granny Miller Hall. She and Charles raised their two sons, Mike and Ronnie, in a Christian home and were dedicated members of the Ozona Church of Christ. 
As a stay-at-home mom, Gussie had time to flit around town and visit with anyone she met along the way. She always had a never-ending supply of funny stories to tell about the colorful West Texas characters she knew in Ozona. Her laugh, her smile, her charm, and exuberance for life were well-known and often seen by most Ozona folks. 
After Charles’ retirement in 1990, the couple moved to San Angelo in 1994. They were, for many years, faithful and well-known members of the 9th and Main Church of Christ. Charles preceded Gussie in death on July 31, 2016. 
Gussie is survived by her sons; Mike and wife Stephanie of Cheyenne, WY and Ronnie and wife Kelly of San Angelo, granddaughters; Jessica Schneider of Cheyenne, WY and Kathy Schneider of San Angelo, great-grandchildren; Brock and Micaela Huntington of Cheyenne and Kais Schneider of San Angelo. 
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Dusty Anderton and Penny Griffin for the care they gave Gussie for many years and to the nurses and staff at the Springs, the Robert Lee Care Center and Kindred Hospice. Also special thanks to Tiffany at RLCC and Veronica at Kindred.

Jacqueline "Jackie" (Jackson) Conaway 
Jackie was born on August 24, 1946, in Ringgold, GA, to William and Margaret Jackson. She was a 1965 graduate of Cartersville High School in Cartersville, GA. She married Raye Conaway in 1968 in Ft. Hood, TX. They have three children, Stewart, John, and Raye Jr. She was initially baptized Catholic but changed her denomination to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was baptized in 1985 while stationed with her husband in Nuremberg, Germany. 
Jackie was a licensed cosmetologist after attending beauty school in 1965 and was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) after attending the Great Plains Technology Center in Lawton, OK, in 1975. She was a nurse at the San Angelo Community Medical Center, San Angelo, TX, from 1988 until her retirement in 2007. She worked on the OB/GYN and pediatric wards attending to and caring for the many children and babies born there. 
Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved watching the Price Is Right and watching anything that dealt with alien conspiracies. She loved spending time with her grandchildren especially when making spaghetti for them. One of her many interests included Native American art and collecting many things like tiny baby dolls, and decorative teaspoons. 
Jackie is survived by her husband, Raye Conaway, Sr., of San Angelo, TX; children, Stewart Conaway of Centennial, CO, John Conaway of San Angelo, TX, and Raye Conaway, Jr., of San Angelo, TX; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her siblings, twin brother William (Bill) Jackson of Woodstock, GA, Patricia (Pat) Beck of Jamestown, TN, and John Jackson, of Graham, WA, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Linda King. 
Jacqueline will be available for viewing from 8:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M., Friday, June 19, 2020 at Harper Funeral Home. There will be a visitation beginning at 9:00 A.M., Saturday, June 20, 2020 followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 AM on Saturday, at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints on Southwest Blvd. in San Angelo. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Virginia Garcia, of San Angelo, passed away June 15, 2020, at the age of 89. She was born on February 28, 1931, in Rowena, Texas, to Francisco and Sara (Soto) Gaitan. 
Survived by: Children, Mike Garcia, wife Diana, Caroline Fesler, husband Jeff, Henry Garcia, wife Cindi, Sylvia Bickford, Louis Garcia, Theresa Kennedy, Johnny Garcia, wife Lettie, Patsy Ramirez. Siblings, Mary Soto, Della Garcia, Frank Gaitan, and Mary Lou Garza. Special niece Olga Serbine. And many grand and great grandchildren. 
Predeceased by: Husband, Miguel Garcia, daughter, Elissa Garcia, sisters, Janie Cortez, Delfina Jacques, and great grandson, Rhiley Graves. 
We've often pondered, how a mother of seven could make each of her children, feel like they were her favorite. We've often joked amongst ourselves, when our Mother would tell us goodbye, if she whispered separately in each of our ears, "You’re my favorite", for she treated each of us like her favorite. 
She retired from Levi's, in the 90's and continued to use her skills as a Master Seamstress, volunteering at the Baptist Retirement Community, where she was a resident. 
Mom had a servant’s heart, the purest of souls, she was a virtuous woman and prayer warrior, and was happiest in the company of her family and friends, for whom she often hosted family dinners. We were always in awe!!! How was it possible to feed so many people, with so little on the table? She cooked with love, no matter how large the crowd, there was always plenty for everyone and leftovers! 
God blessed mom with many gifts. She will be missed by her multitude of family and friends. 
"Some people touch our lives briefly, while others leave a lasting impression and will never be forgotten". Vaya con Dios, Mom!

If Heaven has a drag racing strip, you can bet George Taylor's first call to business when arriving there on June 8th, was to rev up a souped-up Camaro and head for the start line. You can also bet the end goal was not the finish line but to get to his beloved Betty Taylor as soon as possible.

George Robert Taylor, 77, passed away June 8, 2020, in San Angelo, Texas, and his soul joined his wife of 52 years, Betty Margaret Burgess Taylor, whom he married at Lakeview Baptist Church in San Angelo, and preceded him in death on February 13, 2018.

George was born October 29, 1942, in Brady, Texas. In 1961, he graduated from Brady High School and moved on to receive a Federal Communications Commission license the following year.

His broadcasting career got a kick start at KTEP 1340 AM Radio as an engineer and DJ, where he showcased his deep radio voice and fine-tuned his affinity for dad jokes well before the birth of his only child, Becky Denise Taylor (Becky Carl).

"It's one-minute past 10 o'clock," George said as his voice would come on the radio during a break in music, a perfect time to drop one of his favorite jokes. "Sitting here thinking about my vacation. My boss just called and says, 'I wish you would plan your work as well as you plan your vacation'. He wanted to know where I was going. I told him I have been saving my money. I'm going to either Paris or Rome....Texas"

"I might even branch out to Las Vegas...New Mexico"

"I have several notes from people who want me to stay....there, not here!"

The truth is, now that he is in Heaven with Betty, those who love and care for George do want him to stay there, not here. When Betty passed away, he was heartbroken and felt lost. There was not a day he did not think of her and wish she wasn't gone. He wished he had taken her place in death. But he also knew they would reunite someday. Those who love him know that day is here, and they are both sitting next to Our Heavenly Father, creator of all things, including this marriage that stayed strong through more than half a century.

George was a lifetime member of The Society of Broadcast Engineers and served as chief engineer for KNEL Radio in Brady, before taking on jobs at KRBC-TV in Abilene, Texas, and KFDA-Radio and KFDA-TV 10 in Amarillo, Texas. Later jobs include engineering tasks in Austin, El Paso and San Angelo.

George loved his wife and family, and he also had a love for his many Chevrolet Camaro's, which he would race constantly at tracks around the state. In 2005, George and Betty celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary by drag racing each other at Wall Dragway in Wall, Texas. He drove his iconic green 1970 1/2 with black racing stripes. On the windshield he proudly supported BT Ministries Racing, a reminder of Betty's "BT Ministries", his wife's effort to bring God and church to those who would not make Sunday services during the racing season.

Survivors include his only child, daughter Becky Denise Taylor Carl, and husband Gilbert Carl of Round Rock, Texas. Grandson Bryan, wife Jeannie and great-grandson Parker. Granddaughter Shelby, and great-grandsons Nicholas and Bentley. Grandson Brandon, and great-granddaughter Avery and great-grandson Jackson. Granddaughter Savanna.

Vincent Andrew Montemayor Ramirez, 27, passed away in Tampa, Florida.

Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2020, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with a 6:00PM Rosary.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 20, 2020, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Joey Fayona officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Vincent was born October 2, 1992, in San Angelo. At the tender age of 5 months, the family moved to Florida, but he loved his Texas roots. He was a gifted musician. His versatility included piano, guitar and the drums. He never failed to impress anyone who heard him play. His father especially loved his covers of Beatles music.

Vincent had a wonderful sense of humor. The stories of his funny comments and gestures have been giving us comfort these last few days.

He was also a voracious reader and would devour books covering a vast array of topics and interests. Vincent would immerse himself in whatever interest he had and give his all just for the sake of curiosity. When he became interested in the environment, he started to grow plants. When he was interested in aviation, he bought a flight simulator with a controller just to practice, even if it was just on a computer. He even started to learn the Finnish language because he loved the challenge. He loved to cook and jobs where he worked as a line cook, his food had to be quintessential because he had pride in his creation. Anyone who saw Vincent knew he worked hard on his physique through strength training, running and proper macronutrients. He was the pinnacle of curiosity that we all strive to achieve, but for him it was effortless.

Vincent was blessed with high intelligence and talent but was troubled with darkness. Sadly, we share with you his struggle with depression and an alcohol addiction. Despite treatment and the support of his family, he just could not take this world any longer. The pandemic forced isolation and the loneliness was more than he could bear. It is ironic that he was unaware of just how loved he was by so many.

Survivors include his parents, Danny and Alma (Montemayor) Ramirez of Plant City, FL; two sisters, Olivia Ramirez and Elisa Ramirez of Plant City, FL; Maternal Grandmother, Dolores Navarro Veliz; and Paternal Grandmother, Susana Ramirez both of San Angelo. Vincent is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Juan C. Ramirez.

Pall Bearers are his best friend, Dr. Ali Siddiqui of Florida, Godfather, Ronny Bingham of San Antonio, Cousins, Ethan Rincon of Georgia, Zachary Ramirez, Jacob Torres and David Torres of San Angelo.

We ask that you honor Vincent’s memory by telling the ones closest to you that you love them. We have forever lost our chance to do so with him. Prayers that our son is at peace and has found the comfort that he so longed for in this world. May our Heavenly Father look after him as we wait in joyful hope to someday be reunited with him. Kunnes jälleen tapaamme.

Our beloved George Samuel Jones passed into heaven on June 12, 2020. He was 88 years old. He died from complications of Parkinson’s. 

He was born on June 20, 1931 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to George Jones and Elizabeth Claus Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Peggy Segal and Renee Nash. 

He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Ivy Harris Jones and his three children, Susan Harrison Delano (Dan), Patti Jones (Johnny Gnemi), and Doug Jones (Stacy). He has four grandchildren, Jeremy Harrison (Miranda), Micah Harrison (Danielle), Kristin Roberts (Adam), Ethan Jones and five great grandchildren, Gage Harrison, Hagen Harrison, Blythe Harrison, Sterling Harrison, and Niles Roberts. He is also survived by his sister Gloria Davis and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly as well as numerous cherished friends. 

He served in the United States Air Force and followed his service with a twenty-nine-year career as an Air Traffic Controller. He and Ivy owned and operated Four Seasons Dry Cleaners in Longview, Texas for nine years. 

He was an avid golfer and he and his wife Ivy enjoyed numerous golf excursions over the years.  

George enjoyed life whether at home, work, or traveling but his favorite times were with his family. He adored his wife and took great pleasures in sharing adventures with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He showed us all as much of the world as he could. 

George was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. 

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday June 17, 2020 at 10:30am at St Mark Presbyterian Church 2506 Johnson Street in San Angelo, TX. Arrangements directed by Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo.

Wyeth Leonard "Boots" Goode was born July 12, 1929 in San Angelo, TX to parents Homer and Jessie Lea Goode. He grew up in San Angelo and graduated from San Angelo High School and received an Associate's degree from San Angelo Junior College. He graduated with a B.S. degree in geology from the University of Texas in Austin in 1953 and did post graduate work at U.T. Austin and Texas Tech. 
From 1946 to 1952, he served in the Naval Reserve and on October 31, 1952 he married Louise Gayer Goode, also from San Angelo. 
From 1953-1970, he worked for Marathon Oil Co., spending 1956-1960 in Guatemala and 1960-1962 in Libya. The Goode family moved to Midland in 1962. 
In 1970, Mr. Goode opened an office for Amarillo Oil Co. and Pioneer Natural Gas in Midland and served as District Manager until 1977 when he resigned to become an independent consulting geologist. 
Mr. Goode was a member of the Wildcatters, AAPG (American Association of Petroleum Geologists), the West Texas Geological Association and the IPAA (Independent Petroleum Association of America). He was qualified as a Certified Petroleum Geologist and served as an expert witness in legal court cases. 
In 1983, he served as President of the Board of Directors of the Midland Country Club after being on the board since 1981. 
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and an active supporter of Wycliffe Bible Translators Inc. 
His sons, William and Richard, his parents and his brother, Buddy Goode, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 67 years. 
A private graveside service was held on Friday June 12,2020 in San Angelo, Texas. Memorials are suggested to the Jail Ministry of First Baptist Church, 2104 W. Louisiana Ave, Midland, Texas 79701 or a charity of your choice.

Marvin Jennings Ferguson, age 92, died June 11, 2020, in San Angelo with his wife of 71 years, Hazel, by his side.

Family graveside inurnment will be held in Eldorado at a later date. 

Marvin was born in Camp Wood, Texas on August 6, 1927. He married Hazel Baldwin on February 10, 1949, in Ballinger. He worked for Schleicher County for many years until his retirement.

He was a man that liked to smile and was always joking about something. He also loved to fish.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Stella and by his sister, Mattie Ferguson.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel; three sons, Marvin Jim Ferguson and his wife Karen, Dannie Ferguson of Gulfport, Florida, and Mike Ferguson and his wife Cathy of Robert Lee, Texas; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Darow Atkins age 65 of San Angelo, died June 1, 2020 in San Angelo. 

Darow was born on January 29, 1955 in San Angelo to James and Margaret Atkins.  He was 65 years old. He lived in San Angelo for a short time.  His daddy liked to move at least once a year, so he lived around San Angelo until 1959.  At that time his family moved to Sterling City.  His mother refused to move again when the children started school.  Darow graduated from Sterling City High School in 1973.

He worked in construction for a while and returned to San Angelo and began working with air condition repair services.  He did that until he was injured on the job.  For the rest of his life he dealt with the side effects of his back injury.

One of the things he enjoyed so much was fishing.  Nothing fancy, just a pole and a can of worms sitting on the bank of the river.  He would sit up all night if he found a good fishing spot.  He went fishing the morning of his death. 

Darow is survived by his sister's, Clyde and Kathy Johnson of Sterling City, and Lewis and Sinda Hinojosa of San Angelo.

He had 2 nephews and 4 nieces, 6 great nephews and 2 great  nieces.

There will be a private memorial with family at a future date.  If anyone would like to remember him, please donate to your favorite charity.
