San Angelo is in standard conservation, which restricts outside watering to twice every seven days at no more than one inch per week from April 1 through Oct. 31. Watering is prohibited between the hours of 12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m. during these months. Runoff of more than 150 feet down any street, gutter, alley or ditch is also prohibited.     Mickelsen discovered several issues with Vasquez’s conviction. He mentioned that the U.S. Attorney Jeff Haag failed to introduce the jury to the man who bribed him, Richard Wells, the multi-millionaire public safety radio dealer from San Antonio who gave Vasquez $178,000 so Vasquez would convince the City Council of San Angelo to spend $5.7 million upgrading Wells’ company’s installation of Harris radios in 2014.

Condon Retreats: “Mayor is Not Corrupt Anymore”

At The Angry Cactus Restaurant, 1 W. Concho Ave., proprietor Tim Condon claimed San Angelo Mayor Brenda Gunter was corrupt because the appraised value of her home went down when her neighbor’s homes went up. However, after the massive increases in value on Gunter’s other properties during the 2023 Appraisal Crisis came to light, he retracted his accusation.
